His performance has been awful....

He was so inconsistent in the MLS. He would play one game really great then play like s**t for the next 5 games. He didn't show any veteran experience on the pitch and couldn't live up to the standard and hype that he was getting. He was getting a paid a s**t load of money for nothing! Although I do feel sorry for him at Bahia, 3 managers in 2 months seems like a a drag. Good luck to him:)

I noticed the same thing, no movement off the ball, particularly from the midfielders who should know to do that second nature...

But we did a good job in keeping possession against Costa Rica before that... I don't think judging the game at Azteca is entirely fair, there was a different midset, different approach to the game than usual. With a weakened squad we were content on earning a draw, there was no need for constant movement into space up the field... That and Mexico thrives on the counterattack. We get caught we're screwed, it was better to not have possession and let Mexico try to break us down

You also gotta see that out back line wasn't as strong as it should be. Cameron is not a very good RB imo and Beasley, despite having a good showing against Costa Rica, was being picked on by the Mexican attack all game and ofc that's not his natural position. The CB duo at first had doubts but they came through especially Gonzalez, and Besler had a fantastic showing for only his 2nd appearance at the international stage, against Mexico no less. But still, our CDMs Edu and Bradley came back to support them all game and even Gomez and Zusi came back more than usual for support as well. If we had all our regular starters healthy, then I think USA would have been more attack-minded, but a draw is a great result at Azteca in this situation

Besler is a beast and should get called up more often same with Gonzalez, freakin brilliant.

Adu is now in Brazil, his ninth team in nine years. Such a shame really. The pressure really got to him. We should stop christening these young players as always "The Next Best thing" as it would be nice to see them develop to their full potential. Especially US strikers.
