can't wait for Chelsea vs Genk..... hope Torres plays.
nice game by chelsea
I always envy Chelsea when I see Mata is playing there.
Chelsea is so lucky to have him.

who the hell is this Vellios btw?
I think he's a Greek international teenager. He only cost them about 200k.

Great play by the Blues yesterday. The whole team is really starting to gel and take advantage of all the chances. Mata, Ramires, and Sturridge are playing so well right now! KTBFFH!!!
in stamford bridge, when u can hear the shout of a chimpanzee from the touchline to his players, it means the game is so boring that the fans dont bother to cheer up for their team. this was what happened in the everton game.
A total of 4 goals and you call this boring??? Even if we're not playing an all out sprint attack the whole match, we're playing very good football at the moment. You/whatever sour fans you mention should appreciate what is in front of you.
din u realise that we played too slow? no doubt we controlled the game from the start till the end, and we had twice the passes 773 compared to everton's 333. however, at times i was really frustrated when our back four passed the ball back to cech when we should have pass the ball front. if we were to play up to the level when we were against man utd in the second half, the scoreline would be 7-0 or 8-0.

also, sturridge still has a long way to go. he is in good form now, but not yet the standard of an established player. apart from that goal, what contribution he made? caused a yellow card on baines? and if u pay attention, he disappeared during the later part of the game. against man utd he was so bad in the second half that AVB had to sub him with lukaku. yesterday too he disappeared.

Well you gotta realize we weren't playing Torres whose faster than Drogba. I don't think Anelka played that much either. When Mata, Anelka and Torres are out there our speed is increased by a lot I have to say. We do more through balls and all that. With Drogba we use more of a target man and just cross the ball in there constantly. But you have to admit our counter attacks in the game were pretty good especially for our 3rd goal.
Our strategy going into the match was to slow down the speed of the game and make Everton chase the ball. We did that effectively and it worked. Exciting football doesn't always have to be fast football. I'm a supporter of Chelsea winning, not playing flashy despite the outcome.

I agree with you that Sturridge has some learning to do, but his speed is absolutely devastating. He's constantly creating space for himself, which picks up the pace of the game (which you seem to appreciate, haha). Looking forward to seeing him become an integral part of the first team.
Important win for Chelsea. Lampard and Ramires in midfield gels better than ever!

I watched the whole game, and I think Saha deserves to play in better team than Everton.

yes absolutely. the one thing i like about ramires is his runs. he runs from deep into the box causes sooooo many problems to the opposition becaus he is fast and difficult to track down. but i think his touch and composure must be improved. if he does so, he will be chelsea's deadliest weapon for years to come. he is just 23 or 24!!

Agreed on Ramires. I had a feeling his pace and runs would eventually gel to Chelsea's style of play. Great player!
Few points:

Our formation and belabored play didn't work in our favor, Chelsea deserved the win completely.

The Guardian article headlining with Sturridge showing maturity in this win was certainly correct when it came to his positive play, but was anybody (whose a fan of Sturridge-as I am) disappointed with the dive he got carded with late in the game? It was on the edge of the box against Drenthe and there was actually NO contact. I'm not bringing this up because of my allegiance to the Toffees, more as an assessment of the modern game. I'm as neutral as they come in terms of evaluating obvious talent. We got beat, I accept that, but that sort of behavior seems to be the norm even for those with immense talent. I'm waiting for a young player with incredible integrity to come along and tick off ALL the boxes. I found that confusing, it was at the end of the match...he could have even got past Drenthe without going down, that was the actual commentary from the pundit on FSC. Strange days.

Onwards and upwards.
Vellios is boss, and must start...he's now our top scorer

very efficient and businesslike performance from chelsea today, especially against a team that has had Chelsea's number in recent seasons. However it worries me that they always seem to switch off at times and if that isn't addressed it could be very costly as the season progresses
WOW Vellios! scores in 8 sec man! what a sub!
+1
Impactsub, brilliant! I would play him as a starter i think.
why is it that on every home game we hear the opposition fans louder than our own?? and we talk about moving to a bigger stadium. wake up and make some fukin noise.
+6
because we were boring and we din excite the fans. as simple as that. fans start to make noise when their team attack, shot and force good saves from opposition goalkeeper. and that din happen yesterday.
it wud have been 10nil with torres!!!
but great game by chelsea and also superb play by mata and Drogba!!!
+4
no, the overall chelsea play is toooooo slow, it just bored the fans.
Sean Paul, we scored 3 goals. Doesn't matter how slow the play is when we're winning like we are. GREAT play by the Blues.

no resistance from Everton whatsoever.. Chelsea still plays like an injured team, but keeps winning.. hope Torres could get the job done soon
+1
drogba wasnt performing... hope he gets to perform in his last game before torres is free from suspension.
Spartan, what Chelsea team have you been watching? The whole squad is meshing together very well and taking advantage of chances. The form is fantastic right now.
