I don't know why Harry Redknapp never put Defoe in the starting Eleven!?! he's a clinical finisher!
jarmain defoe one of the best strikers in the EPL

Now that's more the Tottenham way of playing!
omg u guys saw the highlights? they made it so 3D haha! cool stuff
Maribor Goal. Lloris Fault or Naughton's Fault ?
Naughton. Never put your keeper under pressure like that.
+1
Naughton, Lloris's decision to keep the ball close to him and try and dribble out of trouble is justifiable given how close the Maribor player is to him (hoofing it might have resulted in a nasty deflection).

It was just some inexperience shown by Naughton, he got nervous and looked for the keeper. He wasn't aware of the positions that the Maribor players had taken up around him.
Lloris could have cleared sideways though. throw-in's always better than a goal. both were responsible for that goal.

Again, he had no idea which way the striker was going to try to go, how would he clear it? He's right-footed, he would still need some backlift to get the ball out and that might've afforded the striker a chance to poke the ball away anyways.

Anyways, argue as much as you want, imo, the decision to keep the ball close to him and try to keep in control of the situation rather than exposing the ball to the striker (in the process of going for a big boot) was justifiable.
It was a tricky one. Had he tried to hammer the ball away it could easily still have hit the Maribor striker. Had that little dribble worked out he would have been hailed as calm, cool & collected. Naughton certainly was the main culprit in creating that situation.
If Naughton plays it out there's no danger, If Lloris boots the ball there is no goal.
First part is true, second part might not be true. As mentioned before, how do you know it wouldn't have deflected in off the striker?

No matter how badly Naughton clears it, as long as he doesn't play it to Lloris there, there is no goal for sure.
defoe defoe defoe !!

Jermaine Defoe remains supreme, haters gonna hate. ;)
