So yeah CR7>Messi as of today. Don't argue with me.
+3
Was there ever any doubt? Haha (;

No but seriously messi went “messing” in action, again!
no, im sorry, cant blame messi. if you made messi just play uptop and not go into midfield, he would score more goals too. they're asking him to play #10 and control the game by picking up on the ball from the CBs, thats just way too deep to have your best player, way too far away from goal.

its difficult to compare players, but you cant compare the responsibility ronaldo has in this portugal side in terms of build up play and playmaking to the role messi is playing for argentina, i think they are asking too much to expect messi to pick up the ball from the CB and create/run an offense.it doesnt seem theres a plan or pattern of play either. Im sure messi could do it with the right tactics but i dont think the argentine coaching staff is up to the task from a tactical point of view.
If Messi thinks he can lead Argentina better if he played a different position, he probably would have done it. Its up to him to lead the team and he is doing a terrible job of it, and that is not up to the coach.

They still have a chance if they beat Nigeria. (because Nigeria beat Iceland). Messi will get one more go at it. Lets see if he can change things now that presumably he knows he needs to stay up front.

Pique nutmegged. So, that happened.

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Wow, Mexico played so well, I think they have a chance to win it all. I’m rooting for them. They play a beautiful football.
Lozano is great. Quick footed, quick thinker and ruthless. He can become a big one.
+1
Herrera as well. Every time I watch Mexico play, he is the key player, and never do I hear the praise his deserves.

I think all Mexico needs is BELIEF that they can win it all. That's all they need.
Interesting fact: country of Iceland has a population smaller than the number of registered Argentinian soccer players. They must be proud.

did De Gea also get hit by Ramos? I mean concussion...second goal...

only if it will sell tabloids.

Ronaldo's free kick yesterday very much looked like the one he scored against Portsmouth back in 07-08;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WmpgeY7tow
Slight change. He's added a bit of a spin to it, which I think he felt was necessary when the dead ball was failing so much lol.

My first thought was damn that's Portsmouth-esque!
Ronaldo’s free kick had “a bit” of a spin, like the earth has “a bit” of a spin around the sun (;

Wow Ronaldo. Just wow. Carrying a nation on his back year after year after year.

GOAT

Ronaldo single handedly brought Portugal level with Spain. The guy shows up when his team needs him, gotta give him that. That was some game though, from both sides.
******SPOILER ALERT******

So Saudi Arabia really botched up there it seems. Or are they exaggerating?

Either Russia is stronger that they say, or Saudi is/was terrible.
Mix of both. Saudi is trash but Russia have some good players that can surprise teams. Their game versus Egypt might decide who goes through.

Please do NOT buy these players:
1. De Gea
2. Hazard
3. Dybala
4. any other goalie
5. Boateng?! (In place of Verane?!)
6. Lawendowski

Spend it elsewhere.
Duly noted.

I'll pass it on to Perez.
Please don't buy Hazard

@Oddshot please pass it on to Perez
ddg signed a new 5yr deal
lol yes thank you Oddshot, please also let him know I am a free agent.
Isn't DDG a free agent next summer?

I love Navas and wanna keep him. Would not mind either Mbappe/Hazard but looks like it will be Neymar (ugh) instead. Anyone excited to see Vinicius Jr as well?
DDG just signed a 5 year deal w ManU yesterday.

I like Navas too. Would NOT like Hazard, but Mbappe I like.
I’m cautiously excited for Vinícius Jr.
As much as I don’t like Neymar’s character, he is an exciting player to watch and I would be most excited if he played for Real.
Lopetegui sacked by Spain. Can't really blame them if they really found out the way they said they did
I think it smells political. Looks like the new President of FA did not claim that Lopetegui would have been compromised in anyway in performance of his duties as manager of Spain for Worldcup. Instead, the sacking is in retaliation to Lopetegui making the agreement without informing FA until the deal was done.

Im not sure the sacking itself isnt the bigger “betrayal” of both Spain’s national team, and Lopetegui on an individual level. Essentially Spain will play the worldcup based on Lopetegui’s teachings, but without him there to take credit for his work. I donno.

Add to this the fact that this new President of Spanish FA is brand new to the job. He literally took over 1 month ago. Sacking Lopetegui is a win-win for the new President, because Lopetegui was not his pet project. This way, if Spain succeeds, the new President will get to add the success to his repertoire, and if Spain fails, its someone else's fault.
