We don't expect to qualify mate, what we do expect is to compete!

We have at least 5 or 6 players from the EPL, this is as good a squad as we have had in recent years!

I don't expect to beat Belgium, they have a great squad, but Serbia and Macedonia at Hampden were matches we could have won, and we have a squad that can match up to the Welsh no bother!

I expected to take at least 7 points from our first 4 games not 2, and why not?!

When Walter Smith and Alex McLeish were in charge we beat France home and away, ran the Italians very close, and we were not a kick in the ar*e of qualifying for 2 major tournaments!

We know we can compete with the bigger teams, we are always the underdogs but we usually rise to the occasion, whats wrong with having a bit of belief in our team, the 2 Fletchers, Naismith, Mackie, Caldwell, Hutton, Snodgrass, we have a decent core to the team we just don't seem to be clicking at the moment, and i can only put that down to man management, Levein doesn't seem to know how to gt the best out of these players!

One thing the Scot's have always had is pride in their National team, that will never change, all we ask for is the same from the management and the players, we knew we were in a hell of a tough group but their were winnable games in there!

Anyway this is all a mute point, it is damage limitation from here on in!

i suppose you cant blame it fully on the fletcher debacle, although it never helped the situation, i fear scotland should have done far better even without fletcher, no way are they a one man team.
so outside of fletcher, it must come down to managerial skills, which levein has been found wanting sadly to scotlands cost, and they DO have a decent team there.

They do Tony, they have a much better squad than in recent years and they just haven't stepped up when it matters, Serbia, Macedonia, Wales and Belgium, 2 of those matches at Hampden we should have been looking at, at least 7 points in my opinion!

2 points is just criminal, our qualifying campaign is over! :(

Bring in a new coach, now they are working under no pressure, the damage has already been done.

Was always gonna be a tough ask for the boys, good effort but glorious failure as usual, the team is performing better these days though and we can head into the world cup qualifiers confident of mounting a decent challenge!

Should have been 3-2 at least, oh well they were the better team in the end and there is no shame to lose against the european and world champions. Loved how the lads battled on in the second half.
Mackail-Smith looks a great player, should be playing in the premier league soon hopefully.

well scotland, wales and ourselves are tiny countries in comparison population wise, so i wouldnt be too downhearted, i mean we have one and a half million of a population in northern ireland, theres loads of cities with a bigger population than that.
we do ok for what we have, bad luck and a good effort.
that result in the cech rep did for scotland im afraid.

That penalty the Czechs got at hampden is what sent us packing, conned that stupid Dutch ref!

yeah, there were a few things that never went scotlands way, its funny that the british and irish teams seem to be the only ones to suffer injustities at international level
like estonia's winner against us.....the ref needs shooting
