after that 7-0 thumping it was normal that the players would feel fatigue but Torino really raised the heat on Inter, surprised that inter couldnt handle it, they had the same problem against Napoli, if teams attack Inter and rush them, they lose all sense of direction and control of the game, you'd almost wonder where their head is at and i mean collectively and they stop playing and revert back to their old habits, kinda figured the game was lost when Mira was stumbling with clearances, Kondo was back passing and D'Ambro with Canda totally taken out of the game...
Very disappointed. Lack of urgency and unity when it comes to sides that can bring the game to us. Torino despite falling off the pace after a good start to the season are still a really good side and they showed it today.

No surprise to why the board has been going targeting big players this summer. Inter lacks some leaders that can get the team back into the game. This Inter side can look good one day and really lost the next. Pioli can only do some much managing.
it won't help that their next opponent is Sampdoria that knows Inter well and just lost against Juve, they'll look to make things difficult for Inter and will definitely be on the attack as to make up for the loss and at this point of the season, Samp don't have much to lose or play for... I think Icardi can get through to the Argentines, Candreva would perhaps like to take up some space but could do with D'Ambro and Gagli backing him up then it's all about Brozo and Kondo that feel out of place, too bad Pioli didn't have a pre-season to work with these lads but they at least helped him with trimming the squad...
what an amazing cl wks it has been, loads of goals and some really thrilling games, kinda makes you miss that cup, Juve have an amazing chance to get it this year but so does Atletico, Simeo has done extraordinary well to get his team to performe so well consistenly, still manages to get so much out of them and replaced those that have left with adequate players, which in of itself is no mean feature... also with talks about Veratti being to expensive i'm glad Ausi is looking at Krych as he reminds me of Medel, a hard working, no fuss DM who is good with the ball at his feet, could do well in a midfield with Gagli to shore up that backline even further...
With City bottling it against Monaco, I want to see Atleti take the cup. 2 finals in the last 3/4 years, would be nice to see them finally win it.

Krych is a beast. Remember him during his Sevilla days, strong players that does his job really well. Him along and Gagli would really do the job in MF and would give the MF the license to move up the field and if Medel keeps playing at the back, why not have another DM that can do the job in MF.

With Brozo and Canderva and even Perisic likely gone this summer. We could coupe some nice cash for them to get the likes of Krych, Bernad and others.
what a game
+1
Atalanta are no pushovers but today, Icardi and Banega tore up that team. Credit to Kondo, his getting better and better.
when everyone in the team is on song, it makes things look easy but everyone did their job, the praise for Kondo is well deserved but Gagli was an engine in there too, honestly Atalanta underestimated Inter and never really got back into the game, Atalanta started well in the beginning and had they scored before Inter, it would've looked like a completely different game but Ata faded as the scoreline got bigger... they still have got a long way before having that 'big' team mentality but itll give those youngsters a good lesson for the future... not to mention Icardi, I'd be surprised if no big team came in for him in the summer with a big money offer, Inter better start looking for an alternative to him already by now...
Rumors of Inter holding talks for a 35mil for Berardi. Would be an awesome player to sign!
yeah read also something about Bernad, it is worrying Berardi hasn't hit form after his injury, hope they that into consideration before signing him for a large sum and Bernad doesn't slip away from them as happened with Bonucci and Ranoch arriving after his injury... with Candreva linked with Chelsea and Peri not short on suitors, they could easily make up the cash for their transfers, throw in Brozo and they should have more than enough of sum... still don't understand why they would splash so much money on a defender when they could get Samir from Udi, he'd fit in well alongside Medel and Muri...
And this is why Ever Banega should be in the XI in every single game.
Banega is perplexin, its understandable why those that know him say you can get the most out of him when he is in the upper half of the midfield but at the same time, he is build as Gattuso yet weak in challenges, can easily be taken out of games in Serie A, his play reminds me of Pirlo yet Pirlo was good at using his body, his best attribute being the way he sheilds the ball and gets up close to opponents whilst defending, Pirlo makes it look effortless, hence why so many plp admire him but Banega really struggles in close encounters... also Gagli, a very impressive performance from him, nice for him that he could cap it off with a goal, a sturdy and disciplined play from Medel, alert throughout the game and Icardi's self sacrifice payed off with two goals from Peri... it's always nice with a win and it can mask the deficiency of the team but those two losses to Roma and Juve, cost them joint third place at this moment... also a shout out to D'Ambro, if he keeps up this level of performance, he should be easily Inters player of the season... also Ansaldi still lacking but working hard, could tell by how he got cramps towards the end...

with the a game against Atalanta coming up, ill be interested in looking at Conti and Spinazzola, have looked impressive in some of the highlights of Atalanta that ive seen but looking forward to seeing them play full 90 mins... also im sure Atalanta will look forward to playing against Inter, they've already troubled some of the top teams and seem to be enjoying their football so it should be a good game...
I do see your point, I think Banega shines when he has space to work with, in close situations he struggles but at the same time, he makes a difference. Pioli has to find a way to get him into the games because he adds that spark that Broz-Kondo still don't have.

I'm really happy with D'Ambro. Was thought of a squad player before but has been phenomenal at the back for Inter. Should get a call up to Italy, his earned it. Another top performance from Icardi, his been playing like a captain all season. Works his tail off for the team, Inter is really that he seems committed to this football club.

As for Atlanta, I really like Conti. A great defensive player with an eye for goal, his got 4 goals and 4 assists. Would love to see him at Inter next season.
6 points to Napoli will be though ask specially after this game and with Napoli likely to be knocked out of CL, that'll be it for the third spot as it's out of Inters hand right now, you lose as a team and win as a team but Gagli's inexperience showed yet again tonight, he looked out of place in the Juve game but it's expected of a young player in his first serie A campaign and i'm sure being ruthless isn't part of his game bu he needs to quickly learn to at least not give advantage to other players if he isn't type of player that gets the player if not the ball... that game was lost in midfield and Kondo and Brozo were outplayed with a simple one touch between Nain, Stroot and De Rossi... Joao was no show, as was Eder only saving grace was the defence untill Medel pulled out that rushed tackle in the end...
What a horror week for Inter. Lazio, Atalanta and Milan grab wins. Roma get an all important win and Napoli aren't slowing down with an exit in UCl very likely, 3rd spot is theirs to lose.

Don't see Inter getting a top 3 after today's performance. The quality is simply not there top match Roma or Napoli, maybe they slow down at some point but I just don't see it. A top 4-6 finish is the best option. That just means Inter still need to recruit but EL for next season must be taken more seriously.

As for the performance, for the price we paid for Joao, I expected more from him. Inter paid 45mil for him but his not impressed me at all.
I thought Joao did better when pushed back into midfield, allowing Peri to run off on him, the only game I was impressed with that tactic was against Lazio with Banega playing as AM, perhaps pushing Medel back into midfield and fielding Joa-Medel-Gagli and having Banega or Brozo play as AM could be the trick until the end of the season... a formation of 3-1-2-3-1 or a 4-2-3-1 depending how you look at it with

Icardi

Peri - Banega - Can

Joao - Medel - Gagli

Ansaldi/D'Ambro - Muri/Mira - Muri/D'Ambro
Thought id see how Roma were doing but it looked like they had the inter game in mind as they rotated players, didn't look sharp but enough to seal a win and the viola game looked like a lot of fun to watch with Borussia coming back from two goals down and winning with 4 goals! Bernad just looks like gold, i really hope Inter manage to land him and he doesn't opt for an outside Italy experience just like what happened to Cuad... I can't recall any italy stars that are doing well in other league except for Veratti and he looks like a distance dream, specially with how PSG are playing now in the CL... might change his mind if they get knocked out by Barca and he doesn't click well with their new coach or PSG decide to start over new with a new project...
Nah, Veratti is out of the question at this point. His performance will be long remembered. Now its either Barca or he stays at PSG. Not even Juve can land him at this point.

As for the Roma game, both Roma and Inter know how important it is. The teams below aren't slowing down and a win at San Siro will help Inter close the game on second place. This is win we so badly need.
After reading some of the pre-match interviews, had to recall that Pioli used to be a Lazio coach, why was he sacked again? didn't he lead Lazio to the preliminary rounds of the Champions league? eitherway, with derby being massive in Roma, he should know that team in and out and with his time at Inter, just hope he knows how to get the best out of his players and some of them respond well to it...
He had a string of bad performances and they sacked him. Napoli just lost, we must beat Roma, no choice.
Finally! GO on Barbosa! GO ON!
Too bad Roma and Napoli are in high spirit, specially Napoli that looked like a completely different team in Serie A, you'd wonder if this tempo will burn them out or if they'll continue on this form until they knocked out from europe and concentrate on finishing in top 3, besides kudos to Atalanta and Lazio have changed tune since they last won against Inter in the coppa... even Milan are slowly bouncing back but its harder to tell with them... that loss against Juve really shows on the table, which makes the Roma game that more important but with Icardi back in the team and dare i say it, even Kondo... then perhaps it'll be an interesting test of which team has the 'big team' mentality...
Kondo has looking better in recent times, still looks clumsy but the effort and tenacity is there. I gotta love that about him.

As for the rest of the league, were really in tight situation. The teams below us aren't slowing down and the teams above aren't giving up. This could draw out until the end of the season. All Inter can do now is not lose anymore games.
6 points to third spot is doable, specially considering the though fixture Roma and Napoli will have in Serie A, Coppa and CL with EL... I'd give it 8 games before throwing in the towel, if Inter can stack up the points until the Derby against Milan, with the Roma game being a chance to reedem themselves after the Juve game, it can be nail biting end to the season or it can fizzle out before we reach round 32...
Man Suso is doing really well at Milan. Always knew he was going to spark eventually, his crossing is top notch and grabs loads of assists for himself.
a complete turn around for him, wouldn't say he is yet a complete player, not on your superstar Figo level but he reminds me of Papu Gomez of Atalanta, if he specialises in free kicks and whips those crosses in with accuracy, I'm sure BPL teams will look at him again, also not to forget Bona who has been a solid utility player for Milan, hugely underrated and keeps that Milan forward and midfield ticking... Montella is building a solid, technically gifted, young team at Milan, would be a huge dissapointment if they sack him come summer, if that big money sale comes through... with a few adjustment and purchase of quality defensive players, Milan can play some pretty neat football...

Also Shick of Samp, looks like a rough diamond, his finishing reminds me of when Icardi used to play for Samp... than again, Belfodil looked equally promising...
Suso lacks the strength that's his issue. He would need to bulk up a bit to go back and play at a top level in the PL. Although technical ability, the kid is really good.
with his height and him depending on his agility, it would be a no go for him to bulk up, just look at Augo, he has bulked up so much but taken so much damage that he isn't the same anymore, almost like he is playing at max 80 %, he still has that touch for goal but you see him rarely fully fit... than again not everyone can be a Messi, i still get amazed at how he easily steps past huge defenders with his physique... i think if he works on his finishing and gets a couple of more goals, he can make a name for himself on the big stage...
His not that short, his a good 5'9 as listed. I remember when he played in the PL he would get knocked off the ball like a fly. Some strength to hold others off would do him good, just don't bulk up to much. Lol, Aguero looks like he has a hard time carry his own legs because they look like bricks.
