Penalty kick is a homework for Korea Republic now

Very good game. But Japan needs to improve the quality of defense. Too bad Shinji Kagawa is not able to play on Saturday. We will surely see another great game against Australia.

Kagawa's out for the rest of the season =(
"thanks"! korea...

I also just noticed that on the second penalty kick Japanese players are already in the box running when the ball is being kicked. The penalty should have been retaken. It's a shame this happened.
I think the first penalty was a right decision. It doesn't matter whether the defender used his elbow or his arm. If you look at the replay the defender did not have his eyes on the ball, which meant that the body check was a deliberate and had an intent of knocking Ji Sung Park down in the box. The defender initially charges with his shoulder then he uses his hip to push out JSP. It made seem harsh but then again the defender shouldn't foul as such in the box.

As for the second penalty decision, the ref clearly got it wrong. For one, the foul was commited outside the box. Second, the keeper pretty much had the ball in his hand when the attacker went down. It should have been a card and a free kick.

I think the quality of the AFC refs are poor to a point where poor decisions are really affecting the outcome of the game.
Biased much? there was no foul in the box and there shud have not been any penalties on both teams. and the keeper did not have both hands on the ball so tht goal seemed fine. but i agree that the refs r bad.

S. Korea were brutal at penalties while Japan were excellent at penalties.
Was totally entertaining and both of the team's played really well.
fantastic match with a great end. the referee was so terrible that it evens out the match. the last goal by korea really showed determintaion and team spirit. the same goes with japan though. asian cup is surely interesting. good luck in the final japan! Korea played well and u played with honors! well done!
is that bruce lee in the korean goal post..?
So unlucky that kagawa has a broken metatarsal bone :/ what a body blow for dortmunds aims...:(
Killer passes by honda, he proved what he is made of (besides the penalty and getting no goals on this match :P)

banzai ! banzai !
textbook lesson of how to not take penalties by korea there...
That equalizer of Korea gave another life. But it is sad that all of their penalty shot are just a huge missed. Poor Korea. I prefer them to reach the final and face Australia. Anyway, this final is another blow to Honda's career as a footballer!
