Lol, Totti poking fun at CR:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkTqwTls9kA
+1
Lol,nice one from Totti. His face at the end is the best part,he's like: "Sorry bro,had to do it".
+1
I have no idea what's going on in the video lol
Lmao
Winter break: Bayern had too much rest, Real had too little and Barca had just the perfect amount!
+2
Whooh Bayern got thier first shalacking of the season 4-1 to second place Wolfsburg K. De Bruyne was stellar.
+1
Beat me to it Tharius, fantastic game. De Bruyne and Dost both got a brace, Wolfsburg is a scary team right now.

I think lack of competetion will really hurt Bayern, their scorleines are like friendlies. With no hard games, they're bound to have a drop in quality in Europe
+3
^^Spot on mate.^^
True. And now the first thing Bayern fans are saying right now is that they want de Bruyne. Pathetic.
+2
Lol what are u smoking mate? You need to stop imagining things..
All over the internet Bayern fans are saying it dude. Sure, not everyone is, but the fact a large percentage of your fanbase now want him badly says enough.

I've seen idiots with a Bayern logo as avatar saying "he's ours this summer", "welcome to Bayern", "we need to buy him now, before the transfer window ends" and so on. The first thing that would pop in my head if we lost a game would be for the team to pick themselves up and do better next game, not to buy the player who just was the MOTM against us.
I hope you are not talking about goal.com cause I have not yet seen the "large percentage" of our fans saying anything close. The only one i saw is in chelsea forum, but I dont think he is being serious.
I know you are belgian, I hope this isnt a attempt to make your de bruyne famous.
Yeah, I wanted to make KdB look 'famous'

...

Good luck reasoning with this guy jereon

It's no surprise Bayern scoops up every talent that could possibly challenge them. Of course Madrid and Barca also scoop up young talent a lot, but it's funny that whenever Bayern lose to a team with a fantastic players they kill the team. Lewandoski and Gotze are two good examples after Dortmund won back to back titles.
You still didnt show any prove of your statement
^They really tried to get Hummels too, but Mats is one of those world class players who's a one in a thousand and wants to stay with the club that made him big for as long as he can. Recently he said this:

"Europe is no longer is a realistic issue. The fight for the Champions League does not exist in my head. Fundamentally, I don't need to play Champions League to be happy.

Maybe we indeed lose players should we not qualify for Champions League, but what I can already tell you is that should we not lose 15 players at once, we'll still have a super team next season."

And of course Bayern are after Reus too. Bayern have a lot of great fans, but like any big club, especially on the internet, they have a sack of garbage too. And even in Germany itself, their fanbase is spread over the entire country, showing that a lot are glory hunters. Those are the sort of fans who expect their club to win every game 5-0 and buy all the star players.
+1
Yep I knew it, it was all made up
Simeone going to Inter would be a good step for them, as he would put the fire back into that team.
No its not. I do follow Inter as well and I think he would be a great long term manager but he should stay at Atletico. What his build at Atletico as today is pretty amazing and the club is growing every season. They've gone from dark horses to title favorites in both la liga and UCL and imagine where the team would go 5-6 years down the line with him still at the helm. Not to mention Inter have a long way to go from going back to the top.Mancini right now is trying to build a balanced squad and the new owner is critical of the teams spending and what they can bring in.
They might be champions and last seasons CL runners-up but by no means are they "title favorites in both la liga and UCL".
Ancelotti confirming that Illarra is starting tommorrow and thus not leaving in this transfer window.

Looks like that as an ex-Realista joining Athletic Bilbao wasn't high on his priority list.

He wants to finish the season then weigh his options.
+1
he is right.. he can go to a Bilbao if he waits... u never know... by the end of the season maybe a club like Roma, Napoli, arsenal, dortmund, benfica, Marsielle might want his services.... he is a good player.. no one can doubt that.. but not madrid material.. not yet at least.
It's not a matter of talent. Obviously he's talented. Madrid didn't pay all that money for him because they like him. It's clear they believed in him and his potential.

It's a matter of mentality and character which he lacks. He doesn't have the 'cojones' or the intestinal fortitude to be a player for Madrid. When he plays he's so afraid of f*cking up that he ends up being inconsequential. Not bad, not good just non-existent in the game.

I still think he's going to be a great player but its going to be at a club where the lights don't shine as bright.
+1
Agree with everything you said Slim, it's a simple matter of his nerves and never really adjusting to such a big team.
+1
Its being reported that Real Madrid castilla players are angry about the wages that Martin Odegaard receives. This as always going to happen the guy is being paid more than all of them combined including the coach.

Speaking psychologically what can that do to a player who has been through all the teams juvenil coming through the ranks and all of the sudden comes this new younger/better player who earns more than you probably will. IMO I think that a player should be worth that much if he has done something with his career sure there are prospects and they should be more expensive than other players but not paid just as much if not more than already proven stars such as pogba, Marcelo. geez when you think about it the kid is being paid more than carvajal and Jese combined! the two of them being from the madrid youth msut strike a cord in their confidence at the very least. This also applies for my team as well as we are guilty of this.

What do you guys think of this?

https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/martin-odegaard-s-salary-has-caused--anger--among-players-at-real-madrid-094742608.html

+3
Saw this a couple of days ago, its merely taking things out of context.

The person they are quoting is Sergio Aguza, Castilla captain. This is what he said originally:

"Martin salary? I think normally I would like to have what the rumors say he's getting (Laugh)"

Of course our friends at Marca came up with this "@MARCAinENGLISH: Aguza: "I'd like to be earning what they say Odegaard is getting"

Basically other papers and websites started catching on and it has spread. From a simple joke to him being unwanted, unwelcomed, and youth players jealous.

Makes me wonder why people take Marca seriously or even consider them a Madrid mouthpiece anymore, nothing but garbage and lies created for the purpose of clicks and internal conflicts. Thanks again Marca!
+4
Most likely the media exaggeration but when you think about it and try to put yourself in that situation of the players in RMC who he joins how would you feel? would you really feel like that amount of money is warranted for a young prospect? no matter how good he is shouldn't that money go to a proven winner?
+2
kid got stirred up by media BS and now its a story. It wreaks of BS. Unconfirmed salary is speculation at best. I dont contest that he is probably getting paid much more but until its revealed this is media fishing at work

I honestly am tired of seeing the unconfirmed salary and fee being speculated on. I await the real numbers till then this is the last story i will be clickbaited into
+3
Yeah, those reported figures are extreme even for Real Madrid. I think I also read somewhere that those figures originated in England? Never mind the mere speculation from an entirely different country, but they record player salaries differently there (I think they estimate the figures before taxes?).

My problem isn't really with the extreme figures being thrown around though, but with how some media sources are writing off Odegaard's future just because of a reputation Real Madrid developed at the turn of the decade. Even more so than in previous years, Real Madrid have actually started to pay more attention to youth development. Some sources even suggest Cheryshev and Casemiro's return if they keep up their good performances.
+2
I read Aguza's comment as mocking the media for reporting the salary they did, therefore he is obviously not getting paid anywhere near the suggested salary.
+4
Haven't you guys learnt not to trust the media so readily? I've long lost faith in responsible journalism. It seems these days, anyone can be a journalist. It's not just in the sporting realm that they're screwing up. Point to take is not to trust anything the media says till its set in stone.
+2
Just watched over the highlights of our last game and saw that CR7 was actually sent off for the perceived blow to the player's face and not the kick. So as quick as these officials are to punish shouldn't they also review the entire incident to examine if there was any provocation that lead to what happened. If there was any then any sanctions should be meeted out according and the player on the receiving end be also sanctioned as well. Fines would be a start as suspension would not be entirely warranted as all they did was to initiate the incident and that to me would discourage players from play acting to get a desired advantage.

So reports are picking up steam that we are seriousely considering bolstering our left back position, would most likely mean Coentrao will be leaving us.

Top of the list thus far

Speedy 19 year old Valencia defender Jose Luis Gaya U21 Spain player, Madrid said to be willing to meet his buyout.

http://www.cope.es/detalle/El-Real-Madrid-a-por-Gaya.html

And French national player and Varane friend Olympic Lyon 21 year old Samuel Umtiti.

http://deportes.atresmedia.com/jugones/real-madrid-sigue-samuel-umtiti_2015012800330.html
+1
I remember Tottenham playing Lyon a couple of seasons back in the Europa League and Umtiti scored an absolute screamer. He was outstanding that night for them - check out the highlights from that match for a good look at him. Also, in the same match Bale scored two direct free kicks, so there's that to look at also.
+1
Gaya is an amazing left back,we woulds be lucky to have him. Although Coentrao is the perfect backup for Marcelo,it is unfair to a player of his caliber to be content to be the second option.
Coentrao is much to injury prone IMO he is a solid left back but I think the team is really looking at someone that is going to challenge Marcelo for the start.

From what I have seen of Umtiti he looks like an absolute beast.
I've heard very good things about Gaya. Actually, I remember reading from a Madridista who likened him to Dani. He'd take little to no time to integrate. But this obviously means Coentrao's future at the club is put into question. Actually, I think the club have always been keen on transferring him ever since Mourinho left.

I can understand why the club might want to transfer Coentrao. Like Tharius mentioned, he's usually not available to call on. He tends to get injured during inopportune moments, sometimes when we don't even have Marcelo. Coentrao is a consistent LB with enough quality to start for a lot of top European clubs, but he's proven to be unreliable in the sense that you just never know when next he'll find himself in the infirmary. Otherwise, I've never really had any issues with him.

It will be hard to deal with Valencia though. They've always appeared to have something against us. And now, with their new owner, it will be even more difficult for Real Madrid to sign one of their players since wages won't be a major problem for their players. We could activate Gaya's buy-out clause right now, but Perez doesn't normally make such moves, and it'd be in poor sport too. If Gaya extends with Valencia, it will make signing him even more difficult.
If messi played with ronaldo there would be a goal scored every thirty minutes
Even though I don't like the idea...I think Messi would rack up on assists and Ronaldo would score 80+ goals a season.
I think their rivalry is healthy for their achievements.
+1
They could one day in the MLS :P you never know
The way Messi lifted the ball into the box for Alba, Ronaldo would've been drooling thinking of about the possibility
