very poor match. the highlights were very unexciting and the commentator very annoying. i understand he has to comment on the match but hearing his voice every second repeating a player's name 6 times in a row is just over the top. i don't understand how egypt won the african cup of nations. they look horrible here.... funny how they always win in africa but almost never make it to the world stage. effing local champions.

they've only had 3 days to rest dude. the game was pretty dead I agree. But you'd expect it to be, both sides lookng just for one goal and lock the game defensively.

First of allm, i want to congratulate Algeria, and i hope they will make us proud in the World cup, secondly i apologize for what our immoral Egyptian media has said about the Arabian country Algeria, this media is just the media of Mubarak, and those Egyptians who are badmouting Algeria right now is because they are misleaded by the media, but i hope my Algerian brothers will know also that their media is misleading them, cause no Algerians were killed in Cairo, i have so much respect to the Algerian people, but actually i am very dissapointed by the Algerian players' attitude, calling Egyptian jews is something untolerable, but i forgive u cause my Islamic religion orders me to do so, i hope u will also forgive us, cause Egyptians and Algerians will and forever be brothers and united against our common enemy, Viva l'Algerie e Egypte!

The Egyptian players looked pretty tired in this game, as they didn't have the same amount of energy in the previous game!

The Algerians were pretty solid in defense as they pressured the players and forced them to give the ball away...... the best team won at the end so congratulations to Algeria

OK this video that you re talking about, I saw right after the egyptian fans threw rocks at our players bus when they arrived in egypt and injured our players. This video shows a bunch of furious ppl in the streets of algeria with knives vowing to get revenge. Nothing however happened, there is no proof of an algerian even touching an egyptian, show me a video of that!

Egypt did win 2-0 but that put them exactly on the same place as algeria(who defeated egypt 3-1 in Algiers), meaning, they had the same numbers of points, they scored the same amounts of goals, and surprisingly conceded the same amount of goals as well.. thats why they were so happy they equalized. THEREFORE, Fifa decided to have a barrage match in Soudan where the winner goes to the world cup since they were not separable. Algeria won the game and they are in the world cup.

what do you mean by lucky, our palyer kicked the ball and it hits the referee and entered the net, ahh , I see you're talking about the last 6th min in the last game, the offside goal from egypt, or the rocks thrown at our squad. SHame on you , you never admit it, and this is your problem. and by the way Algeria ALWAYS won against Egypt in a neutral country. since 68 in nigeria, to soudan, and dont forget tunisia. so swallow it or get lost.

Zarara, for your information We have Asked the fifa to play the BARRAGE MATCH in EUROPE, BUT EGYPT kept Begging for the match to be played in Soudan "which is closer". Tunisia has good stadiums, maybe Sudan's stadium was not a perfect one, but we played on one pitch with the same ball. the better team came out on top. excuses don't exist!!! we played 94minutes. we won 1-0. we are in the world cup.

I thought the only two choices were Tunisia and Sudan... So obviously Egypt will choose Sudan... this is at least the more "neutral" of the two although definitely not ideal. Europe would have been better and I am not making excuses I am simply saying that neither of the two countries were neutral ground, as you mentioned.
I would have liked to see Egypt go through... but unfortunately they did not play well in that last game... so like I already said GOOD LUCK to Algerian team in the WC!!! :)

dont blame the others for your misunderstanding, ALgeria chose Morocco, Libya and tunisia, and egypt picked soudan togo and I dont know what other african countries, and the fifa chose soudan. and every single country beside algeria and egypt is a neutral country. now if you guys have problems with them , thats an other story. and Algeria wins always outside egypt, I hope that you understand the last sentence.

Zarara, Thank you for your comments,I'm Algerian and proud of my team! because this game had lots of politics into it, there was a huge media war between the two countries if you haven't heard, fights and everything, even the two sport representatives for the two countries stopped talking to each other before the games. therefore, every algerian looks at this as a historic win because after 24years we're back in the world cup. Egypt is a tough team to beat, but our coach Rabbah Saadane, made a very nice formation which dominated the midfield; yet if you don't mind me asking; you are from spain and were rooting for egypt, can i know why?

I think that the main thing I noticed about that match was the nice activity [by Algeria] going on in the midfield, and yes I have heard about all of the fighting (I have to say I am quite disappointed with both sides). I am actually half Egyptian, so I would have liked to see Egypt go through of course; congrats for your team :)

well thank you for being the most understanding Egyptian then! I too am disappointed with the reaction of both countries, even today.
I know all of Egypt feel like they should've been through but this is soccer, you don't always get the result you want. as for the game I think that the man of the match was Chaouchi our goal keeper. without him. this wouldn't have happened; maybe we'll meet somewhere in the african cup, maybe Quarter or Semi finals :).
