a break down of the new tv deal. We lose some money, but I'm all in if it helps the league to be honest.

The state of Italian football is embarrassing.
+1
About time.

It's been getting real bad in the last two years, with teams like Watford and West Ham buying first team players from top Italian sides, and outspending teams like Lazio and Roma.
+1
come to think about it...losing some revenue didn't really hurt big club as Juve that much, as long as its for the greater good of the lega calcio

and the irony thing about it, the more FIGC & most of Italia trying to screw Juve up, the more Juve gave to the league overall (that 4th UCL spot for example, who do u think the biggest contributor for Italy while overtaking Germany & drew distance from France since 2012?)
Yeah good for the league.

I'm very worried for us though. As I have mentioned multiple times before, the club have not been able to sign big sponsor ships for us even after all the titles and CL runs.

An example. We make around 23-25 mil a year from Jeep which is owned by Exor BTW. Do you know how much Arsenal is gonna make with their new deal? 50 a year.
It's Arsenal FFS...

Maybe our brand of football is not exciting enough and of course we don't sign any top players(Super stars) but things are only getting worse with the transfer costs and English money and all that.
Just enjoying watching Douglas Costa run. And Sandro score.

Our Juve Netflix series is out!

Just watched the first episode, quite underwhelming honestly. Not as personal as I would've liked. Just a lot of interviews with players saying cliche things that they'd say at a press conference.

Loved the part where we see Pjanic spending time with his son, who's adorable.

Would really like to see more of the players, rather than generic narration.

Juve Netflix series? Must watch tonight!

Atalanta showing some fight in Dortmund

Milan breezed past Ludogorets

Lazio as usual choking in the crucial stage after doing so great in the group stage

Napoli, well, what can i say, typical Napoli. They would focus on Serie A as usual

Damn, I was critical of our home performance against Spurs, but Porto was just destroyed by Pool 5-0 at home.

Remember when we struggled against Porto last season?
+2
Exactly. Everyone is so critical but failing to realize how much the English sides have improved in their own gameplay.
+1
Idk about u guys, but i refused to throw the towel and waving the whitw flag, yet

Sure, a minimal scoreline Juve gonna have to get in London to go through is by winning 1-0 or drawing by over 3-3 scoreline

This match kinda remind me of the one vs Shakhtar(1-1) & Bayern(2-2), both in Turin. Juve got mostly dominated in both matches, but in the return fixture, they beat Shaktar 1-0 in Ukraine and probably a minute away from eliminating Bayern in Germany b4 Lewandowski equalize

And what i'd often noticed from all these years being a Juventino, Juve works best when the odds is not on their favor. Right now, Spurs are favorite to go through, with 2 away goals in their belt. But i have some of confident we can actually get a shocking result in England

..only one way to find out though

It's going to be tough, especially since Tottenham now want to prove that they belong at this stage. We have been in a similar position before and could have done it at Bayern if not for a stupid Evra, and our loanee coming back to bite us.

Mentality will be everything. I hope that Gigi can help inspire this team, especially if this is truly his last time around.
+2
Much will depend on the injured coming back. Since we won't have Matuidi around we'll most likely see the same pairing in CM. Maybe Bentancur can get integrated till then.
Don't forget Lazio away is right before. Make or break week.

I wonder if Dybala would do well as a false 9 in place of Higuain? Higuain is already kinda having that role now, as he has to drop very deep to get the ball thanks to our defensive line.

Dybala has always done better in the middle rather than on the right, and with him flanked by Costa and Cuadrado, we would have a very fast counter.

But for that, Mandzukic and Higuain would have to be sacrificed, which Allegri wouldn't do.
+2
Cuadrado is also out till then. I wouldn't sacrifice Higuain. Costa Higuain Dybala
3 CMs

I am not as great at tactical analysis as some on here are, and I understand how upset we are right now, but I am going to throw some things out there:

- If Higuain scores on the fast break to go up 3-0, Spurs get demoralized and the game is over

- If Higuain scores the penalty (which Pjanic should always have taken), we gp up 3-1 and game is essentially over.

- I worship the man, but Gigi's reflexes and decision-making are not what they used to be; on that first goal, he doesn't have the speed to get to it anymore and once he committed to come out, there was no recovery. We gave away a stupid foul for the freekick, but Gigi in years past would have always had that covered. I'm not saying he is finished- he just had a subpar game per his standards.

-We have the habit of taking our foot off an opponent's neck when we have them reeling and inviting pressure because our defense can soak it up- it was the wrong mentality to have and we should have gone into that half up at least 4-0. I don't know if it is Allegri or the players trying to conserve energy, but we can't keep doing it.

All I'm saying is that, in spite of all the criticism I'm reading, we had our chances and should have put the game away- I think our finishing and poor defensive mentality cost us more than the age of the players. I can't speak to formations as much, but even with a different formation, if we had created 10 more chances and don't finish them off, then we are in the exact same spot.

We need to get Dybala back and finish teams off proper.

In an interview with Danish TV Eriksen said he had planned to put the free kick high over the wall. At the last second, he realised that Buffon had read him and changed his mind to put it bottom left.

The team is old. The football is old. The manager is getting old. Time for some fresh blood.

6 titles in a row and we are still loaning and poaching rejects, subs and old people. Well this is as far it gets you. Headless chickens on the pitch. The rest, Legless chickens, injured at home.

Spurs should go through. It's better for football.

Anyone notice the stark difference between our left and right wing? Our Brazilian duo on the left were the bright spots of the game, providing us with our better moments.

The Italian pair of MDS and Berna on the right though... Pretty bad. It's also increasingly clear the MDS doesn't offer much apart from decent defending. He can't dribble or get into good attacking positions.

Also, is anyone else tired of seeing Mandzukic play as the unorthodox left wing "target man". It makes our play so one-dimensional. Notice most of Gigi's long kicks go to the left. Predictable and easily defended,

On top of that, playing a left target man just leaves one option going forward, which is to pass to the centre. Most times it goes back, which is us beating ourselves with our own tactics. My opinion is that play him centre or not at all. As a CF, at least he has more options left and right.
+1
He defended pretty damn well tonight and that's his main job. In a list of underperforming players you go pick the one who put a solid display!?
Costa gave the ball away so many freakin times, one of them was almost a goal.
Sandro was solid all game. Sell him for 50 mil next summer.

Our defence did a good job considering the midfield mess.

I have been tired of seeing Mandzukic there all year but what can you do. They buy him 2 wingers in the summer. 7 months on he is still there.
Hmm I think my criticism of MDS is fair. There’s a reason why clubs are clamoring for players like Alex Sandro and not MDS. Football has evolved and is punishing clubs like us who stick to tradition. To say his “main job” is defending is part of the problem. Fullbacks like him are required by modern standards to have a complete, 360 game. Sure, good full backs can lack in one or two departments, but to name a solid display based on standard defending is quite worrisome. Furthermore, players like MDS who lack certain skills like dribbling create defensive problems such as putting the rest of the defense under undue pressure. So by defending well by creating chances for yourself to defend isn’t ideal in my opinion. And if he doesn’t do more than just defending, Berna will get no support at all, which was what happened today. But then again, there are zero good Italian fullbacks.

And yes, I know the midfield was the main problem, but most of that has already been talked about.

Also, at least Costa lost the ball because he’s one of the few who attempt dribbles. Dybala loses the ball a lot too but that’s the nature of it. Either who you get past your man or you don’t. And against good teams like spurs it’s more likely you don’t.
You should also remember that this is probably their second time playing together and given that he came back from injury a couple of weeks ago I think he did pretty well considering. You're right, I don't remember him putting a decent cross in but neither did the winger but don't forget that Ali would have scored in the first half if not for him and he was solid for most of the game. At least no one got past him.

My point regarding Douglas Costa who is amazing going forward was not his turnovers but 2 or 3 passes that he gave away to Spurs near our goal. One was to Sandro at the end and one was before that, if not for a last man clearance would have been a goal.

I guess I see some potential in De Sciglio that if he can keep fit he will be a solid full back for us. You know Aurier was one RB that we were looking at. How was he tonight? Gave away s penalty. Was out of position and not good in the air. I prefer MDS. In time he can be a solid modern full back. If not well, good luck finding one.
N.B.

We can't score from open play.
