So Danilo is gone , whats our next option now ? Danilo was my first choice followed by De sciglio and Coleman , but both of them are having very bad season :/

at this point i think i would prefer to have alves renewed for another season or get bartra to play as RB then to buy anyone ,

BTW am i the only one who wont mind paying alves s**t load of money and agree to all of his demands if that means we spoil PSG transfer plans ? i would hate to sell any of our player to PSG especially after how they have f****d with us for last 3 transfer windows -_-
Messi out for 3-4 weeks :(
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Now its up to PSN :l wait is he out for the 1st leg against PSG too?
From where you get this news dude?is it real or are you celebrating fool's day?
+1
Its not April from where im at. But if its an april fools joke, you cold hearted xD
+1
lol nice try
I'm not sure where you live but it's not even 12 here yet haha. But nice try still, just read that Messi had a swollen toe and should be able to play normally in a couple of days.
what?!? when??!
^ on april 1st ;)

Portugal lost 0-2 at home to their former colony Cape Verde. Hah!

Madrid signed danilo officially. What is barca doing when we actually need a rb?
Banned from signing?
+1
WTF? Why? Carvajal must be pissed.
+1
Signing makes no sense to me. It's like when Mourinho signed Luis when he has Azpi
It's called Perez hijacking policy,happened it before too..carvajal would leave soon or danilo making a mistake of his life by choosing to sit on bench..
+1
They got him for 31M , our board would have paid 45M easily ;)
if Spain keep getting handled like this...Del Bosque's time will run out as Manager....Albiol is a terrible defender
+1
It's friendly with second strings of players.I don't think this match does make difference for vdb..
it can also be argued the same for netherlands so what does that say? that Netherlands have a better bench or better young players or was it team selection. its not going well for spain ATM... Memphis Depay is a hell of a player easily could become a world class player
I think both teams have bunch of great young talents,but Spain's selection today is just meh,if that's what you meant in your first post,then I agree with you..
I remember Spain being smacked 4-1 by Argentina and 4-0 by Portugal after Spain won the world cup. Didn't mean jack

World XI 2005 vs. 2014

http://i.imgur.com/OGdSv7R.jpg
vs.
http://tinyurl.com/WORLDXI2014

So many great players in 2005. Who would win? I think 2005 has it, if Messi doesn't perform. The defense and midfield is WAY better but it gets interesting in attack. 2014's only chance really is if Messi performs to be honest. Otherwise, it's an uphill battle from the first minute for 2014.
Neither team has a defensive mid so it boils down to whoever can score the most goals. Nobody is more clinical than Messi and C.Ronaldo. 2014 wins for me.
Remove sideshow Bob and replace him with Godin of 2014 then even 2014 team will have decent chance
+2
@Alf

But a midfield of Kaka, Zidane and Pirlo > Iniesta Kroos Di Maria

Especially since 2014 has Luiz and Ramos in defence, I could easily see Eto and Henry taking advantage of the yards of space b behind them. And don't forget what Dinho did to the best of them!

@Malik

The only thing that's making me think 2014 has a chance is if Messi puts in a good performance.. because he would have to control the tempo of the game. And that would be a tough task when the midfield consists of Zidane and Pirlo
+2
@St1or
You're not taking into account team tactics. You assume Luiz and Ramos would leave "yards of space behind them." What if 2014 didn't play the offside trap?

There would be some tasty matchups, that's for sure. Lahm vs Dinho. T.Silva vs. T. Henry.

I would agree that Kaka, Zidane and Pirlo > Iniesta Kroos Di Maria in terms of creativity but not defensively. With the right tactics, 2014 could win by a large margin. Imagine 2014 playing on the counter. Messi feeding Ronaldo and Robben? No way that 2005 defense and midfield could stop them.
@alf

Imagine Henry/Eto/Dinho playing on the counter with Kaka acting as a cam and Zidane/Pirlo acting as deep lying playmakers.. and I'm just going by general tendencies Ramos and Luiz have. They are awful defenders.
+1
You can't play on the counter if I play on the counter first :P

T. Silva and Lahm are better than any of the 2005 defenders though. Cannavaro and Terry without 1-2 DMs in front of them will be a piece of cake for Messi, Ronaldo, and Robben. Hell, a fully fit Messi is better than half the 2005 team alone. Messi can dribble defenders and defensive mids like they're not even there. Kaka, Zidane, and Pirlo were never great defenders. In contrast, Di Maria will hound the opposition midfield.

And think about set pieces. T. Silva, D. Luiz, Sergio Ramos, and C. Ronaldo. You're screwed. Terry can't mark them all and Cannavaro is 5 foot nothing.
@Alf

point taken. rebuttal will ensue:

I don't think Silva is as good as Cannavaro was.

And Di Maria 'hounded' our MF but whenever we played better in midfield, di maria was silent. Kroos is a liability in defence and Iniesta isn't known for his defending either. Meanwhile, Zidane played deeper and deeper for France and Pirlo plays as a CDM for Juve for quite a while now.

Defence of 2005 is slightly better imo, only because the 2014 has Ramos and Luiz. The midfield battle is easily won by 2005.. my only concern is that 2014 has Messi and any team with Messi in it would have a chance against the best of them.
+1
DM is not the same as deep-lying playmaker. Pirlo has Vidal and Pogba defending in front of him. I don't think of Pirlo as the traditional DM who covers for his more attack-minded midfielders.

I think we can agree on one thing: there will be tons of goals in a back-and-forth open match. Kind of like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiPlPp6SKD0
I would solve this,play busi instead kroos,all legendary players struck in the middle,2014 will be a easy winner..
This has to be one of the saddest pictures I've ever seen (barca wise)

:'(

I was really upset when Puyol retired. I can't imagine what it will be like when Iniesta hangs his boots.. or worse, when Messi retires :(
+3
Puyol, Xavi, and Valdes, all gone, it just shocks me to think that they won't be playing anymore since I've seen the 3 of them with Barca for such a long period of the time I've been watching football
One day it'll be Messi. that is the day I will stop paying taxes or do groceries.
@Manbearpig, Joining him behind bars eh?

Don't know what's wrong , almost every neymar opponent wants to break his legs .

Gary thug medel just literally stomped on neymars leg in a f*****g freindly match and got away with it .
+1
Gary Medel is a renown douche, nothing new from him.
+6
Medel is such a thug! I am half Chilean and even I can acknowledge that he is a pit-bull worthy of the Pepe badge of outstanding brutishness
+5
yeah such a dirty move, what inspires players to try this crap when cameras are on everyone all the time and they will eventually get caught? i hope he gets a long ban, really disgusting behavior.

and with neymar, bro i know it hurts but man up, you'd think he got his leg brutally hacked off with a rusty fork. sometimes i think he does it to get the attention of the ref but honestly seeing reactions like that give me anxiety lol.
+3
@SIF

Do you play football at all?
Che, can we bury the pepe hatchet ? I believe a man can change in rare instances. It seems he has made improvements in his character to no longer labeled as a thug. Not that he is perfect but he isn't close to the same level he was befofe
+2
SIF, yes Neymar does overreact and sometimes dives, (although nowhere as much as he used to) but it's these horrible referees that refuse to give him calls that cause him to overreact. Neymar is the most fouled player in Europe's top 5 leagues at one point this season and I wouldn't doubt that he still is. He takes hits when playing against every opponent. His overreaction is the result of the refs missing easy calls so that he has to pretend to be hurt for them to recognize that these things can easily injury players. Muscles are very sensitive part of the human body when targeted and injuries could last weeks and months because the refs never pay attention to bad intentions of players.

As for the diving I can't justify. I hope that Neymar stops diving all together in his career. He has already come a long way from his times at Santos where he looked for the contact every time. But yeah I consider any player who dives not a great footballer because they lack the ability to execute their plan. Diving is a sign of weakness and giving up on your original plan to get through a defense.
hazard and messi get slaughtered every match, don't really see them with the same histrionics there as neymar.

at st1or, i'm sorry, how is that relevant? you better not be talking about pain threshold, ive taken way more damage than neymar did in that stamp and ive never carried on like i've been sprayed with machine gun fire.
You've taken way more damage playing football than neymar? Are you talking about the same sport because last time I checked he's playing at the highest level not you.

Anyway there is no justification for diving. But there are times when he just gets knocked down easily because of his frail physique. Defenders also try to hurt him because he tries tricks and nobody likes to get humiliated on the field by the opponent. I think play acting is a result of referees not applying the laws of the game evenly. Experienced defenders use the refs inability to officiate evenly very well by roughing up players which results in the player overreacting to get even.
Level of football doesn't mean the physicality isn't worse that is absolutely sure. Not so many cameras in some leAgues
@SIF

I only said that because sometimes the smallest knocks can be painful as f**k. I've broken and fractured many bones before (foot, nose, wrist, etc.) but I've had a kick to the shin feel more painful than a fractured wrist.

This is why players should receive better protection from the refs. If challenges like that were punished more severely more often, players wouldn't need to overreact like that to get the ref's attention.
no franky, im comparing the stamp to damage done in real life, real trauma, not just getting stamped on.

ok st1or, fair enough, but not many nerve ending where he got stamped, just saying. i'm sure it hurt, of course, but it looks like he's being tortured or possessed and i found that disturbing. i've had fractures and my finger tips 3quarters sliced off, i'd say that's worse than a stamp and i didn't carry on like that. seeing that on the pitch i'd be rather alarmed and concerned. for him to just get up and continue playing makes me a little irritated.
