Blackburn midfielder David Dunn hailed the "grit and determination" of Sam Allardyce's side after they came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 at Ewood Park.

Goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski's vulnerability in the air was exposed on a number of occasions before Rovers captain Chris Samba took advantage to head home a 69th-minute winner.

Robin van Persie's first goal since October 31, having been sidelined for five months with an ankle injury, had put the Gunners ahead early in the first half only for Dunn to equalise from close range just before the interval.
I have to say slowly but surely we started to work our way back into the game by playing positively and getting the ball forward quickly.
Sam Allardyce after the win

Asked if it was the result of Blackburn's season, Dunn said: "I think so, we've bowed out quite well at the end. We've managed to do quite well at home to the big four teams," he said. "It's great to get a win against one of the top four and I think it shows a little bit of grit and determination from us. Our home form has been very good this year and it's great to come back and get three points."

As for his own 10-goal tally this season, Dunn said: "It's very pleasing. My aim at the start of the season was to more importantly play 30 games and chip in with five goals, so I've managed to double my goal tally but fell just short of 30 games. But it's been a good season for me."

Recovering from a slow start
Allardyce was proud of the team's performance. "It looked like it was going to be a tall order in the first 15 minutes, we didn't get to grips with the game and conceded the goal," he admitted. "But I have to say slowly but surely we started to work our way back into the game by playing positively and getting the ball forward quickly."

The Rovers boss admitted they targeted goalkeeper Fabianski. "We know their weakness is balls into the box and certainly the goalkeeper of late, so we did that positively and in the end it has paid off for us with two goals and we've managed to win the game and finish the season at home with a fantastic victory against Arsenal," he said. "It's a very big victory for us."

Wenger refused to blame Fabianski, instead insisting his goalkeeper was regularly impeded. "I thought it was a very poor football game overall. But we were 1-0 up and after that we couldn't score the second. We had a few chances, then of course I believe both goals were not regular.

"Their [Blackburn's] main purpose every time is to stop the goalkeeper, not go for the ball, and both times for both goals that happened," he said.
