I can't wait to see Rangers win their next Scottish Premier League, be it in 4 years, 40 years, It will be remarkable achievement, and well deserved payback to the green scum ;)
It will be oh so sweet when it happens mate.
We have until then to build a good team from the grass roots of Scottish football, this time do it properly and it will be amazing!
3 Years till we are back in the SPL! :)

For a moment I thought it's another liquidation saga for another Scottish club.
I have a good feeling that the Rangers will be promoted again next season. Ally McCoist and all those fans who showed up gave everyone a lesson for life:
Never give up even if it's your last drop of blood.
Then they should make a golden statue of Ally in front of the SPL office while he is showing them the finger.

Their punishment was technically worse than clubs like Juventus and Milan who collectively and intentionally cheated the actual game. Where is justice in this world ?
Sorry guys, I know this discussion is redundant for all the Rangers fans( and other fans). Unfortunately I'm a type of person who never moves on. lol

In the real world we got what we deserved though, as much as it pains me to say it's people like David Murray and Craig Whyte that destroyed the club.
Sure we are still going now run by a new company, but under the old company we were liquidated, so all these companies that we owed a fortune to got nothing from us.
Where's the justice in that for them?
In the end we won the big tax case, which is really what sent us under, we assumed we were gonna lose it, people were predicting a £90m bill for the whole case, couple with our debts which stood at around £30m and the debts that Craig Whyte had managed to run up, there's no way we would have ever been able to pay that back so the only other option was to liquidate.
The HMRC had already made it quite clear they weren't going to agree to us making any sort of deal with them.
So the company that ran Rangers got liquidated and that basically meant that the club had to start from scratch again.
Getting sent to the 3rd division wasn't a punishment, it was the rules, the club still remains RFC but the company that owned Rangers and had the license was gone so a new company had to take control and then re apply to the Scottish Leagues, by doing this we must be like any other club applying for a license and start at the bottom.
Same as having no European football for 3 years, not a punishment but it's the rules that any new company must have 3 years of accounts before they enter the European scene.
The major punishment for the club was actually getting liquidated.
Other than that we have came out of it pretty clean, we paid back our debts to the Scottish clubs that we owed money, we have no debt to speak of and we get to build again from the bottom, and when we win the 2nd and 1st divisions we will be come the only club in Scotland to win every single division that Scotland has to offer.

and "still" the world record holders for the number of domestic trophies won, even though its only the third division, its still a domestic trophy.
john has pretty well summed it all up mate, we got what was coming to us, and as ever no fault of the fantastic support, just these fly by night business men looking to make a quick buck.
i would rather have seen a supporters trust taking over the club, like portsmouth have done.
seems we can trust no one after whyte and green, murray and a host of others.

@greatscot If you started from scratch how come all those trophies and medals are in your resume? Something like everything West Germany had went to the unified Germany or the Soviet Union to Russia?
Let me explain.
The Company that owned Rangers were liquidated and they held the license the club needed to play in the Scottish Leagues.
Without a company to run the club we would not have been able to play in the leagues, a company is needed to finance the club to play football.
Without this company the club is useless.
A new company bought the club, stadium and players that decided to remain with the club(Rangers) but this company had to apply for a NEW license to play in Scottish football again.
A new license meant starting at the bottom as any other club seeking a license would have to do.
As we lost our license we also lost our place in Scottish footballs leagues, but we left a space open, we then had to re apply for this space, other clubs were also free to apply for the open space.
Rangers were granted a new license so the club could continue to play football again.
Therefore we could continue as the same club, employing the same players, playing at the same stadium in the same strip calling ourselves Glasgow Rangers.
Does that make sense and answer your question?

@GS Yes that was very clear. Thank you:)
When I watched the documentary on youtube a few days ago "The rising". It made me sad, but also at the same time I envied those fans staying in line for those 3rd division away games. Passion and loyalty at its best.
I feel better now, the rangers are coming back...

Did you hear about the leaked document that Green had supposedly written up?
In it he had plans to lure a top boss to Ibrox like one of the De Boers and also had a plan to overhaul the coaching team, he felt the current set up never going to take the team forward!

i watched it this arvo john on mutv, talk about rolling back the years, the only thing missing was gazza.
trademark thunderbolt from albertz, one from alex rae, and two from guess who, you couldn't make this stuff up...lol....coisty.
ronny johnson scored for united.
great game for the rangers foundation and unicef, and 26,000 turned out for the game, amazing when you think there was 56'000 in there only 3 days ago, what a support.
im sure there will be highlights somewhere john.

Nacho Novo would be welcome at Rangers, says Lee McCulloch
Rangers captain Lee McCulloch would love the chance to welcome striker Nacho Novo back to Ibrox this summer.

Wee Nacho is 34 now, sure he would probably still do a good job for us in Division 2, but he can't have long left in his legs, would be nice for the wee guy to see out his career at Rangers as long as his wages demands weren't too high.
nacho could still do a job, and why not, he would only be a stop gap until we hit division 1, and who knows he might even cut it there as well, taking us to the spl where we belong, but i doubt he would ever figure in the spl again, he'll be 36-37 by then.
its also a case of how much money he would be looking, and more importantly what the gers would be willing to pay for an ailing player of a certain age.

The energy he possesses would be just what we needed up front, what if we head Nacho or Kenny Miller running about in behind Kris Boyd, we surely would walk through the 2nd and 1st divisions.
Now i heard this the other day Tony, we can sign players on free transfers at the end of the summer transfer window, but they can't be registered or play until the Winter transfer window opens?!
Is that true, i haven't heard anything that backs that up but the thought of that had never crossed my mind for a moment!

i just heard on talksport mccoist is very interested in queen of the souths nicky clark who has scored over 40 goals this season, so with little already there i dont see a need or a role for kris boyd.

i was talking to my mate robert garrett snr today while he was cleaning my mums windows, and he was telling me about his son who plays for linfield going on loan to fc edmonton {in canada} who i think are 2nd division mls.
the rangers angle being his dad told me he was recommended to fc edmonton by none other than mccoist and durrant.
and hes on £3,000 a week, im sure it was no more than £300 at linfield per week, if that.
report below.

That's good news for the lad Tony, good to see his career taking him places too.
That's a big recommendation too, he must be delighted.
Why not bring the lad to Rangers for a season in Division 2?!

maybe thats whats in mccoists mind, who knows?.
hes seen robert first hand against rangers twice and knows his game, and he also knows davy jeffries is not using the lad right, or using him at all sometimes, so i reckon ally could be sniffing, who knows.
i dont think the 2nd division would be beyond him, and the gers fans would love him as he goes through brick walls for a small lightweight lad.

Midfielder Nicky Law has agreed a three-year contract with Rangers with effect from 1 September.
The Ibrox club are currently subject to an embargo on registering players that expires on 31 August.
The 25-year-old Englishman has spent the last two seasons with Motherwell, for whom he scored 13 times in 86 appearances and twice qualified for the Europa League qualifiers.
