Why does Ronaldo get injured right before a major tournament? Last time he got injured was before World Cup and now he gets injured again just before Euro.
what a shame to watch a semi final champions league match with such a poor level from both side especially city team...cant really understand how such a team plays a semi final.... i believe sivilla or villareal would have challenged real madrid more than what city did... i really laugh when i just compare the semi final between athli and bayern to this shameful semi final ... its a total crap ...
+1
This would happen if two average teams somehow reaches semi final faces each other.have to say, yesterday we have seen a proper ucl semi and today we had seen a europa league semi final(hope I didn't disrespect any of team which are playing in europa semis).
We thrashed Villareal a couple of weeks ago. City are a decent team since they beat PSG pretty well, but they were toothless against us. No game plan. Made for a really slow and controlled game from us.
+2
^lol
+2
@hikmat,good narrating of a europa match;)
Alrighty guys, have a good day while you rant about the luck Real is getting on footytube. You win some you lose some, try to lose the bitterness considering you didn't even play today.
+2
Tanmay: As a mod are you able to see who "likes" posts? I'm curious about these madrid like ninjas. Lol A post is made and there is a like immediately. Its almost like someone is watching us all the time. ;)
+1
Very random, but Soldado has quietly reinvented himself at Villarreal. He now has more assists in a season for Villarreal than anyone else in the club's history. Which is not the greatest achievement but still a pretty solid one.
+3
Pellegrini is such a clown. I don't understand how he manages to set up his team to be so... nonexistent. Their players didn't join attack, they didn't join defense. Just like first match.
+3
The current Zidane, Guardiola or Simeone would offer more in midfield than Yaya Touré. Touré went from one of the best midfielders in the world to an old, lazy man in under 2 years.
He needs to go to China.
+1
He is lazy but today he wasn't fit. The senile old man is Pellegrini who insists playing him no matter what
Superb achievement by Real , they're the first team in history to Reach CL final directly from Europa League :D
+13
Roma, Wolfsburg, city.

Meanwhile atletico had to go through two fcb's and we had to beat every league champion to win our UCL title.
+1
Too lazy to find the exact data but even Atleti this season have beaten quite a number of Champions to reach Finals.
Look at the road to the final: Barca, Atletico, Bayern and Juve on one side. Europa League and Madrid on the other. LOL
+2
Not exactly. We beat Juventus, PSG, Ajax, Bayern and city. And we beat atleti during the league last year.

Atletico beat PSV, barca, bayern and Benfica.

Only two of the top 4 leagues.
and the worst part is... we could still win it and get this forum saltier than it already is :))))
+7
Haha DaGaza , i thought you guys like Banter ? Glad to see we got an upgrade from being obsessed to being Salty.
+6
Lol Don't worry. If you win this ucl we will add it to the other 5 with am asterisk an fine print next to it.
Also I just don't see this Madrid side scoring against Atletico.

Edit: Unless they massively improve in 20 days of course.
As you say, godin gonna score an incredible own goal.that's how real win each games.
Come on now, you KNOW what will happen. Real gets a bunch of joke teams and then in the final the best team of Europe atm, Atlético, will fail or get unlucky.

It is known.
+1
The biggest disappointment has to be DeBruyne. I had hopes from him but he barely got one pass right the whole game.
+3
What is he and Aguero supposed to do? Without silva there is no creativity in city. They were just passing the ball to navas and then navas would run into defenders. No supporting runs from midfield.

The other semi final was a tactical battle. This was amateur hour.
+3
Yeah he was way below par for sure, but I didn't think he was the biggest disappointment. He was constantly surrounded by Madrid players and literally had no one to pass the ball to except with a long crosspass, for which you need room to kick it.

The City midfield was terrible. They never connected with the attack when City were on Real's half. It's like they played for that 1-0 loss instead of for the win.
De Bruyne was poor but it's difficult when Pellegrini has no gameplan. And playing next to horrible players like Navas and Sterling, and lazy Yaya doesn't help.
This city team needs to be dismantled. Apart from kdb, Hart and maybe aguero, none of the players are elite.
Well yeah he got no help but I think he also bottled it individually. I am fairly certain his pass % was much lower than average today. As an attacker, more than once he made elementary mistakes at the end of a good move. The side-netted freekick in the 90th was a textbook case of a young player failing to keep things simple.

Still think he is one of the brightest young talents in the world. But after watching this I think he needs more exposure to big matches on the world stage. He should be looking forward to Guardiola's arrival, as should the rest of City.
+1
It is a mix of a lot of things.

City did not get any passes right. All Aguero/KdB's tricks were well countered by the Real defenders far too easily.

Pellegrini has had only two modes - kamikaze and shut-shop. I would have prefered if he used his kamikaze mode of madness this time
+1
Yeah Tomi, this reminded me a lot of the United vs Barca 1-3 CL final. City looked very tentative throughout the game, trying to play a game that they are just not built to play.
@Tomikato . Pellegrini had tried to Shut shop before in CL and failed most of the time , the one time he went for controlled kamikaze they knocked out one of the favorites to win the title in PSG .

I would love to know his though process behind trying and repeating the failed strategy once again , also on another day real could have easily walked out with 4-5 goals from this sort of match , this is been easily one of the worse park the bus i have seen.
@Malik - exactly. Not once in the game we looked like we "wanted" to score. We could had played with some more courage.

FYI - we would all love to know his thought process. He has not found a middle ground much. We have been very toothless and tired in the league as well this year.

We still have a lot of work to do and get CL for next year
@Tomikato , I have posted this before on FT , Pellegrini is good but not a top level manager , i am actually surprised he survive for this long at City.
City is s**t and madrid can't score on this team. It should have been an atletico-bayern final. This is probably the worst semi final tie I've seen in the last few years. Winning off an own goal.
+6
Completely, 100% agreed. Real was actually poor but that was masked by a pathetic, amateurish and lacklustre performance of City. And that in their first ever semi-final where they only needed ONE goal!!

Unbelievably poor from City. They didn't even seem to try.
Madrid were actually poor? LMAO
^ great counter argument.
+5
no one ain't arguing.. they got the entire game on camera so i got no need to argue and the game i just watched from their camera had a completely dominant Madrid who should have had at least 4 goals...

maybe we watched different games... so...again.. Madrid were actually poor? LMAO
+1
^great arguments tho,lol.
It was poor. Seriously watch the game. City had no structure. When you watch the highlights keep an eye on their midfield. They were playing without any formation. The way their defense was set up madrid should have got at least 3 goals. Compared to yesterday's game this was sub standard. But what do I know? I don't wear Blanco glasses.
+1
Franky you watching madrid waste time?
Lol I was about to say if keylor spoke to Oblak before the game. You're not making a good argument mate. Madrid don't usually waste time unlike atletico. Sorry its a bad comparison you're making.
+1
Wtf how? Did you see that throw in around 77th minute where Carvajal and Modric were just standing there and not taking the throw in? Then Navas limps off and wastes 3 minutes. And that's them playing at home again Shitty. You think Atletico wouldn't waste time against Bayern?

You just have a blind hate on Atletico and everything they do you point it out. But when I point out other teams doing it, you're response is oh they don't usually do it or oh its against Atletico so it's ok lol. Sorry bud but stop hating and just admit Atletico knocked the s**t out of us fair and square.
No. Sorry I don't. Blind hate is when you don't have a credible argument. I've been okay with them for the past few years but they've taken their s**t to another level. You have to be blind to not notice their s**t. The internet is full of comments praising them but almost everybody is noticing that they play dirty. Its like you're trying too hard to support them by making false equivalencies with every one.
+3
And for the record, you can go back and check my comments. I never said anything about them knocking us out. My comments about their play were before they played us and after their malaga game. My only problem with our game vs atletico was not the penalty but the ref not giving a single yellow card until the 67th min. Don't misrepresent what I said.
+1
I don't know what are you making here Ali.they're an incredible side which needs to be respected for sure, but at the same time, they're very dirty and the only reason they're escaping from all the wrath from pundits and fans are they emerged as a team who can end dominance of two most hated giants in Spain.just like Frankie said, the day atleti face an English team the day whole world hell loose of simioni tactics.
I never said they don't play dirty. They do. More so than other teams. But other teams play dirty too. It's like you don't see anybody else's faults except Atletico's.

You say I don't have a credible argument lol you don't have a credible argument. Calling Oblak a cheat for wasting time on goal kicks lolol. Yeah he should hurry and take the kicks right? That's a refs job to decide how long he takes. Not even going to mention Ronaldo's basketball skills. Only if that was an Atleti player
Again. When you say other teams play dirty too you're running in to bullshit territory. Nobody tosses the ball onto the field to stop a counter attack. Maybe you've seen other teams do it but I'm my 20 years of watching football this is the first time I've seen a coach do it.
Oblak wastes time in the 10th min. Come on man. What are you talking about. You can commit murder or you can commit a robbery. Both are crimes but there is a difference between the two criminals.

Cr7 grabbed the ball because he saw he was offside. Sorry you're making terrible arguments.
