Wow what a week for Seria A all 5 teams made it to the last 16 , even Torino who looked unlikely after the 2-2 draw in turin. Six wins out of six games, also first time that a nation has 5 teams in the last 16 of the euopa league since germany in the 1979-1980 season

Woohoo!
If only they put CL qualification as a prize sooner!
clean sweep by the Italian contingent

hopefully Juve will follow suit in 3 weeks time

now hopefully in Europa last 16 they wouldn't draw all Italian teams against each other, like Juve vs Fiorentina last season
bring back some pride for Italian football....FORZA ITALIA!!
Viola through with a convincing score.
Inter barely making it vs 10 men Celtic...

that's why i'd always wanted for us to draw a team that looks "stronger" than us on paper etc

The last thing u want to be happening to ur team is complacency and underestimating ur opponent

I couldn't help it but feeling dat Arsenal players and Wenger in particular did underestimate Monaco last night..and Atletico too, by looking at Bayer past record in round of 16 they probably think its gonna be a walk in the park for em
BVB are not stronger than us though and we are not through yet, I don't think it's complacency, it's rather that fear of conceding, I feel as though most our european games immediately after we score we seem to concede, if they can come to terms that they can't just expect the same level of response from UCL teams as they do from the top Serie A teams, they can handle them better.

You are right about Atletico though, they totally underestimated BL. Arsenal, well....
BVB could be on equal term with Juve

but lets say what if we drew the likes of Basel,Porto,Leverkusen or Monaco..take me as example, as i would feel anyone of em is not as dangerous as Dortmund, and that when the complacency would became a pain in the ass for our team

like Benfica last season. Conte certainly underestimated them eventhough its not so obvious by playing the same tiring squad against em after they've already wrapped up the scudetto
The problem is all mental. The guys can't seem to shake the nerves. We played badly, a lot of missed passes and some even started bickering.

All this pressure is also new compared to Serie A.
OMG at Arsnal's defense! for those two counter attacks they conceded from, I've never seen a defense so open and such a highline with Mertesacker guarding the open 50 metres! Amateur stuff.
They still have a chance though albeit a slim one.
Well, Carrasco in Portuguese means executioner, so if he wants to live up to his name in Portuguese, Arsenal's chance should be less than slim.

I feel for this guy ( from Arsenal forum):
"All I've never known about football is arsenal, my older brother brainwashed me. I can't remember the invincible season clearly, I'very been disappointed for most of my life as a fan and they continue you to do so."
i could relate to that, in the overall picture, its frustrating to be an arsenal fan for the past decade. a decade of failures (despite the FA Cup win)
one thing for certain is that u can never count Arsenal out

Milan trash em 4-0 at San Siro and its only Van Persie extraordinary miss at home dat kept em out from taking the tie to extra time and probably advancing

Monaco defense is strong..but it only take one meltdown to change the entire game.

0-3 or 1-3(extra time) at Stade Louis..its tough..but its not impossible
Another one from Man United, Andreas Pereira.

Allegri said that the plan was to let them have the ball so they can't counter which is nice, but I think it's clear that this approach messed with us as well. Or maybe it's same CL jitters who knows. It just seemed like the team wasn't really comfortable with a lot of banter going on.

It is REALLY unfortunate that Chiello slipped as a 2-0 would have been a good result, but if we manage to reproduce this defensive game in Dortmund than I don't see us losing.

I'm really impressed how on the second half we were able to better manage BVB's pressuring our transition passes. First half, despite finishing ahead in the scoreboard, we saw frustration and a very hard time making the first couple of passes once we had the ball. We still defended more than I'd hope in the second, however, we didn't seem as frustrated or unable to get out of our own zone. It seemed that BVB, despite not being particularly dirty, played a style that was harder than what we where used to. They are a great team, which makes our victory all the more meaningful.

Good game guys, quite a few chances for both teams but you looked more dangerous in the second half, so I'm content with a 2-1 loss.

Good luck against Roma next! A big couple of fixtures coming up for you apparently.

*win , Barca was devastating at City should have been at least 4-1
Yeah, it's a win for you guys, but a loss for me as a Dortmund fan :) I'm one of those people who live in a small country and I don't just support one team, but three: Club Brugge, Barça and Dortmund. Cant get enough of football, especially if it's played right and fair!

Jeroen could you call Leo and tell him not to miss his penalties next time!
Some of us are depending on him you know :)
And I really enjoyed the game tonight. BVB are a great team, makes you wonder though, how the HELL are they where they are in BL!

Not bad but i that that gift from Chiellini will haunt us but lets hope for the best forza Juve!!
