It's not about countries, it's about great matches happening all at the same time making it hard to accumulate viewers.

Not too many people in south America care for Champions league, and the time of the games are different. Champions league is played around early afternoon South American time, and games like these are played late, at around 9:50 (after the telenovelas).

What I mean is that many national players are playing in the UCL, so the friendly is B-team for both sides...

I agree, is good to see local players on this clasico, but is not the samething with out; Pato-AC Milan, Hulk-Oporto, Alves_Barca, Higuain&Di Maria-Real, Aguero-City, Messi-Barca, just to name some examples... btw great goalkeeper argentino.
