The Blaugrana defense, IMHO, was quite dismal. The shortcomings were very obvious especially with Marquez, that got schooled a couple of times and then was foolish/lucky to cause that penalty that was not called in the first half. The 'hand-ball' by Pique was not handball, his arm was not moving, and it was close to his body. Puyol is by no means the replacement of Alves, he is not a Right Back, he is a Center back, period. He has a lot of heart; yet not effective in that position. Which leads us to that lack of depth in the bench. It is not just that there are injured players, it is that the healthy ones are just not the starting lineup.
BTW... Lehmann seems to forget that his little karate antics cost him and his Arsenal squad the CL the last time he played against the blaugranas... [pulling Eto'o's foot and getting expelled]. No respect for that guy.
Nevertheless it was not the best demonstration of Barca in a long time. It seems that something was juts not clicking. In offense almost it all falls on Messi's shoulders to pull a rabbit out of the hat. Zlatan scored, because he did what he does best, area shots.
Honestly , yes... it might be a win at Camp Nou, however if Barca keesp this low level of play there will be no back to back CL. Stuttgart seemed to put all the meat on the grill and were able to pull off a tie. I am timid to state that it is a forgone conclusion at Camp Nou. On the other hand, it might just be the wakeup call that Barca needs to smell the coffee and remember that just 'cause they won everything doesnt mean they'll play the same again this season... which I'm sure they are aware of. FORCA BARCA!!!!
Wow! we need to put a picture of that up at the Nou Camp to welcome the 'new Champ'= Jet(ns) Lee(hman)!
