Nothing to see here, nothing to find. This has nothing to do with money, outside forces (gambling, etc.), or corruption. It's pretty much similar to when a player carrying a yellow in the CL intentionally gets another yellow thus missing the return leg but is able to play in the next round. It might be against the spirit of competition, but not very provable or punishable even if players were to admit they put in a poor effort.
