Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta insists Arturo Vidal will not be sold unless the chilean show an intention to leave.

Marotta told Sky Italia: "We have clear ideas. We renewed [Vidal's] contract a few months ago just because we knew we could count on an important element.

"We don't want to sell Vidal, there are only rumours because he is a player among the best in the world. We never activated a clause to try to sell him - if he doesn't show an intention to leave, our position won't change."
Has anyone seen or heard from Woody since he left the Tour on a plane? Season is fast approaching and we still need more signings.
As much as we like to complain about Cleverley or Young, just remember there is always the one and only Fernando Torres.

Lazio signed De Vrij,so that's an end to the story of signing him :)
Crazy. I was almost certain he'd be a United player before the start of the season.
Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed we didn't show any interest.

We surely have to bring another CB in this summer, I wonder who its going to be though, we don't seem to be interested in anyone in that department, some mutterings about Miranda and Hummels but both seem incredibly unlikely.
Can't say we need a young defender. I think we are after more experience.

For those who didn't know, there is a new movie out called "Believe". Its about Sir Matt Busby coming out of retirement to help a juniors team win a cup.

Its had heavy criticism from what I've read, it does sound incredibly far fetched.
Yeah, looks like bit of a drag really, but they claim its a real story, so I don't know.
United is a fantastic film. Will check Believe out as well.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/27/italian-football-racism-row

Carlo Tavecchio, the favourite to become the next Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president, has been caught up in a racism row after referring to African players as “banana eaters.

No wonder some fans are so racist. How can we blame them (even though we should!) when some of the most important men in football are just as racist themselves?!

21st Century and this rubbish is still going on.

May be old news but:
Vidal :" I am not going to Manchester"

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/video/espn-fc-tv/86/video/1959595/vidal-im-not-going-to-manchester
The translation is misinterpret imo, he basically meant he ain't decided because he still a Juve player and just want to talk to Allergri where about his future lies, which is why when he is asked specific to Manchester United he said no and will probably say no if it any other clubs name were thrown in
He was at the airport and asked if he was going to Manchester and he said no, Italy. /end story.

Not expecting him but then again wouldn't be shocked

It actually gets me a little angry to see these guys twist his words like that and go "there you have it, he's not going to old Trafford. He said it himself".

Watch the actual video of Vidal at the airport and see how these guys messed around with what he actually said.
It's infuriating. These guys are basically getting paid to make s**t up.

Haven't seen the original video.. I just thought it was a more credible source of information because it was ESPN. Oh well.
I went to the game in Denver...so awesome to see everybody so close! A bunch of great goals, as well- here's a picture from where I was sitting!

If we can beat and not lose to inter and madrid, there's a good chance of utd playing a derby final in Miami.

Group A

Utd: 3 points
Inter: 2 points
Madrid: 1 point
Roma: 0 points

Group B

City: 3 points
Liverpool: 3 points
Olympiakos: 3 points (Played two games already)
Milan: 0 points (Played two games already)

3 points for full-time win; 2 points for win on pens; 1 point for loss on pens; 0 points for full-time loss
To your point SIF, what would you prefer

united vs pool
united vs city

I would prefer united vs pool or pool vs madrid.
In all honesty, both City and United will want to avoid the final. The final is 2 days after the last league game and that is just too much football at once. Also, I'd rather not see United/City play a friendly. It is like being caught in two minds - do you play for a friendly or respect the rivalry? Nah, I hope it does not happen.

City also have the community shield to play for the weekend after and will want to rest their players.
I hope it won't happen too. No injuries before the season starts please.
the derby could be with liverpool too, just saying.

at any rate the more games for us the better, it's just another chance to get more players fit, and more practice using the new tactical set up. the extra game can only help, i don't see injuries being a major concern since players are mostly playing 45 minutes for us at the moment.

@red, i think which ever team has more of their starters back. the more first team players, the better the preparation imo.

Agree SIF, I think it benefit us more than it Liverpool or City
I noticed we have too many ball playing defenders, but only one aggressive defender that is Jones. So,I think we should sign a defender who's aggressive like vidic
And who might that be?
There is no experienced "aggressive" player on the market right now that is available.

Forget about Mangala, that guy is already a done deal for City, and was bought for almost 30 million pounds.
Second, Benatia will surtainly not move if not an offer(40million+) will be offered. That guy is the first name put in the lineup, and with champions L and a serious shot at the Serie A title, its looking unlikely.
Third, Hummels will be a difficult one, with Klopp refusing to sell, after losing player after player, season after season. Put a right amount on the table, and they might consider it. Has been injured alot these past season.
Fourth and final, Garay comes in mind, and was almost a done deal before SAF resigned. We all now how the manager after him took care of business. Is a strong and passioned player with a good World cup behind him, and was probably the easiest to get out of the guys listed here. Was bought by Zenit a few weeks ago..
So the question still stands, who will/can United go after that meets your criteria?
If Woodward cant answer that question or might have a hard time doing so, he can always buy Olof Mellberg. His legendary beard will strike fear in to the hearts of every professional footballer in the Premier League, and Andy Carroll lol
Vlaar lol
