watching mancity - real made me realize we could have won the whole thing pretty easily.

Atletico will win the cl 100%

What do you make of this Pjanic rumour? Think we need him?
How are Aguero and KDB expected to live with the non-existent service from the midfield??? NO creative midfield play; for crying out load the attack couldn't link up with the midfield and Pellegrini did nothing to adjust.

City thought Real would mindlessly pour players forward as do Bayern and Psg but that didn't materialize and couldn't on there on find a way to effectively attack madrid.

This was a terrible semi final with all due respect. Not a slight to madrid as you can only beat the team in front of you but city is just nowhere as good as the media make them look. The fact that they look good in the epl doesn't tell a good tale about the league period.

It was already obvious that Real would make it to final when they drew City, I am not surprised at this result
+3
A lot of fans here were scared to face Real when I said I would prefer to draw them, Real hasn't showed anything special this season and had Bayern met them we would be in final. But we will never know

It's funny how people say Pep chose the easier challenges as supposed to going to some mid table team, you know all that load of bull, but seeing city today tells me he has his work cut out.

Lmao if city is supposed to be an easy challenge then wow!! A team like city is so much better than parking the bus, a tactic they haven't totally mastered by the way. Wonder how they made it to the semi really...

The positional pay, pressing, passing was not top level at all. The result does hide city's terrible game play.
+2
I support Guardiola but City IS an easy challenge because $$$$. Wait till the summer ends and then judge if Guardiola has his work cut out.
Funny because Pellegrini had the money too but see what happens when you spend a whole lot of money without a quality coach??? IF city improves then it would be due to Pep doing the right things not city.
+3
They don't seem to know how to press the ball, triangular passes and link up plays from midfield to attack. Pep has his work cut out.

Like I said, I think Guardiola is a great coach, so please don't talk as if I'm saying he isn't. He is also a great fit for City because, as you said, they need a quality coach to make their money count.

But this doesn't mean that it's a hard challenge for Guardiola. A hard challenge would be if he went to Liverpool or Arsenal or some other team that could not or would not purchase world class stars.

Finally, your last post about City's apparent tactical cluelessness is very misguided. They are not a great side but they were not playing their usual style today. They are also not in good form. But man-for-man they are ideally suited to Pep's style of play, because they have so many technical, tactically astute players.
Money isn't everything tanmay,in that case, real Madrid would have won every single liga they played all these years.city needs major overhaul due to average players and aging players.and your perception of Liverpool and arsenal don't have money to spend on required players is just wrong, they too have enough money to spend it .
+3
Therein lies to challenge as you can assemble an expensive team but without a good coach nothing happens. Because of the fact city got money to spend doesn't mean a single thing without a good coach.

Let me repeat myself again. An expensive team was assembled for pelle and except for the league title , he has done nothing in europe. Not even the fact that he hasn't won the trophy but city's play isn't top level. The fact Pep could come in and change the team play regardless of the money speaks to the quality of the coach. And that is a challenge. For your info liverpool under Rodgers spent a great deal of money.... spent it on some unsuitable players maybe but that shows money isn't the end all.
Man you guys. Let me spell out my point of view to you in three yes/no questions.

Is guardiola top class, one of the very best? Yes.

Is it possible he'll do things at city that no other manager could? Yes!

Is City a challenging club for Pep? No! Because there are not many clubs in the world where the conditions to succeed for Pep are better. Outside Madrid, Bayern, Barca every other club is arguable.
Man watching city and facepalming myself, thinking about what would be the status quo had we drawn them instead of Atletico in the semis.

With a performance like yesterday's in a final we would have beaten any team in Europe

Real had to play Europa League to make it to CL final

Yeah looking back at it, the first half was a masterpiece tactically and we put in a magnificent effort.
A pity that we couldn't turn our supremacy into goals :( that Müller penalty is still haunting me.
If you reflect on Pep's career Id list that performance next to that one at the etihad in 2014(?!) or the cup final in 2014

Damn english media and most EPL fans talking s**t about Pep. Some of them are calling him a 'fraud'...

I already feel sorry for him since he is going hear s**t from people in England on daily basis.

Pep is a great coach. Enough said.
+7
True bro. Pep really left it all on the field, the players all did too. Fraud foh with that rubbish! The man has made his mistakes and may have been too attack minded even when being cautious might have paid more but he bring a different perspective no one else brings.

His legacy at barca is ultimately what defines him and that's a burden in more ways than one. The english can only dream of having a coach like him...Here is a question too, ever heard of an english coach winning the CL?

But yet they are quick to judge others. I wish Pep all the best with man city.
+3
I don't get how anyone can blame Pep for that game or even the f*****g players. Bayern like you said, literally put everything out there. Some of the best football I have seen.

For me, the quality of Bayern was even higher than the Juve game. The last time I enjoyed a match this much was the 4-0 we gave Madrid. I'm happy Atletico went through cause I was rooting for a Spanish team but for me, you guys deserved to be in the final.
Tough to see you lose on away goals nonsense. Never liked that rule.
Few years back we felt the same when bayern progressed through even when we beat them 3-1.
Correction 3-2. Talking about the match Robben scored a classic?....
+1
that espn show about is pep a failure. Damn he went savage mode.
was an entertaining game to watch. We lost focus for one second and boom they scored. This game was not peps fault at all we were attacking hard and i loved it. We just lost focus and they clutched it. Anyway next year people!

It is now more than a quarter of a century since a club successfully defended their status as European champions. Why has the trophy known as ‘Old Big Ears’ become harder to hold on to than a wet bar of soap?
