I agree though, next this guy will be saying "what happened to the great Argentinian team - dross like Messi are playing?"
The Bolivians defended well.
Very difficult pitch conditions (no grip on turf, ball skidding).
Lapse of concentration on the first goal and they did not take their chances, simple as - sounds like Arsenal lately.
Argentina should play Brazil at the Emirates (their second home - according to ex-Gunner Gilberto)! Proper pitch conditions, Gazidis get snappy, man! Commercial revenue for the Arsenal needs to be improved!
Argentina looked in fine form to me, all they have to do is take the chances - which will always arrive with Messi playing (sensational), and no lapses in concentration at the back. Question: are they World Cup contenders?
zanetti is a legend and you dont know anything about football if you say that he is rubbish. and notice who OKcomputer supports.
no problems with its attack, Messi, Tevez, Di maria is all good, it's just the defense i'm really worried even though players like Zanetti,Cambiasso,Mascherano are world class..
It's something dat they are not good enough, maybe they can't gel together.
Can Batista pls do something or else Argentina have nothing to be proud abt!!!
Now, Messi seems to get the blame everytime something goes wrong with Argentina, and that's not really fair. You can play really well, but if your other players screw up all your assists, it's not really your fault. People have the right to expect a lot from him at a national level though, he's supposedly the best ever, so you can't blame people for wanting to more of him, especially considering how surreal he is in a Barca jersey. It's kinda unfair that ppl just blame him, it's not 100% his fault, it's a 11 men game after all.
Btw, to answer your question, for his senior national career, CR led Portugal to the Euro final, scoring in the semi-finals. Finishing second in a Euro isn't very easy, since some of the very best teams in the world are European. Imo, second in Euro is much more impressive than an Olympic medal. Just my opinion.
Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh bro, i didn't mean to, it's just people can't just bring up CR every time they have to answer a Messi. I have absolutely nothing but respect and admiration for Messi, but i do agree that a player described as the best ever, has to make something happen for his country. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before Messi does it though.
As for the Euro thing, it's just my opinion. I just think Euro cup is much more competitive than Olympics. It's like i'd rather come in second in Champions League than win Europa League.
Cheers man!
Augero is sick, what an awesome goal.
lol and you messi fan boys crack me up. Messi has an average game, blame entire squad but messi.
@Khessler you are an idiot, I said Messi is s**t on Argentina, I never said he wasn't good on Barcelona. He is amazing on Barcelona, but he is s**t on Argenina, thus why he is inferior to Maradona who was class both on Argenina and on Napoli (winning their first scudetto) You sir are ignorant.
@GlennyBoy, no I never said that, I said that all the fan boys should blame messi as well as the whole squad instead of blaming just the squad. The time is not the point, its the impact the player had. Maradona had a much better impact on his team, regardless of how bad they were (ie Napoli) If that is well before your time, I suggest you look at the impact Zidane had on his team, a player who also was far superior to Messi.
Its funny how soon you all forget (or never knew) who the greats are. Funny also how NONE of you are from Argentina, just a bunch of Messi glory boys with no idea what football is about.
Anyways you avoided all facts like I said before because you have no idea what your talking about or how to have a football argument because they involve facts. Anyways your acting like Maradona didn't have an amazing team whos team chemistry was 10 times better then the Argentina football team is today because back then National teams didn't consist of players that played in all different leagues of the world their whole careers.
My god your stupidity knows no limits, you say im stupid but dont back up any of your claims. Napoli was hardly the best squad in Serie A (Like Barca is today) back then, yet Maradonna won back to back titles with Napoli as a direct result of his influence. Messi only thrives with Barca. (ie he does dick all in Argentina, refer to last world cup and this tournament). Again refer to Zidane.
Umm they didnt? really? so... your telling me Di Stefano (argentine since you probably didnt know who he was) played in Argentina... oh wait, no he played at madrid. What about Johan Cruyff (dutch), oh... ya thats right he played in Barcelona. You really are one of the most ignorant people I have ever met. What about Maradona... oh ya he played in Napoli NOT ARGENTINA. Ruud Guilit... AC MIlan. Marco Van Basten... AC Milan. So basically your bull s**t claim about national teams not consisting of players from different leagues is utter crap, especially since some of their best players played abroad. I love being right. Go back to 'watching' all your leagues.
Again what part of Argentina are you from? Or Barcelona? Oh... thats right, you arent, you are just another messi fan boy glory hunter. Jog on mate.
@simplygods not nearly as retarded as you 'bro'. Again to reiterate thepoint I am saying before all you messi fan boys start crying all the time. I started off by simply stating, he was not as good as maradona (or any of the greats) because Maradona played well both for club and country. Messi continuously underperforms at international level. I never said any of the s**t you said, you just put words in my mouth because GOD FORBID any one criticize the great messi. Before you go on your self glorifying rant attacking me, maybe you should read what I actually said. Muppet. Btw how many bloody clubs do u support you glory hunter?
