"We're going down in a spiral to the ground" Tentative, from System of a Down.

I do love a good SOAD song, and this line actually makes sense to what is currently happening to us....Hope Vercauteren lifts us up, at least yesterday we didn't deserve to lose...
I just posted this on the Rangers site but it seems appropriate here as well.
"Just passed by to see how tricks are I think I'll duck and leave and come back on a sunny day ! I guess its a sing along with brian time !

Chin up lads !
Videoton? Really? Hungary? Really?
Worst start in the league of the 21st century...
Thursdays match looked like a nice confidence booster ! and a step forward into Europe !
There must be a good chance of going thru looking at the teams in the group!
Basel have lost half ther midfield , Genk should be manageble the only one ive no idea about is FK Fehavar.
Well it was a good peformance, but we have to worry about the league. We do have a game in hand, but it's against Marítimo...We really have to win, no matter what.

@Redsince63, the last team you pointed is Videoton, or is it also known as Fehavar? They have some players that played in Portugal (Caneira, Stopira), and Paulo Sousa is their manger. And that about sums it up lol!
We had a rough ride in Denmark...Our finishing has been really poor, it took us 21 shots to score one goal. It is not acceptable! And why are our players not striking long shots? The only players who seem to do it are Insua and Labyad...
I cant believe we lost against Rio Ave in our home ground. Thats inacceptable!!! what happened with van Wolfswinkel?? this must be his season to improve, I'm very worried with this season X_X
Part of the problem is a tactical one: we are playing with two defensive midfielders, Gelson and Elias. Although Elias isn't a defensive player, he has been playing alongside Gelson, and this is ok if you are facing a tough oposition, such as in the Europa League knockout stages, or when playing away from home against Benfica, Porto or Braga. Against a team that plays counter - attacking football like Rio Ave, it will never work, because we lack depth in our game and we haven't got anyone that speeds up and organizes the game when needed, a job that would be performed by Matías Fernandez who, as you know, is playing for Fiorentina... Labyad might be the man for the job, but he needs time to adapt he is only 19 for God's sake!
As for Ricky, he seems to have lost confidence in front of goal and I do feel that having a partner upfront might help him.
Another thing that bugs me is how Rojo and Boulahrouz are constantly left alone to defend....How is this possible?!?
Finally, our team is very inexperienced, look at the number of players bellow the age of 25. I know Dortmund has a young squad as well, but it seems more balanced then ours in terms of experience...
Izmailov, Onyewu and Jeffren...There is a chance that all three of them might leave...
ya I know and how sad;( Wish they could stay because they are the best players at Sporting Lisbon. Its a real shame to lose some quality players

Onyewu is a CB that gives us chances to score in set pieces, Izmailov is such a hard worker, a true team player, and Jeffren, still hasn't showed us what he's capable of, but if he stays free of injuries he is a major asset to the squad.
So, a new season has started, we play tomorrow, but I'm not feeling very confident...I just hope I'm wrong. SPORTING!!!

Ah come on new season new chances start with a bang !!
I see youve managed to keep the team together( who scored .com) or not ?
Raynor, i couldn't see the match against Guimaraes. How the team did, and how played Marcos Rojo and Gelson Fernandes????
Decent away point !
In the first half wasn't very good, we were playing really slowly. But in the second half it was so much better, we just couldn't score. Taking into consideration that Porto, Benfica and Braga all lost points, it is a decent start as you said @Redsince63.

@Obskurum, they played well, and Gelson is actually surprising me with his tactical awareness and fighting spirit!
