Messi once again showing why he is the best footballer in the world

real highlights: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xngef9_barcelona-vs-osasuna-4-0-highlights-hd-04-01-2012_sport
Once upon a time, Barcelona & Real Madrid wanted to buy Thierry Henry from Arsenal for £50 million. Arsenal turned them down & sold Henry to Barca the next season for £16 million. A short while ago, Barca came knocking again at Emirates offering £50 million for Cesc Fabregas. Wenger refused to sell him back then & later let him go last year for around £35 million. I cannot be the only one who's noticed a pattern here. By the way, in today's transfer market, Cesc Fabregas is definitely worth more than what Barca got him for. Arsene Wenger's Economics degree doesn't seem to be doing him & Arsenal a lot of good.

You have forgotten the most important factor in your point. That is PEOPLE; Arsenal hoped Cesc would change his mind. If clubs ran like you suggest they should i.e. if big money comes knocking sale your best players. Then all the good players would be monopolised, and you can only field 11 players.

So in fact that would be bad economics having high wage players on the bench not playing and not all teams are built like Man City.

Don't forget we got Cesc for like less than 2mill (35-2=33), 33mill profit, yh that is bad economics.

Talk about finances, are United not in massive debt, when the banks come knocking for thier money, will the club pay?

All that aside, I'm happy to see Cesc enjoying his football and scoring.

I have no idea where ur getting ur numbers from Esso02. 50 million for Henry? 50 for Cesc? For sure that what they're worth but when did RM and Barca ever offer those amounts? Barca have been crying poor for a good couple of years.
This coming from a support of a club who spent 30+ for Berba and god knows how much for Bebe.

Xabi alonso i way better than busquets!! he does exactly what a mid is supposed to do read the game and pass the ball and not just pass the ball make exellent long passes!!!! you said it yourself xabi has beter passing well duh!! thats what hes supposed to do!!

It increasingly seems like Barca got a real bargain price for fabregas because in terms of his world class quality and todays market transfer prices he is worth at least £50 million. I mean Henderson of Liverpool cost something like £20 million lol
I'm gutted. He is definitely the best midfielder of his generation, and I'm absolutely certain he will be the best in the world at his peak. He was more effective than Xavi last year. Now that theyre at the same club it's easier to compare, playing against weak La Liga defenses. He will tear them up.
Miss you Cesc!

yousifsaid,, xabi alonso and scweinsteiger are better CDM then busquets

I respect your opinion man, and Im not saying im right but I see so much in busquets that goes unnoticed. He's just incredibly smart and smooth. Even though he plays different position and role then Zidane I believe busquets is the most important person on the defensive end of the pitch. The reason I say he reminds me of Zidane is his ability to read the game is incredible. He cushions counter attacks like a tempurpedic bed. His defense is great his legs wrap around players and he is the best one touch passer on the team according by Xavi and Iniesta

xabi alonso is the most overrates player i have ever seen. he is slow, cant tackle and cant defend and he slows down every attack. the only thing he does well is passing long balls. i would never switch busquets with xabi. i want him out of la seleccion!
Dont even compare the diving busquets to the best player to ever live...

I don't think so. Maybe Alonso passes the ball a little better, but he is nowhere near Busquets' tackling ability. As much as everyone hates his acting, you have to accept he is currently the best in his position. In my oppinion he was one of the main reasons for Spain's world cup success.
Busquets is one of our best passers. He keeps everything going. His brain is probably one of the fastest I know in football, reactions are inhumane :P
Busq and alonso have different way of playing. The both have their advantages and disadvantages! Thats why del bosque plays them both in spain!
Busquets's one touch passes are unarguably the best. On the other hand, Xabi's vision (his long passes) is outstanding as well and his defensive ability is What makes him one of the greatest DMF!

IMO, Alonso is a pure DM where he plays closely to his defense but Busquets is more a CM who can be a helpful factor on attacking sense!

defender gave messi waaaaay to much space on that last goal.
Fabergas' seccond goal is too much! Goal of the week easy. And Xavi again doing what he does best. Setting up the the strikers for easy finishes. Can't believe he hasn't won wpoty yet.

That award is apparently reserved for Lionel Messi.

this dude made an account today just to link his virus filled videos
- Good start to the new year. I really hope Iniesta and Thiago can replace Xavi when dude gets "old". The signs are promising but damn, four assists in one game is amazing.

- The Barça-have-all-referees-on-their-side crowd isn't really big on this comment section it seems but just in case one of them drops by: Both Cuenca and Messi could have been given penalty kicks, and should have by strict definition of the rules. Although I'll admit in Cuenca's case that karma is a bitch.

- I'm glad to see what the team can do without Messi. It didn't even feel like there was anything really missing in the first half. And that was without Iniesta as well. Fabregàs is awesome on a good day, best Barcelona (re-)purchase in a while. The 2-0 is my goal of the week.

- Osasuna are a weird team at the moment. I think they just get intimidated when Barcelona and Real turn up. That's the only way I can explain how they're 5th in La Liga and THAT nonexistent on the pitch against Barça. It's one thing to lose at the Camp Nou, it's another to have a 0-12 score after two games there.
