After more than one and half season I can confidently say, Spalletti's doesn't know how to prepare team to attack. His teams are defensively Okay, but when it comes to attacking he is completely relying on wingers' creativity. He has absolutely no plans, nothing to score goals. Whatever happens, always comes from wingers and CF's goal scoring skills.
Icardi has been carrying this team on his shoulders for the past 2-3 years, however, they never reached CL untill the last game of last season and they bought Poli, Keita, Lauto and Nain to lift the burden of scoring goals from the shoulders of Icardi but none of them have made a meaningful impact as hoped before the season started and to make things worse, Peri has also seen his form dip considerably, so it isn't a question about what works or doesn't work but what isn't working at this moment... luckly they've been fortunate with Skriniar signing and a steal in the form of De Vrij not to mention Asamoah alongside Handa... again lacking in the RB but they can always build on their defence... I've been reading Aurier of Spurs have fallen down the pecking order, could be a valid target for RB...
Well, that was a twist! Eitherway, Handa as a club captain makes most sense, he has been at the club the longest I think and has always been examplary when on the field with his performance... off the field and in the dressing room, only the managers of the club could know... things will surely be shaken up now, how it'll go will be interesting to watch and if Icardi will stick around after being stripped off the captaincy... I'm guessing it has to do with him and Peri, somehow related to why Peri wanted to leave the club in the first place...
Congrats to Handa. The most consistent preformer who could have left Inter for a better club. The amount of times his saved Inter butts during games, one too many.

As for Icardi, I would be surprised if he stayed. His poor form + losing the armband and knowing that most top clubs want him. You really think he would stay? I don't see it.

I say sell Perisic 30-35mil and Icardi for 150mil.
Glad to see the team finally grab a win. Thank god for L. Martinez but overall, it was a game of some good and some bad. The defense played well, Gervinho's speed gave the team some trouble, Vecino had a better game tonight, his performances have been out and cold. J. Mario did win the ball back that lead to the goal but his game was 50/50. Nain got the assist, he put in a shift but I don't want to see him in n10 anymore. If where going to play a 4-2-3-1, this team badly needs a n10 that can deliver that final pass to Icardi. His so starved out of service, despite how much possession this team has. Going to be a tough couple of games for Inter to grind out.
I'll give Spa untill the Viola the game, it almost looks certain inter will exit EL early and than two tough games against Sampdoria and Viola before the derby along with coming up against the Napoli, Juve... Inter are not only in balance but risk failing to qualify for CL... it'll be a huge step backwards and Spa almost looks resigned to losing his position, on the other hand Nain did put in a good shift but if it were up to me I'd sell Peri, Brozo, Vecino, Mario, Borja the whole midfield of Inter and just keep Gagli, also add Icardi to that mix, I don't understand why Spa haven't benched him... J. Rodriguez would be the most ideal nr10, also Neves of Wolves alongside Rafinha would be welcome, I don't undertand why Inter are being linked with Modric and Rakitic, both players above 30 and not what Inter need at this moment...
I'm just going to hope Inter find some spark. It ain't over just yet but for the summer window, toss out almost all the MFs expect Brzo and Gagli. Brozo has proved himself and has been the most consistent performer. Neves is waayy to expensive for Inter and even with UCL, James might just join Juve instead of Inter. Inter need to target young players in MF, like Luis Alberto from Lazio, Nicolo Barella, Rafinha etc that are long term for the club not break the wages to sign 30+ like Ozil, Raka and Modric.
If we're breaking the bank than Savic of Lazio is a must, by far one of my favorite midfield players in Serie A, epic Brozo is fun to watch but he rarely hits those hights, nevertheless he is a mainstay at Inters midfield and a regular for his country but if a big offer came in for him, I wouldn't mind swapping him for another all-rounded midfield player, don't know about Barella but I've fallen in love with Veratti after he went straight from Serie B to PSG so perhaps the hype around him might just prove to be right...
I know Marotta said Inter might break the bank but I don't know if that will be all together true.
Mourinho is coming and I don't like it. I prefer Conte over him.
Why? Don't get wrong Mourinho has won so much but at least give Spa another season. Bring in a n10, sign another striker and maybe top quality CM. If he finishes top 4, not sure why Inter would sack him.
Considering Inters form and their fixture against stronger opponents than they've come up against, I doubt Inter will finish in top 4, as for Mou vs Conte? I'd say Conte, just because of the rapport he has with Moratta and Mou will go beserk if he doesn't get the players he wants, it'll be too much of circus considering how Inter are in a slump themselves whilst Mou always has a sluggerfest with the media, it'll be a total disaster...
Are the players in a different set of mind or is it that their bodies can't keep up with them? They try to execute their gameplan but their body language is always a step behind, as in they expect things to go their way but end up being dragged into a needless struggle for the ball, really sloppy play... if Milan do win tonight and Roma somehow bounce back, Inter will be in a lot of trouble trying to recapture 3rd place as by than it'll be long gone and they'll have to play catch up which I doubt they'll be able to...
Milan capturing Piatek is scary, the kid could fire them higher up the table and Roma have been hot and cold but all they need is to find some consistency. Inter are in deep sh*t atm.

I know getting players in January is hard but Inter could use someone in attack at least two new players, heck even on loan deal. We were lucky we landed Rafinha last season, Inter really should have paid the money for him.
L
Inter became, Brozovic, Icardi and bunch of headless chickens.

There is no passion, no energy, no accuracy, no creativity, NOTHING!!!
It's become a common theme, every year around this time, the team falls apart and goes on a spiral thumbl... after their heroics against Lazio on the last day in last season, you'd hope to see some changes but atleast they're still within the CL places and are doing much better than they ever did in the last six years, albeit Roma are in much worse state and Inter has always been pazza Inter...
One of the main reasons that we suffer at the same time every year is lack of depth in our squad. We don't have good back up for our line-up players. It always bite us in the butt and we don't learn from it.
Just hoping the Inter players find some sort of spark and win against Lazio. So many players under preforming, with only a RB in Cedric Soares coming on loan, the players need to get their sh*t together.

If Inter do manage to finish in the top 4 by the end of the season. I can see Spa breaking this squad up and selling off to build a new team as Marotta did hint that June will be a very busy summer for Inter and the club will look at expensive signings. Won't be surprised if Icardi is gone this summer.
I don't know about expensive signings as Sabatini was made some promises and he ended resigning, now I'm sure Moratta will be all too wise about Inters past history but it'll be a delicate summer for Inter as it can make or break them, as has happened with Milan after their huge investments with Fassone and Mira...

as for Icardi, if a good offer does come in, it's time for him to move on, Inter can't afford to renegotiate his contract every year and have that upset the balance in the dressing room for no apparent good reason... Icardi has outgrown Inter and it's only right for him to seek lucrative contracts abroad as most players of his caliber do command a huge sum of salary in other countries or even at Juve...
With Roma, Napoli and Milan drawing their games, you'd hope Inter would pull away but Spa will have his work cut out for him, as the axe will be looming over him now soon if Inter drop out of CL spots, the team looks out of ideas and are running on empty fumes, again, a really plucky performance...
I saw this coming and warned you guys. Oh well...
All that possession in the game and nothing to show for it. Spa was desperate for us to score goals, he started Icardi and Lautaro together. Its time like these you wish the team kept players like Rafinha and signed another quality striker to alternate with Icardi.
Watching guys like Alfred Duncan and Zaniolo play for their clubs makes me a bit sad, considering they where academy players. Inter really should promote more young players.
Inter is famous for raising players and selling young stars to rivals, so there is no surprise here.
I'm surprised by Zaniolo, a bit disappointed about Gagli as I had high hopes for him and enjoyed his outings for Atalanta and even his performance for Italy U21... but the same could be said about Locatelli as I also liked him while he was at Milan, sometimes it's better for players to gain experience and confidence before stepping up to the big stage and taking on the responsibility of wearing a starting shirt for a big team...
^The same player will shine in Milan and Juve because they will be played next to world class midfielders and defenders, while they have to cover for lousy defenders here.
Honestly, Gagli hasn't gotten much since the arrival of Vecino. A player who's still young needs more and more games to gain experience.
