Barça 2 Valladolid 1 by jordixana

This was my first on the Barcelona forum, but if you Cules would like me to continue providing you guys with embedded highlights because the highlights provided by Footytube might not be sufficient, just let me know and I'll try and do this every match day.

For highlights involving all of La Liga, I can post 50 minute highlights on the Primera forum whenever the latest highlights episode comes out. I've done it twice already.
+6
You are awesome bro. Please upload as much as you can, ill provide you with some links if needed and alot of thumbs up!
+1
Sure. If anyone would like to provide me with highlights they think is best, just send them on Meebo whether I'm on or offline and I'll see to them whenever possible.
Yeah dude this would be much appreciated, our mod unfortunately doesn't share the same fervor for la liga :(
http://twitpic.com/crssr0

Haha, silly Song.
+3
hahahaha lol
+1
That's what happens when you get transferred from Arsenal lol
+1
Song: FINALLY! After all these years I've waited I finally get to...after you Abi...
+4
That's kind of embarrassing. Don't even think it is funny. I feel bad for him.
I cringed when I saw that.. so embarrassing for him and I guess I have a bad sense of humour because that wasn't funny at all
lol I can't tell if Song did that on purpose or not.
hahahaha i love how he tries to play it off
I hope he's strong-willed enough not to let that put him down a bit. It's one of those things you feel embarrassed by if only two of your friends see it, so imagine what it's gotta feel like when the whole world does (and makes memes from it).
Also notice the staff member laughing at the back lol
bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
To be fair to him Puyol did walk straight towards him and Abidal was behind him haha
these kind of moment we all are faced atleast once in our life span.but we are all good enough to recover from those kind of embarrassment and after years we will have good laugh on that matter.I hope song also do the same and that not let him down.
All of those kids from our players... They score left and right, and off the pitch too.
+2
Maybe that explanes some players's performances lately! cough Piqué cough cough...
Thiago Messi's first time appearance in Camp Nou!
To be continued...
He's tall enough to be one of our defenders or the goalkeeper though ;)
+3
Thiago is so cute. The best part of this is seeing all of the kids and the players goofing around.

Really happy to see Abidal in a great mood. Glad we had something to celebrate this season :)

He is very cute .
He looks strangely like John Terry...
+1
lol
He looks exactly like Messi, almost as tall as him too
Lol, Thiago looks exactly like Leo already! Lets hope his footballing skill and love for Barca carries on as well
Pedro how do you miss that?
It's not surprising considering it is Pedro. I hope Barca sells him this summer.
+1
and I hope you get your mind back
+10
Why on Earth would you want to sell the ambidextrous Pedro? He works like a dog to pressure, and create space. He can assist and has the ability to beat his man most of the time. Pedro is perfect for his position. Plus he has a great shot with both feet, which is hard to find.
Thought only Alexis has haters? Lol, dont forget pedro's goals in CL finals,el clasicos and so many big games. If he gets his form back, he will be very very useful.
Sanchez vs. Pedro [2012-13]:
Games: 42 vs. 41
Goals: 10 vs. 7
Assists: 43 vs. 28

Sanchez > Pedro

^BD has a nice little point there lol

Although it would be mad to toss Pedro out of the picture so readily. We don't need to sell anyone up front in my opinion, we have proven forwards who all seemed to have a bad year. I see no reason to panic up front, although getting Neymar would certainly satisfy our HUGE NEED FOR A BRAZILIAN! lol Barca has always had a great Brazilian on the team and Alves is just simply not cutting it as our forward anymore lol He needs drastic work on his crosses.
Um those numbers don't seem right. They have 28 and 43 assists in one season?
+3
BD, where the hell do you get your stats from? Certainly not from those Barça website links you presented to us. Alexis has no where near 43 assists, nor does Pedro have anything close to 28. Not that that's bad, it's just ridiculous to think either have that many assists. I think neither of them even have half as many.

edit:

Alexis 10 goals and 13 assists in 44 Barça games this season (2532 minutes played).
Pedro has 8 goals and 11 assists in 42 Barça games this season (3199 minutes played).

Far less impressive than the Iniesta-like stats you posted. Definitely good enough to not even think about selling either of them.
+4
Jeroen, I got my stats from the links I posted in my reply. Check them before you make your allegations.

Even if your stats are accurate:

Sanchez > pedro

this is achieved with Sanchez in less minutes played as per your un-cited source.
Are stats how you judge players only? I suppose Xavi isn't that great either, I suppose you think we should sell Iniesta and buy Mata instead?
+1
Barcelona stats are ridiculous, even you should have seen that when you were typing it. I would expect a fan to have seen enough games to know that those numbers are very far off from reality.

I still think it is ridiculous to say that we get rid of one of the important cogs to how we play.

Barca "fans" are far too spoiled and don't understand how the system works. They don't realize that we win games because our forwards always track back and that is something which is tough to teach a player. Not only that but Pedro's movement and linking up with our current players is overlooked.
How the hell does Montoya not start for us? He Every game he plays, he is the best RB we have by far. Our best youngster in my opinion, no reason to keep him on the bench
+3
Yup, he's our biggest talent next to Thiago. Awesome right-back. Very reliable in defence, very useful in attack.
+1
Haha, and of course then he makes his first bad mistake of the season.
+1
Lol, oh well, I put more blame on Jonathan for that for trying to show off
Well to be fair he did get the ball
Ya Thiago needs a starting spot asap. This whole bench thing is not right.
Who do you suggest he starts over?
Knowing Yousif, he probably wants him to replace Pique
+1
This may sound crazy at first but just think about it. I suggest he starts over Xavi in the easier games. Xavi is getting older and more injury prone. I think it's time we use Xavi more wisely than throwing him into games and risk him getting hurt. This way when we have big games coming up we know Xavi is fit. Having a system like this is better for the team.

Im not sure people realize but Thiago is the closest thing we have to Xavi. He fits the position better than Fabregas does. He has the second best passing accuracy on the team, he is versatile with his passes and can make any pass Xavi can make with deadly accuracy. He dribbles and has the flair of a Brazilian, He plays with Barcelona DNA, and he Defends like an Italian. His creativity in midfield is unmatched, which leaves him very unpredictable like he has proven over and over again.

He has this all at such a young age, with the fitness to attack and defend all game. Xavi is too old to be chasing people down in full sprints for 90 minutes, do you not agree? The more a player can put in the easier it makes it on the rest of the players.
+2
You simply cannot and do not have a player play all the "easy" games while the other plays all of the "big" games. It takes away the whole point of motivating players and is poor man management.

Thiago should be starting more games than he is though while Xavi shouldn't be playing as many as he has.

May just be me but I think you're talking Thiago up a little too much... "defends like an Italian," "Creativity in midfield is unmatched" not quite sure he is at that level yet.
I don't understand Tito... We already won the cup. Xavi, Iniesta, Busi, Mascherano all need rest. I don't understand why Bartra doesn't play. So annoying that we are wasting talent and experience like this.

This is why I prefer Guardiola. We discovered the best CDM in the world by playing a youngster which is Busquets, and now other talents are being deprived of their potential for a pointless record.
+3
They need rest? Why? For what game should they be rested?

edit: Messi should be rested (and he is), because he's injured and we shouldn't take a chance to aggravate it. But the rest are all fit IMO.
Maybe because the league is won and they started all season?
Exactly, the season is over. They have plenty of time to rest now. Besides, Xavi and Iniesta were rested all the time during the season, especially Xavi. Just check how few minutes he played even though he was never injured this season.

edit: just looked it up. Both Iniesta and Xavi used to play about 4500-5000 minutes a year before, this year both have 'only' played 3500. And only Iniesta suffered an injury, and that was way in the beginning of the season.
Jeroen don't you think that's still a lot? If we won the trophy why not give the youngsters experience as they are our future. The beginning of the season is very important and Tito will be less likely to start them at all in the beginning of the season for fear they might mess up. If we give them experience in games like this maybe one or two can prove to Tito that he shouldn't fear giving them a start, and that they can handle their own if he chooses them.

Busquets, Pedro, Bojan, Jeffren, and many more were given chances to play. Busquets and Pedro are now starters for the team from a young age because Pep gave them a chance to prove themselves and they did! Hell Busquets replaced Yaya Toure, who's arguably in the top 3 midfielders in the EPL. Even those that couldn't convince our coach were swept away as soon as the summer came because the whole world realized the amount of talent we are producing at the moment.

That led us to all our success so why stop what's producing success?
+2
I think it would be a bit insulting to the fans that still bought tickets to the game to not stick any of their favorite players in.

Also it would be unfair to the youth to all be stuck in there with no veterans simply because they need to learn from playing WITH them, its not like they will all be on try outs and shown off with no backbone.

They should be playing less of the starters though, I agree. Because the fans also want to see the stars of the future since we got pretty battered in the other two competitions we didn't win.
Totally agree with you @YousifSaid. I thought there will be thiago, montoya, tello, bartra and deolofu in the starting line up.This shows Tito has no faith in youngsters.Similarly the youth players will think there is no room for further development at barca. They will force move from camp nou. Thats why cuenca is staying at ajax for one more season. If Tito dont play our youngsters properly barca will surely miss them permanently.

I dont understand what Tito is expecting. The 100 point mark is not at all important than playing our future talents.Again and again overplay the starting 11 and cause more to have injury. The team looks tired and have no sharpness.
+1
Yousif, I agree I'd like to have seen more young blood in yesterday's game, but the most important youngsters, Montoya and Thiago, did play. Bartra isn't good enough for us, that much is clear to me after this season. He has been average in the games he played where we won, because he had little work to do. When he was called on upon in more difficult games, he always let us down.

Montoya and Thiago are the future though. Both are phenomenal talents in their positions. And both played in yesterday's game. I think it's a bit rude to not trust in the judgement of Tito Vilanova when it comes to our youngsters too. After all, he was Pep's right-hand man forever, and he was one of the main reasons we did so well in all these years. His knowledge of our youth far exceeds ours (we don't know how they perform in training, if they really are as good as we hope they are, if they show ambition and professionalism at the same time, whether they have margins for growth left...) and I think it's safe to say Tito is probably better at judging their potential ability to fit in this Barça team than any of us is.

So, my point is that the two most promising talents did play yesterday, and the others might not (yet) be good enough. Jonathan dos Santos might not yet get the nod because he's competing for a CM spot, the most occupied spot at Barcelona. And Deulofeu was poor in the games he played for the A-team so far, but he's very young and can definitely still become one of our stars. Then there's Muniesa, Rafinha, Sergio Roberto and Sergi Gomez from the B-team, but neither is probably good enough. Otherwise we'd have seen them before, often.

I dispute your statement Tito doesn't give the youths a chance as well. Tello started to blossom under him, didn't he? And Thiago and Montoya continue to grow under his tutelage as well. You might even say Jordi Alba is a youngster that started to rule the Barça pitch as a left-back under him as well. And next year I'm sure we'll see more new top talent come up. But right now, even though there's seemingly nothing to win left, the core players like Xavi and Iniesta (who, I repeat, have NOT played that many games this season) deserve to have some fun too.
@Jeroen

Bartra has given little chance to play before Bayern game. How can you argue a youngster without proper first team action should perform well in a match like that.Even the veterans failed.Tito didnt give proper chance to youngsters until the injury crisis came. Then suddenly he rushed the youngsters into first team. Then how can they perform well?
Also if an youngster performed poor in 1 or 2 match that doesn't mean he is less talented and should not give any chance. They can improve only if they are playing. If Tito is not using them even in this stage then when will he use them.
I am sure Tito will loan out/sell almost all youngsters next season and buy new ones.He is not going to use or even try the young talents

I can't understand why you said xavi and iniesta should be played in the title won stage. Xavi is aging. So surely he can not play the same amount of time he played last season. Also confederation cup is coming.Surely xavi, iniesta, pique will be playing for spain. In short they wont get any rest.So they are forced to play continuously for 2 years.
Next year world cup is there. If this is the case none of the barca players are going to perform well in the world cup. Tito will play them in almost every match. So at the time of world cup there will be nothing left in them. Injury chances are also high
