Don't think he will play, but he will be there to share his experience to the others... Pretty much like our Flavio Roma is doing since the last season!

I'm not really sure, transfers are not over yet and I don't know Rodriguez very well, watching Porto is not easy in France.

What I do know is that Ranieri declared there won't be more than 6 players coming this summer.

Let's guess those 6 players : Rodriguez,Moutinho,and a future new goalkeeper (Ruffier, Victor Valdes or Diego Lopez are currently our targets)
This means there are still 3 players to come.

A top-class striker is highly probable. (Crazy rumor about Falcao, Tevez, or Lisandro Lopez)

And we will have a new central back by the end of the summer. Wolf and Raggi are decents, but there are not potential third or fourth good defender in the club.

And as a sixth recruit, a solid midfielder would be great, and Gourcuff would be awesome.

The line up will be really different from now... But it's clear that Monaco want to use its formation center. Germain, Mendy, Kurzawa, Marester, Carrasco are the heart of our club.

But J.Rodriguez, Moutinho and the few others players we will buy will be the key players to our squad.

well moutinho is a box to box player, he does absolutely everything in mid-field (attack, defend, clear, u name it, he does it). once moutinho gets into his mojo u will love him cause he leaves it all out on the field, in my opinion one of the top 5 mid fielders in the world, up their next to the xavi and iniesta's.
and james is a young talent, he is the promise of the future and he was being molded by porto, so even if he isnt top notch at the beginning he will become top notch. he has great skill and plays in diverse positions. in porto he was wingman who came into the center of the field, very much similar to the way bale played this season for tottenham, except not as good, for now, just give him time and everyone will know his name.
