Looks like Montanier is leaving La Real at season's end. Probably will end up at Rennes at Ligue 1.
Vela is coming back to the El Tri. He has asked Chepo De La Torre to be included in the WC qualifiers in June, and in the Confederations cup squad as well. :)
Wow beautiful service mid height. Even better finish :D. Shame they should have gotten the 3 points.

Wow. This is truly one of the most amazing things i have seen watching football. Beautiful story that has been unfolding La Real. Vela has truly changed the DNA and mentality of this club. The confidence is through the roof! Vela is the best 11 is Spain right now. Maybe even all europe! CL looks almost certain now. I dont see how anyone can stop them.
Whoa, whoa. Slow down there. This is just domestic quality. Not sure they can sustain this quality on 3 fronts (La Liga, CdR, and CL). As we've seen in the CdR, they weren't deep enough to get through even the simplest of matches.
Vela is quality, but as a role player. When he's misused (see his time at Arsenal) then he looks a bit lost and forces things. Just like the others here that have fallen madly for Griezmann, I leave you with some sage words:
"If you want to go quickly, go by yourself - if you want to go farther, go in a group."

yes yes you have a point, but i never said they would be able to succeed in a 3 fronts. I just said that at the beginning of last season they were gasping for air just to stay above water in La Liga. The transformation of the tea from then to now is amazing.
Aye. I'm wondering if Vela wants to play for El Tri again. Wasn't he kicked off the team (tho it was when he was younger and less wise)?
I get the feeling none of Real Sociedad's players want to change anything in order not to impact the club's current quality.

And here's a (quality!) Phil Ball article describing the contrast between La Real at the beginning of the season with their current form:

I believe like you said, the players at the club are all in. Vela i think surely will come back thanks to Chepo's open door to all players no matter what. RS want to see how far they can go with this success.
I mean no disrespect but I have lots of Mexican friends who share a few qualities among them, one being an almost ridiculous bias towards anything Mexican. Like Chicharito for example, last time we spoke, they were trying to convince me that he was just as good as Messi. Not so. Even your statement that "Vela has truly changed the DNA and mentality of this club" is a stretch in itself, for a successful football club is a successful starting 11, a successful bench, a successful coach and a successful institution. Now I am Chilean and I know that we tend to overtly support our countrymen abroad but here's my advice: do you know anything about the talented Frenchman Griezmann? or their strong-willed captain Xabier Prieto? or their EXCELLENT goalkeeper who has had a FABULOUS season and also happens to be... Chileno ;) Claudio Bravo? See rather than seeing things in a personal perspective (I am Chilean therefore I overtly support all Chile-related things), try the "world community" perspective so you can judge individuals without bias or preference. Now, I completely agree that La Real have had a terrific season and that Vela has been instrumental in their rise, but please.. do give credit where it is due. The team, the coach, their football, their fan-name-on-the-jersey-instead-of-advertising technique that already drew perplexed individuals to look at them and say "Wow, they are doing something different, they may just be something special". And in the humble and worthless words of a young Chileno... they are. Saludos amigo.
