Really hard to say atm since everything is kept under wraps. Excited to see whether the new coach can bring a new dimension to our game.
today's thoughts, in the s.league, top goal scorers are foreigners. In MSL, Lions 12, khairul nizam doesnt score, injury prone, shahril ishak was a midfield converted to striker, shahfiq ghani is a rooneyish player, fazrul doesnt score like how he scores in the s.league.
issit worrying that singapore does not produce talented strikers anymore? a real natural striker who bang in the goals? the last was noh alam shah and indra shahdan.

Well Sharil Ishak has consistently come up with the important goals and is the fulcrum of the team(our play usually goes through him), and for me that's good enough. In this respect I think he is the best striker Singapore has to offer right now.
Agree with you on the fact that we are lacking in out-and-out strikers though. Those that play more like a targetman role banging in the goals rather than a playmaker-type of striker.

it might be because our formation is almost like arsenal and they are trying to emulate it in the lions 12 and NT side.
but the fact is this, they had been playing long balls for too long that technically, they cant really play arsenal type football. against lower teams yes, but top teams and same level teams, no. technically we are not there yet.
what brings me hope is the current crop of youngsters moving abroad getting knowledge of overseas training, and youth football playing current brand of football.

Have you guys watch Kallang Roar before? The training methods, the discipline and the professionalism. Thats what we need. Sg players now have all the talents but no real professionalism with all their partying..
Finally....
Someone on this page other than Fadinho and me :D
With regard to your point, I think the new-found discipline in the NT played a definite role in our AFF Cup win. There have been previous reports of players misbehaving during our acrimonious group-stage exit at the previous AFF Cup but I have to say the players' attitude have improved since then.
Passion-wise I doubt the current batch is on terms with the Golden Generation of the older days. Hopefully we can blood more hungry youngsters into the NT and lay the foundations for a new Golden Generation of local talents.

lol tecko, and he is an arsenal fan. it seems to me, in footytube, singapore fans are only arsenal fans. LOL.
every aspect. like playing style capabilities, FAS, s.league, players.
well for me, in my opinion, its not time yet for them to hire local coaches. their negative football disgust alot of sg fans, especially against a team that we can win. remember last season, lions 12 got boo-ed for playing negative football and attendance dwindle.
as of now, home utd is the only team playing short sweet passing. Lee im-saeng did wonders with them. with song-ui yong declaring interest to play for singapore. im sorry not only home utd, albirex niigata were the first team to implement the japanese short total football, and it was amazing to watch. and these two teams are being coached by foreign coaches. the only local coach that tried to do it was richard bok after winning 8 titles. and then after getting players and tried to do it with SAFFC the season after, they didnt manage to win the title.
what im trying to say is, total football needs to be train from young and the mentality to play good attractive football with total determination goes all the way from who trained you at youth levels.

Adam Swandi signs 2 year deal with FC Metz.
Hope it will be a stepping stone for local players to experience European football.
