Not feeling too good about facing Villareal at home. They're often a pain and have a good chance of forcing us to a draw or even beating us. At least we have Bale back now. Let's hope he shows us what we've been missing
+1
Calmness, boys, calmness. The league is still in our hands and we can't be slipping up now, this would be a colossal choke.

I think with Pepe back, I'd like to see him and Ramos take the starting spots from now on. Zidane also has to be reasonable in his selection. I agree with rotation in order to win the title, but sometimes it doesn't make much sense. We saw Isco deliver a MOTM performance last week and now he's on the bench against a dangerous Valencia? If he wanted to play James, it should have been Benzema starting this one on the bench.

Anyways, I was pretty sad about the result and the table doesn't look nearly as nice anymore, but we have to remember it is still in our hands at this point.
+1
Biggest ? of them all in yesterday's match. Why didn't Isco play? That was a match that he could have turned on it's head with his clear as crystal quality. Zidane blasts Madrid's slow start in post-match comments but what did HE do in response to that same slow start. I'll tell you.......take off Modric, leave on Benzema, leave on Kroos, allow the guys to constantly cross and cross and cross. Not a coach obviously but IMHO I believe had he taken off Kroos for Isco after the Varane sub he would have had Jmaes,Isco,Mods and Benzema that are very good with the ball at their feet to have gotten back into the game to have at least created better chances of tying the game. Made no sense bringing in players that are going to continually cross the ball in Bale and Vasquez when THAT tactic was clearly not working before bar 1 ONE opp that CR took and never again since.
pathetic performance
pathetic result
pathetic team

do the exact same thing year, after year, after year

the choking never stops
You guys shouldn't be worried. We will lose to Atletico this weekend and we are right back to 7 points.
I honestly thought Real Madrid played good (especially Ronaldo) despite the loss. Shambolic first 10 minutes or so.
We should have been able to beat this Valencia side. Shameful. As you said, we have a habit of choking when it matters
MessiEra

It doesn't matter how good we played. You dont go 2-0 down in 8 minutes at the Mestalla
Real didn't choke, Verane did. I don't know when we are going to put Verane on the bench, but in the meantime he will single handedly loose us points every so often. Verane chokes in difficult games, but for some reason we don't get rid of him. He was involved in both of Valencia's goals, plus another goof up that should have been scored. I'm TIRED of Verane.
Are you serious? Varane is your future. That guy plays well in most games. Every player makes mistakes.
It's either danilo or varane or some other scapegoat
If the strikers just took their chances and score more goals it won't be a problem
@S2killinit you're talking like a fan that just tuned in, FYI in that game yes Varane made mistakes but who hasn't and who hasn't MORE?? Marcelo on the 2nd goal was waaaaay out of position that he couldn't lend any defensive help smh as usual but on the first goal ZAZA made a play that could've beaten any defender....ANY!!!! Varane wasn't up to his usual standards I agree but the team as a whole fell completely apart in their defensive shape on both those goals especially the 2nd but this is football and it happens. The Mestalla is not a happy hunting ground for us and yesterday it once again showed. We need to control our play going forward so as not to be so caught out if it breaks down. Rarely do I ever see Barcelona taken apart like that if they lose the ball and for far too long our coaches allow our defenders to roam too much and suffer when they don't DEFEND which is the reason they're here in the first place.
Vaaz

"If the strikers just took their chances and score more goals it won't be a problem"

wtf is that suppose to mean.. so the defense can concede 2 goals in 8 minutes away from home in one of the toughest grounds in Spain and its not a problem?

The attack shouldn't be forced to score 3 goals away from home within the first 10 minutes of the match... as long as the defense is performing well, we have a chance of winning any match
+2
No, it just means the strikers should score more than 1 goal vs a team in the bottom half of the table, no matter how hard or tough the fixture is. Toughest grounds but Valencia have won merely 3 games at home all season before this one.

Went down 2-0 in barely 10 mins, not after 85th min, that is still 80 mins to get their act together and score 2 or 3 goals. Dont tell me Real Madrid attack is not enough to score 3 goals, in any f*****g game....

Defence was bad but strikers have been missing so many chances game after game its become second nature to miss a simple chance than to score off it.
DaGAza, I think it matters how you play because there's still so many games left to play before the season is over.
vaaz

I get what ur saying.. but its easier said than done. Even barca or atleti's attack would very likely not have scored 3 goals in that game... Valencia with a 2 goal lead at home parking the bus completely.. doesn't matter if they are 15th.... its tough to break them down under those circumstances.

The defense needs to give the team a better chance.. we concede too many stupid goals and then we gotta go and fix the mess. We have scored in 43 consecutive matches (a club record).. so if the defense were able to keep clean sheets at least vs the teams below 7th, and at least at home games, we would be much further ahead in this league.
Did anyone else notice the "cucumber" comment by BeIN Sport announcer when Barca conceded the goal against CD Leganes? lol I didn't hear it at first. Had to rewind it. Couldn't believe my ears. Frustration got to him.
Lol what did he say?
+2
They were talking about the "cucumber boys" which is the nickname for the CD Leganes. When they scored, he was speaking excitedly and said something along the line of "putting their cucumber in a very sensetive spot" lol I died of laughter. Couldn't believe it.
Quality commentating hahahaha
Was it Ray?
http://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/alves-those-who-run-barcelona-have-idea-how-treat-their-players-5848530

Dani Alves explains the reason why he left. I think Barca's current management is ruining the team with dumb transfers and a lack of respect for players. Even Messi has been quite disgruntled with the board on a number of occasions.
Not surprised at all and TBH expect more players to speak against this board once they leave/retire.
I don't blame him, if that's the case for him leaving, then so be it. He won. If he was still here for them, he could still but in a good shift in the RB position where they are struggling. I guess karma really is a bi***.
I meant to post this on the Barca page actually, wanted to see what some of you guys thought.

I think the management's poor choices are going to hurt their team further, you can't be disrespecting vital players like Dani Alves.
There is a reason most of our recent ex players have said s**t about our management even when on surface they should be happy as same management have let most of them leave on favorable terms.

Abidal is prime eg of what this management have been doing. They simply don't fulfill their promises.
Am not sure whether people remember here about Dani alves form before lucho taking over coaching job.He had been piss poor during that time and majority of cules wanted him to leave the club ,especially because he is one of the most highly paid player who wasn't doing his job.The very same people were criticizing board to not sell him for to bring a good rb.given his age,it is understandable that board were reluctant at first giving him three years contract extension which he was asked.most of us thought his days are numbered and nobody expected his resurgence.

I can understand why he is pissed about not getting renewed as he was long serving member of our team ,at the same time we have to understand the board standing as well.

I am not implying this board is saint, they have done plenty of wrong in their tenure, but IMHO their stand to dani was right!

Now I know why Benzema can't score much with those "legs"

honestly, horrible ref came to save Barcelona yet again. Terrible. Terrible. Laligalona indeed.
+8
Leganes out played them. Barca have the ref to thank again
+4
That's an obvious penalty if that what you meant.
+4
I think it was very lenient actually. Basically the ref called the game at the 88th minutes. (its not the first time either, it seems last minute penalties happen a lot with Barcelona. They do have the record for the most penalties also, according to BeIN sport) Even the pro Barcelona commentator said "there will be a lot of controversy about that penalty call."

And then there was the other incident in Barca's half where the striker was one on one with the goalie, now I don't pretend to be sure about that one because for some reason they only showed it from behind even on replay. But if defender's legs had any contact, even the slightest, it should have been an automatic red card. We won't know of course because the camera didn't do its job.
+2
.
S2killinit: So the defender tackles, doesn't touch the ball and neymar almost flips over - but it isn't a penalty? If you bring down a player without making contact with the ball, its a textbook foul. If that foul occurs in the box, its a penalty. That rule doesn't change because Barça are getting the penalty in the 90th min or because your feelings are getting hurt.

Also, Mathieu ran with the attacker, made normal contact while toeing the ball away. The attacker runs further and loses his balance and you want a red card? If we follow your rules, then Neymar should have had several of his defenders sent off just this season. And don't even get me started on the penalties. We had villareal defender intentionally handling and blocking messi's shot, and no penalty was given. You're talking about penalties given to Barça? Maybe if neymar was playing in 1977, this wasn't a penalty. At least pretend to be objective before giving your biased opinion. I don't know if you were watching beinsport Real Madrid, but my beinsport commentator said it was a stupid tackle by the defender. Funnily enough he was on a yellow and didn't get sent off even though he had already body checked messi 8 mins earlier. I suppose you missed that too.

14 vs 11 and league titles....

Bale coming back from injury has officially ended Barca's season. Bale for half a season is better than Neymar for two seasons.
+12
I didn't mean to like to this troll. How do I unlike this? I couldn't unlike from my phone. :( Somebody please help me before this delusional 4 goes nuts!! HELP!!
+1
I agree with Dan, but in those 2 seasons Neymar has won more trophies than Arsenal have in a decade 😂
+5
I don't understand why an Arsenal fan is trolling a barca forum and giving praise to an ex-spurs player????
+10
lol, real madrid forum, either way, giving praise to an ex-spurs player is not permitted, arsenal fan rules 101
+5
@Gotibra, you referring to this page as the "barca forum" is actually not inaccurate. They visit this page more.
+7
oh s**t.. i didn't mean to like his post too.. oh crap, how do i like it for real now?
+10
That's a classic post of a troll.

No surprise troll prefer a player that has turned into a professional patient and part time footballer over a player that has been performing constantly.

@Mods, can anyone please explain how he keeps on getting away with this on regular basis ?
+5
^because its not on the barca forum, so he can say what he wants about barca/their players. Liverpool fans talk s**t about united on their forum (and vice versa) but you dont see anybody complaining. Now quit your moaning and stop takin the bait lol
+5
Same as us chelsea fans we troll wenger and arsenal but you never see any arsenal fans on here moan about it.
+5
Justin Trudeau > Trump!

In fact Canada > The great U.S!
+1
He's not a troll. Just a thumbs-up-whore.
+4
These peeps with bloated ego keep taking the bait and spewing abuse each time someone mentions barcas name.. looks like the only thing they teach in la Masia successfully is how to take the bait lol

@Raj, do you get Real or Bayern fans taking a piss at arsenal on Chelsea forum every other day?

When a Chelsea fan take swing at arsenal on their own forum it makes sense, when a Chelsea fan seems more interested in talking s**t about bayern on BVB forum then to give two shits about Chelsea, well that doesn't make much sense.
+1
Lol dan could be a madrid and arsenal fan.
For example i like chelsea from epl and atletico from la liga. Nothing wrong with that.
But anyway just ignore it bro...everytime you respond you lose.
+2
This guy is so rarely on the Arsenal forum, I don't really believe he is an Arsenal fan.

The majority of his posts are Madrid-orientated.
+6
^yeah, that's what some people don't understand here! Imo he is an old real Madrid troll who came back with arsenal colour.

Anyways our fans have to learn the art of ignoring his obvious trolling post as well, why bother replying on someone who said publicly that he hates barca and their fans, unless he is in our forum.
