Oh, and the Sunderland stripes worked. Unbelievable.

BORINI!!!
+1
Well, now that Neymar's out I don't think we have any chance at Camp Nou. They always become the Barcelona of old when he's out of the lineup.
Dammit! Why'd he have to break a heel and sprain his toenail!

Sevilla play Granada, but I can't see them losing at home. Luckily they'll be swinging handbags with Valenshita in the Europa League semis, so hopefully that takes away from their league form.
+1
We always have a chance :P I'd play a 4-4-2 diamond with Iturraspe at the bottom, Muniaín and Susaeta on the sides, Ander at the top of the diamond and GT2 & Aritz as strikers (need Toquero for the pressing, he was a beast at San Mames when we played them).
+1
In 2014 Aduriz has scored 13 goals in 17 games (+ he also has 6 assists during that period), now if we could get him to score like that throughout the entire season. I think he's the second best goalscorer in La Liga (after Messi) in 2014.
+1
Ya, I had expected him to continue his form from last year. And then I expected him to continue his low-key form in 2014!

As usual, WTF do I know.

Not sure what else we can do next year to try and challenge for the league. 3rd place is the best we can hope for next year from the looks of it.
+1
We only have 2 more losses than Barcelona, yet we're fookin' 16 points behind them!

FT: Athletic 3 Málaga 0

That 4th place trophy is ours damnit :) Barca next! I have a feeling it won't be this easy, but we've done it before and we can do it again.

Next match is.... oh, hello there!
+1
Monday night monsters at it again.
Starting to like these matches as long as the results keep in our favour.
Oh, and Aduriz again!

Thank f*ck for that, just a sprained ankle after the horror tackle by Casadesús. Hopefully Mikel will be back soon, he's been a beast for us this season. I'd play a midfield of Iturraspe-de Marcos-Ander Herrera while he's gone, maybe Benny in de Marcos' place if Valverde wants to play OdM at RB instead of Iraola.
+1
Gurpe, Laporte and Ekiza out for the Levante game, time for Xabi Etxeita to step up.
+1
Good luck at la antigua catedral!

Should be match of the weekend. You guys haven't won at our grounds since 2010, and yet everyone has already spotted you the 3 points.
Tsk tsk tsk... always a bad omen.
:)

Ibai is out, and Herrera is coming back tho he shouldn't exactly be rusty.
We're missing our captain/defender.

Oh, and what's Los Leones success against Caparrós?
+1
0-2 Athletic HT:

-positive attacking display by our guys, Muniain, Susaeta and Ander are bossing the game
-2 goals by Aritz, brilliant cross by Ander for the second goal, but Fellaini is better, right Moyes?:)
-missed penalty, why the f*ck did San José take it? Makes no sense.
-Mikel Rico injured after a horrortackle by Casadesús, surprised Valverde brought Erik Morán to replace him and not Beñat.
+1
FT: Levante 1 Athletic 2

Phew, tougher than I expected with San José scoring an OG and Navas making a few quality saves on Iker and Aritz.

Oh and we won 1 and drew 1 with Caparrós in charge of Mallorca (last season, can't remember the earlier results), won both against Levante this season.
+1
You killed us.

I knew missing Navarro would kill us. Nice tactics.
And you called it with Aritz putting everything on his back.
Repeat of the first match.

Plus I hate playing rough and dirty against you guys/ourselves: Casadesús butchers Rico's achilles, and Rico pats him on the head with a "it's ok, no hard feelings" expression as he walks off the pitch.
That killed all of our hope and chances. I think all of our supporters changed allegiance after that moment (I know I did).
:P
+1
Also, I haven't watched the 2nd half yet (turned it off after Rico went off followed by Aritz putting us up 2-0).

* yes, Ander (formerly on United's gaydar until they lucked out and found Fellaini available for only 30 million) definitely had a Fellainiesque match
* "missed penalty, why the f*ck did San José take it?"
Navas JUST was awarded La Liga Player of the Month for March
Also, Steven P. Gerard-enalty could not officially change his name to "Zteven Txerrard" in time for match kickoff.
* it's getting to the point where we can't question Valverde's decisions: they all work perfectly (seriously???? Toquero as a lone striker against Barcelona??????????.... ok I'll shut up now).
Though I have no idea what's going on with Beñat Aspas Etxebarria this year.
* oh, and C'MON YOU REDS!!!!
+1
Benny actually came on later (and so did GT2! and it was glorious) and did relatively well, maybe he'll get an extended run in the team now that Rico is out. Anywho, Iker should take the penos- he's done it before this season (vs Betis) or maybe Toquero could backheel them in.
+1
Ooh la la, Susaeta:
http://youtu.be/vnh1Pcosfn4
+2
They almost scored in the 87th minute. Fookin' close!

9 points ahead of Sociedad...
+2
Yeah closer than it should've been really, but without Aritz our finishing is a bit dodgy at times. Still a beautiful freekick by Susaeta and 3pts is all that counts:)
+1
Im so happy to see Athletic doing well! Champions league is on the cards. :)
