bad news for glentoran with manager alan mcdonald leaving the club on sunday night, after glentorans 2-0 defeat to lowly dungannon swifts.
it was the final straw for mcdonald after a series of bad results in recent weeks, he actually considered resigning a few weeks ago after a thumping 6-0 defeat at home to coleraine,
he said he spoke with the players and they promised to up their game, but it never materialised, and he was left with no option but to leave his managerial post at the glens.
he seemed to put all the blame on the players, as he said he had done all he could, and they didnt respond.
sad really, i liked big alan, but its gonna be hard for the glens to overtake cliftonville, never mind linfield, who have two games in hand.
