Atleti sign Griezmann.
Wow.
http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/118152/atletico-madrid-agree-to-e30m-transfer-for-real-sociedads-antoine-griezmann
Damn talk about quality signing, massive move for Atletico. His such a talented young player who's only going to get better and better. He was easily by far one of the most exciting young talents in la liga last season and he brings an impressive goalscoring record with 46 la liga goals in 5 years that is very promising. Can't wait to see him play.

Although I'm quite surprised by Atl are making these nice moves, Atl are not backing out of the race despite losing big stars they really want to get back on top again.
+1
Aletico making some great signings
+1
Shocked myself so far.
They're usually inept and end up in desperate contracts and signings when under pressure.
Would love to see Santi Cazorla at Atletico
So is Atletico, Chelsea's bitch now?
Not at all. I think people knew Diego Costa was bound to leave Atl to Chelsea for sometime now it was only a matter of when it was going to happen. Filipe Luis was a standout LB for a long time now for Atletico and in the la liga and teams were bound to get interested but didn't see the move to Chelsea for Luis and Tiago Mendes coming at all. Not to mention Courtois heading back to Chelsea. That's 4 starting players from last season headed out but seems like Atletico are replacing them already.
+3
Miranda is also wanted by them...just sayin
Oh they can just f**k off, do they wanna buy the whole damn squad?
+2
well Mourinho just said that they won't be buying any more so 3 first team players is enough :D
I mentioned this on page 10 on these Atleti pages (@Spigy you commented on one of the threads there as well):

"The UEFA BS interference on Courtois' loan puts the ball in Chelsea's court: now Atleti are indebted to Chelsea and will want to "sweeten" any future deals as a "we owe you one". That might take the form of a Costa-for-Torres exchange, or something similar."

Blame UEFA for getting involved.
The financially mismanaged mattress makers are doing the honourable thing (yet somehow still idiotic) in order to compensate Chelsea's CL defeat.
Due to agents and 3rd parties being involved, everyone's been taking a piece of the pie.
Also, Atleti have yet to receive anything in return, but I believe the Blues will throw them some crumbs as we near the end of the transfer window.
Fernando Torres.
+1
Chelsea only got two of atleticos players...
@Rajmahal 3 of their BEST players:
Costa
Luis
Courtois (on loan, but more a Rojiblanco than a Blue...)
http://www.givemesport.com/486591-atletico-madrid-keen-on-signing-alessio-cerci

This move would be massive if it took place. I've been huge fan of Cerci for a long time and its about time he joined a power house team like Atletico who he would fit perfectly. His so exciting to watch and can play a lot like Robben. He can play as a second striker or a right winger and is extremely skilled with the ball which makes him fit right in the la liga. Him and Mandzukic up top looks pretty darn good.

Still hoping to see a replacement for the Tiago Mendes and its important Atletico sign an experience player for the position considering how important having Mendes was last season. I've heard nothing yet but hoping maybe to see Fernando Gago or someone of his level who is a natural DM.
Looks like a sound Italian striker, but I don't know much about him.
I'm generally wary of "Italians in La Liga" or "Spaniards in Serie A", but there are always a few exceptions.
His technically skilled with the ball and he along with Ciro Immobile were the reason why Torino finished 7th place last season and playing behind the striker he netted 13 goals and 11 assists. I feel like in this league Cerci's ability will explode considering as an attacker in the league you have to be skilled with the ball.
But the pace is faster, officials swallow their whistles, racism is a national pasttime, and he probably speaks no Spanish.
It's usually the things "off screen" that effects performances the most.
True but I mean its the risk you have to take to play for bigger and better teams. Mario Mandzukic doesn't know any Spainsh I bet and his happy to have moved to Atletico Madrid.
Oblak signing is pure brutal genius.
For the way Atleti are shaping up their squad, he's a much better choice.
Really is young Gk who out to prove himself. I was impressed with him at Benfica but didn't see this move coming at all, excellent move.
+1
No?
What about it didn't you expect?

In hindsight I figure the low-ball bid for Navas was an attempt at making a steal while they had Oblak all along.
Rumour has it Atleti are interested in Tello, which would be freaking amazing.
But looks like Porto will snatch him up.
Mandzukic is a great signing.
No way, is this actually true? Mandzukic?????
+1
yes! :)
+1
What a player, major signing, great target man to have on the pitch and is always at the right place at the right time. Atl. should make a move for a creative MF in the middle of the park and a DM replacement for Tiago Mendes like Fernando Gago.
+1
C'mon now. No low-ball bids for Navas.
Hypocrisy.
10mil euros is his buy-out clause. Atl can cough that up for sure, no reason not to spend 10mil on him in fact that could probably be the best 10mil they every spend. Keylor Navas is such a talent!

Also looking at the squad next season the CB is going to looking good. Atl need to keep both Miranda and Godin and with Alderwerild and Gimenez playing as backup/rotation the center halves options is looking good! Also I want Atle to sign Sosa on a permanent deal, its always good to have that kind of experience in the team. For the MF especially considering the loss of Tiago Mendes who was an important player. Saul can play as a DM/CM but I'm hoping his going to inherent Gabi's position as a CM because his just so good and I'd rather see a natural DM like Fernando Gago come to Atl just because I don't think Mario Suarez is good enough to take that role, maybe as a backup but nothing more, don't really know what the plan is at that postion. Looking at the forwards options Atl have some promising young talent Correa is the cream of the crop this kid is going to be the next Carlos Tevez imo, excited to see him play. Also hopefully Borja Gonazalez and Leo Baptistao get a shot as well and considering Adrian Lopez will be playing a lot more next season Alt should be alright unless Simone is going to the market and buys a big striker. With Costa gone I've been hearing part of the deal might have been to get Lukaku on loan but it seems like a bad idea. Although in set pieces his so dangerous his first touch is awful and his ball handling skills are literally nothing compared to past successful strikers like Falcao, Aguero, Costa, Forlan etc. He just wouldn't fit into a league where most strikers need to be technical.

I don't know how things are going to down but hopefully everything works out.
+1
And we sell him to Bayern instead:
http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/115949/bayern-munich-finalise-e10m-transfer-for-levantes-keylor-navas

No idea why Atleti didn't spring the extra quid.
La Liga is going to be tough for the 3rd and 4th spots.
Unreal.
@Moe66 Agree about Sosa.
Sosa is Allardyce style perfect specialist, which also fits with Simeone's philosophy. Best winter transfer in La Liga last year.

Baptistao is probably loaned out already.

Lukaku wants out of Chelsea permanently. Atleti can't afford him.

The Mandzukic signing saved everything.

Shaqiri next?
Hopefuckingfully!
Shalqiri would be a heaven like signing, that would just be great. It would show Atl ain't fooling around. Its time for Atl to get what they want! Shalqiri is just so technical with the ball and would fit La liga perfectly. Also hoping to see a DM replacement for Tiago Mendes.

I can't believe Atl lost on Navas, dafaq? Seriously????? Only 10mil and they couldn't afford that???? 10mil for Navas is such a steal, I just feel like Atl aren't going to find another starting Gk with the quality of Navas for 10 f*****g mil!!!!!! Sorry but I'm just ragging right now!
