You can't put high pressure up the field when you have the slowest center backs...Oh boy, these are simple things every coach has to know...Sigh
napoli really showed why they're considered top 3 in italy, even after losing Higuain... and now Milik... Ziel and Dia destroyed Kondo and Brozo and Hamsik had a greater impact then Banega not to mention their wingers were on target and didn't afford Handa to switch off... even though Icardi had 3 golden chances in the first half and Peri played well along with Canda, who was mostly back defending... i doubt the problem are the centerbacks, i'd even fault Handa for the first two goals but it's in midfield where Napoli played with calm and hit inter quickly on the counter, Hamsik was popping up all over the field and Kondo put in a shift too late in the game...
Well, can't say I'm surprised. Handa hasn't been spectacular this season and Kondo is no DM, Brozo is great pushing the ball up but they both don't have that kind of chemistry in a two man MF that would work. Without Medel, our MF is pretty much hopeless. Leaves the door open and makes life hard for the defenders.

Come January we need another DM more than CB. We have Joao, Brozo and Kondo all fighting for one position. Its clear Brozo isn't going anywhere, wish we took Diawara when we had the chance.
since the midfield is exposed, i'd hope to see 2 strikers with Icardi-Peri up top and Joao with Canda outwide instead... push Banega as DM and play with three at the back... there is no other way around it... with Canda and Joao you'd at least get some gaurante that they'll track back and since Icardi is often left alone up top and has hard time creating chances for himself, he'll have a quick player to play of from... and allow Canda and Joao to join in the attack with Peri and you could still have Brozo and kondo on the field but with more defensive duties and Banega dictating the game and keeping those two in line...
---------Peri----------Icardi----------

Joao-----Kondo----Banega----Brozo---Canderva---

------Ansaldi----Muri------Ranocchia
------------------Handa---------------------

Could potentially work, at least until Medel is back. Pack the MF and give Icardi a partner in attack so he doesn't have to keep dropping further down the field to get some service. Banega can also free himself from the field as Joao is a handy man is working tireless cover others positions. Joao can slip back into the center of the field, Banega can push the play up for Icardi and Perisic.
It's 6th min, and we are behind 2 goals...
Someone have to wake our defenders up...this can't be more ridiculous...
Finally a good performance even though Inter is a swing of emotions and you never feel calm! But all in all I'm satisfied with Inter's performance, for some reasons we are scoring more goals since Pioli arrived (7) and I'm 100% sure he will insist to have an additional defender in January, which is why he tried Medel before he got injured. This might be key to us since we are currently playing with a very weak defence...Btw, guys, what a player Ivan Perisic!!!

My ratings:

Handanovic 5 (guilty on Fiorentina's 2nd goal)
D'Ambrosio 5.5 (we got two goals from his side)
Ranocchia 6.5
Miranda 6
Ansaldi 7 (I liked him a lot, unlike in the derby)
Brozovic 6.5 (good except that he loses pace in 2nd halves)
Banega 6.5
Kondogbia 6.5
Perisic 7.5 (it would've been 8/8.5 if only he scored)
Candreva 7
Icardi 7.5 (this is how he should try to play every match, unfortunately most of times he disappears)

Joao Mario 6
Eder 6
Melo 5 (the usual and unmissable yellow card straight after he came in)

Pioli 7

Welcome back...lol
Glad to see you when we are winning...
Our team is sick! We stop playing after 20th mins...And that's what has been happening in every other games...
Glad we have Icardi and friends who can score..but our defense line is just all over the place...
I hate to admit it but D'Ambro and Ansaldi leave too much spaces down the flank and Banega and Joao aren't in tune with the team as of yet! on the good side though... Brozo is showing some promising performances... perhaps if he continues to develop, he might turn out to be a real gem, no wonder Juve were after him! also, hope Suning saw the show Bernad put on, even though all of Viola seemed to be in dissaray and it's understandable why the coach is on a risk of being axed! they looked really sluggish and besides themselves, if they had pushed on like Beer-sheva, they could've walked away with at least a draw... also that defender Salcedo, really caught my eye, as he also put on a good show, sturdy and very alert, he might be one to watch for the future...

Peri, really needs to stay some extra time after training to work on his finishing as of now, he is wasting too many opportunities that Inter can't afford, he is used to playing as a SS but his finishing is of like a CB! he is a great athlete and does just about enough but he should take on the role of leader upfront and go for scoring goals, even Salah, a player similar to him... is quite good at that, which has allowed Roma to be in that position they are now and take some of scoring burden from Dzeko!
It was a bang of a start from Inter, Icardi really lead that attack, scored two, dished out an assist. Although getting 3 goals so early in the game is a bit of a course as the leading team tends to drop their guard and the opposition has a lot time to get back. Really shocking Viola side, I haven't watched any of their games or payed much attention to them until today, their were below average, although it was win Inter badly needed.

The defense is just a worry, I think Pioli wants to stick with Kondo/Brozo in MF and keep Ranocchia in defense for the time being as Medel is going to be out for a while. It worries me how these defense will fair against Napoli.
Murillo and Miranda been sh*t this season. They cost De Boer his job, and will sack Pioli...watch out and see...
Muri hasn't hasn't been the same after his first season, always being wrong sided and ends up easily behind strikers, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a yellow or something for at least trying but with Samuel and Mira at the team, he could learn a thing or two of how to use his body well as I think he is more of reactional defender rather than one that reads the game well... with Man U to go through an overhaul of their players, I wouldn't seeing Rojo arrive at the club and I've always been a fan of Musachio of Villareal, if Milan don't get him first...
It's a real disappointment to be honest. Muri and Mira where the reason why we were so high up the table last season early on, even with our average FBs.

As much as I like Rojo as well, I think Blind would be a better fit. His a great reader of the game, capable of playing DM, LB and CB. Good on the ball with feet, good range in passing and if Medel can pull of a CB position at his height, I'm sure Blind can as well.
Blind is a good Dm, at Cb or lb he gets caught out too often for lace of pace or vs powerful strikers
Unfortunately man Utd never seem to play him at Dm he is just a makeshift CB imo
That won't be a problem in Serie A. It isn't as end to end as it is in the PL but apart from pace, he ticks all the boxes imo.
talking about Man U players, i'd poach Mata but he has been getting the nod ahead of the likes such as Rooney lately but it's no wonder why plp talk about their defence as it's been leaky and full of errors, Blind reminds me much of D'Ambro, only difference being he is used to playing in different positions compared to D'Ambro... but with talks of Simeone arriving at Inter and having already Icardi, Banega at the team... i wouldn't mind seeing that group of players being strengthened with the likes of Rojo and Musach... or at least Musch... read somewhere Inter been linked with Bernad, Veratti and j. Rodriguez, imagen a team of...

Icardi/Berardi

Rod - Banega - Bernad/Can

Veratti - Joao/Badelj

Rojo - Musach - Medel/Muri - Darmian
Disappointed about the derby's result, despite that last-minute draw.

Inter should've won by at least one goal difference as it happened some other times during this season. The reason why it didn't happen is because of a second-division defence that has to be entirely replaced except for Miranda. Other than that Inter deserved much more than Milan.

My ratings:

Handanovic 6
Ansaldi 5
Miranda 5.5
Medel 6.5
D'Ambrosio 6
Brozovic 5
Kondogbia 5.5
Joao Mario 6
Candreva 6.5
Perisic 6.5
Icardi 4.5 (has anyone seen him?)

(Murillo 5)
(Nagatomo 6)
(Jovetic 6)
the viola will be a good test and i usually enjoy their style of play, eitherway it'll be an entertaining game to watch and Pioli favouring Brozo, he might get the chance to shine a bit more under this new coach if Brozo steps up to his game... mostly dissapointed with Joao as I found him no-show in that game as for Icardi, he had a bad game but what can you do when he is the only in-form striker you have in the team?
a good derby, milan will feel hard done, specially Suso, Loca and Bon that played a good game but Inter would've felt it much more as in the first 21 mins they completely dominated the game and I counted at least 7 clear chances for inter to take the lead before Milan scored... a good approach, Medel as CB and Peri as SS instead of Banega, overall a good read on the team... the only downside being having Brozo and Kondo as two DM's or MC's as they both gave away the ball too cheaply, specially Kondo that insisted on dribbling his way through players... it's understandable why De Boer was frustrated with them!... eitherway, if they can work a bit more on killing games off, they won't have to rely on a last minute goal to bail them out and the season can still be salvaged...
If Kondo is up for sale come Jan, don't see him staying. This team needs another DM badly, just shows how important Medel is to this team.
read that Badelj is on the move, wouldn't mind seeing him get a chance at Inter, specially if it means him replacing Kondo... as for Biglia, he has been having trouble with injuries and isn't currently playing up to his standard, i'd hate for inter to go through another Hernanes ordeal but luckly Candreva has been professional in his role, can't wait to see him link up with Darmian if the rumours are true... too bad Medel got injured, right after getting a chance at CB, did well and makes you wonder how the game would've ended if he had stayed on for the full 90 mins... I'm hoping Pioli tries instead with Ansaldi as CB along with Mira and brings Nago back into the team...
Badelji would be a nice addition. Also, Canderva and Darmian worked so well with each other during the qualifers and WC, so would be nice to see them both in the right side of the field. As for Ansaldi, yes, he would make a good CB because Muri hasn't been at his best since the start of the season but on the other hand, I'm not a fan of Nagatomo.
has anyone figured out why brozo always does well for croatia? no wonder he keeps being linked with arsenal if he is performing so well on the international stage, still has a long way to go before being a complete player but it's understandable why mancini rated him so highly... also that kid named Gudmundsson, ive seen few clips of him in the bpl and he is eye catching, wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a big club or at least a high placed mid-table team in the bpl...
Wouldn't mind offloading him tbh? His a great player but Inter need others and his had good games but his also had bad ones as well. I'm sure he can flourish elsewhere but if a good deal comes up, Inter should sell.

Pioli has some tough decisions a head of him. He needs to address how the team needs to play and what changes that need to be in January because clearly its not working right now. If anything we need a win in this upcoming derby game, a must win in fact.
Montella is getting Milan to play at a good pace, imagen if the investers feel generous, the coach gets his wishes and the players live up to their expectations? we could see a new Milan side next season that will be designed to compete for the scudetto, specially if they enter into CL...

I'm most curious to see just how good Milan are, I doubt Inter will change that much, if they didn't for Mancini and not for De Boer, it'll be the same for Pioli unless we see a different Inter side, I'm sure this Derby will go to Milan with Inter players used to criticism by now and Pioli saying something like 'I only have these players to work with' or 'we can do better'
+1
Milan really lucked out. Montella is a gem. Just the right man for the job, in fact Milan didn't even spend half as much as Inter this summer but goes to show how much of difference a good manager can have on a squad that in all honestly won't match up to Inter on paper.

If Milan go on and make UCl, it sure will be embarrassing for Inter.
And the piece of Sh*t , aka Nagatomo screw things up again...
How many own GOal he scored so far for us? I remember 3 of them...
i think the trouble was inter were looking for a dag-fight and lost out on strength, had they played with a bit more disciplined they could've walked away with a draw or a win if they played them on the counter whilst holding on to their lead, they paid over 80 mil for new players, i dont think new players or just blaming players is the solution, they need to show unity, even De Boer that was at the club for a short term tried to condense the club to a small fraction but failed to get them to unite...
I think Reja would be the best replacement for inter.
I don't really like pioli
i don't think the managers are the issue at inter, before it was the players then at first the treble winning teams players left and since then inter have gone through so many players, all of different quality but never made an impact... not to mention the list of coaches and changes of management, there isn't a consistency at Inter and no manager in the world can steady a big of ship that inter is... I hope they go for a low profile manager and put the responsibility with the manage team that works closest to team and runs the day to day activity involving it and i don't mean the commercial or the finance aspect but the man management aspect, there is no cohesion within Inter, just look at the list drawn up for potential managers, with every department pulling for different coaches but mainly for different reasons...
+1
Its time, nothing more. That's the big issue. Football has evolved so much over the last few years, managers don't have enough time to settle into their new surroundings. I did think De Boer was quality and given time and a transfer window, he would have put something together. He made it clear from the get go players that just weren't working out and giving time to players that should be given a shot. He wasn't so stubborn but just unlucky and let down by a number of our players. Although most of them were never players of his choosing.

At some point, the management must realize, their isn't any quick route to UCL football or manager that's going to get you in that position immediately and certainly not by the way they continue this revolving door of managers.
