anybody here?
What a night for us!
What the f**k is up with our new home kit?

Nike run out of colored fabric?

Since when does "black and white" arouse any patriotic sentiments in the mind of red-blooded Americans?

http://www.footyheadlines.com/2015/04/usa-2015-home-kit.html
Those are way too boring! I don't mind those blue ones the men wore last night, but they looked more like the women's jerseys.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1930752-best-and-worst-usa-world-cup-jerseys

I think a revised version of this old gem would be sweet!
The kits have gotten worse. I miss the 2010 WC kits and the 2011 third kit, the red with the dark blue sash. Bring those back. The sash was simple but so beautiful.
I agree Moe, the sash should be "our thing."

When you look at all international teams, the good ones are identified by their uniform- the white and black of Germany, yellow and blue of Brazil, Argentina's blue and white stripes, Italy's distinctive blue, Netherland's orange.

There can be so many variations with the sash, and it would make us instantly recognizable. It'd be a classy branding.
bahh sloppy second half.
Our January team calls ups:

GOALKEEPERS (4): Alex Bono (unattached), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Jon Kempin (Sporting Kansas City), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (8): Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), Christian Dean (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Jermaine Jones (New England Revolution), Perry Kitchen (D.C. United), Shane O’Neill (Colorado Rapids), Oscar Sorto (LA Galaxy)

MIDFIELDERS (10): Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Mix Diskerud (out of contract), Dennis Flores (Club Leon), Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution), Marc Pelosi (Liverpool), Dillon Serna (Colorado Rapids), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC)

FORWARDS (6): Tesho Akindele (FC Dallas), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Julio Morales (Tepic), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

I like how Klinsmann is calling up another college player. Alex Bono, never watched him but Jurgen is clearly using all his resources. Would love to see what youngsters Akindele, Trapp, Pelosi can do, they are quality as well as Zardes who's been phenomenal for the LA.
Jurgen's call-up for the game against the Czech Republic. A lot of young faces...

Brad Guzan (Aston Villa)
Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
Cody Cropper (Southampton)
Geoff Cameron (Stoke City)
Fabian Johnson (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Timothy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Michael Orozco (Puebla)
Tim Ream (Bolton)
John Brooks (Hertha Berlin)
Greg Garza (Tijuana)
Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes)
Brek Shea (Stoke City)
Mix Diskerud (Rosenbug)
Joe Corona (Tijuana)
Julian Green (Bayern Munich)
Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt 04)
Emerson Hyndman (Fulham)
Jozy Altidore (Sunderland)
Bobby Wood (1860 Munich)
Joe Gyau (Borussia Dortmund)
Jordan Morris (Stanford University/Sounders Academy)
Rubio Rubin (Utrecht)

Jurgen also confirmed that Landon Donovan will make his final, farewell appearance on the USMNT against Ecuador on 10/10!
Ones to watch out for are Gyau, Hyndman, Ruben very good players.
I didn't get to watch but I heard that Gyau did really well. Not too familiar with Hyndman, but I'm also on the Rubio hype train, hopefully he proves himself.

Also heard that Jurgen is looking into the NASL for players! The player being looked at is midfielder Miguel Ibarra. I think that's pretty remarkable and I hope that continues, always fun to look for diamonds in the rough in unexpected places
Things are looking up for the USMNT. 2018 is certainly going to special for us.
Ibarra has been called up twice now! hes from my hometown club MN united fc. Great player for sure. it's really nice to see jurgen not being close-minded and only looking at top flight players.
Landon Donovan has announced that he'll retire at the end of the MLS season... he'll definitely go down as the greatest player the US has ever produced and it'll be sad when that day comes, but it'll equally be exciting to see others try and reach a bar set this high. Thanks for everything LD!
Good riddance as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the service, but his attitude the last few years has been atrocious. I was getting tired of his constant f**king whining and b**hing about being left out. Should have retired after that sabbatical to "find himself" in my opinion.
"Good riddance" to not only the greatest American soccer player EVER, but to the man who's essentially led the sport to becoming more & more popular here? C'mon man! Yes, I agree that his attitude was annoying, but if you're summing up his entire career over what happened the past couple of months, you're no true fan...
^ Agreed. His attitude has been off in the last couple of years but his been an amazing player for the USMNT. I mean he lead this national team and was the face of it for so many years not to mention he stepped up to the plate when it most mattered, when we needed someone who can lift us, like the game against Algeria, it gave us hope, belief, happiness etc. I will never forget that moment!

Not only has he helped the national team but he stayed in MLS to help grow the league rather then go off to Europe he helped pioneer MLS to the next level. His been a stud for us and deserves lots of respect for it, I mean I can't imagine being in his shoes and being left out of the national team and knowing the rest of the world knows it as well, it was tough for him but accept it and moved on. Good bless Landon and wish him the best in his future.
Sorry I have a differing opinion from you. But IMO he's washed up and bitter about it. He had a great career, but he's been acting like JK had no right to leave him out of the squad and that's far from the truth and the LD fanboys are annoying. He's been in Mariah Carey diva mode since scoring that goal against Algeria.

The fact remains that he had the chance to be one the captain of the national team and one of JK's most trusted players and he bailed on the squad on a sabbatical to see if he cared about playing soccer.... sorry that's not a leader. Abandoning the team that you lead in a transition period while another player who's Dad was just fired from the team becomes the new coach's most trusted player? There's no excuse for that. Again thanks for the service for Team USA and the MLS, thanks for the goal against Algeria it was a great moment in sports history for the US, but deuces bro, you've been a whiney diva since then and JK was right to leave him out. I wish you good luck in the future and the ability to repair your torn h... bruised ego LD, but the team is better off without him and has been.
I don't personally know what was going on with LD his last few years and no one will understand just because we would have no way of knowing but all the media bullshit on JK and LD is just distracts us from what LD has accomplished and what his done. I thank him for all that because its gotten us this far in football.
I agree with you Moe, he has accomplished alot, but to be honest people are blowing his contributions out of proportion. He has done great things for us and he has had great moments, but the last four years have been atrocious. He turned his back on the team (and his club)for personal reasons and then when he came back, he spit in JK's face. JK spit back when it came to squad selection and he had every right to. The team comes first and it's like everyone forgets how he treated the team for the better part of four years.

He thought he was irreplaceable, he wasn't. He thought he was invincible, he's not. The TEAM comes first and many people are elevating LD to God like status and it's disgusting, especially given the way he's treated the team over the last four years (even before WC 2014). He's shown no class and no respect for the coach and I'm tired of it and I'm even more tired of people excusing this behavior and celebrating it. It's time to move on, we did no better and didn't do any worse without him and we faced three teams in the top 10 in this year's world cup. The Mariah Carey diva act is getting old and annoying and people supporting it is even more annoying.
Not football related.

As one says
"Form is temporary,class is permanent."
Not to rag on our british counter parts.. but just saw an awesome thread on reddit:

"England, why are you so bad at soccer??"
"*Football"
"It's soccer when America wins more games than you."

hehehe..

Rumors that Yedlin is signing with Roma, being loaned back to Seattle.
They played their guts out and showed their determination and passion. We had the hardest travel schedule, some really unfortunate injuries, and were in the group of death and we still made it out over Portugal and Ghana!! Not too shabby at all!!

Oh, and Timothy Matthew "Tim" Howard is the new front runner for President:
