Arsenal get a reality check,

while Liverpool join OJ Simpson and Oscar Pistorius on the 'got away with it' list
+1
really disappointed how this evra thing has turned out. i'm sure he left utd because he thought he would be playing regularly but conte left and now he's basically a squad rotation player for allegri. if that was the case he really should have just stuck around another season for competition/cover and mentoring shaw.
We have great depth at LB now tho. Shaw Rojo Blind and even Blackett and R.James can play there
+2
you're not hearing me, he's not going prolong his career if he's on the bench. bench in italy is same as bench in england or bench in mls. if he's going to be on the bench then why not here where he's been 8 years and won everything instead of some other foreign club? i think he left because he thought he was going to be key for conte but he left and now he's a squad rotation player for allegri, im sure he didnt see it turning out this way or else he might have stayed.
rojo is our only real depth to shaw, the rest i dont consider good leftbacks. none of those other players have any type of pace or attacking threat (except maybe blind with his long passes since he doesnt get forward much from wingback talk less of fullback).

but that wasnt my point, i mean he's a club legend, i assume he left for italy to prolong his career and didnt want to be on the bench most weeks.. looks like he's still on the bench, in which case im sure he would have preferred to stay, and i think we would be better off with him here too.
Well you said it yourself, he left to prolong his career and he chose Serie A cuz it's a slower league, which meant he realized himself his pace is not that good anymore.
If he had stayed and rot on the bench, he would blame himself of not taking the opportunity to leave. Alternate reality loop right there.

I think our coaches are good enough to teach Shaw what he needs. Keeping Evra just to mentor Shaw is wasting Evra's few good years playing pro and a squad spot for youth.

If there is one player i would have kept, it would be Vidic not Evra cuz that's what we need right now. A commanding CB.
I hear you but how would he know he would rot on their bench if he had not gone there to see for himself?
lol i'm not blaming him for leaving, i'm saying i'm upset how it has turned out. seems he left for nothing and he should have stayed in hindsight, i don't think he was expecting to be on the bench there and that's a shame.
"after utd the only way is down" heh?
@theo only one 90' according to transfermarkt
Don't know about previous games, but I'm pretty sure Evra has started the last 2. Also, they have a beast like Asamoah, surely he couldn't have expected to start all the time.
1 league start, out of 2 and 1 CL start.

Juve normally rotate their back 3 to give Ogbonna, Caceres etc some games, the same will happen with Evra.
+1
So how about that Manquillo dive that gave liverpool their win? if it was united, we wouldn't hear the end of it
+3
Was it Manquillo? I though it was Borini. EDIT: I think you were right mate, it was Manquillo.

Either way it didn't look like there was contact, minimal at a stretch, deffo looking for it.

Cant blame him really, desperate times, this was the home fixture against the unknowns, anything but a win in a fixture like that can spell disaster for progression, its one of those group games that should be an easy win.

Cant see anyone in the CL fearing a trip to Anfield going off that performance, absolutely piss poor, saved by the ref and the goal posts.
+1
add to that the blatant penalty escape from the first half lol so much for all that drumroll before the game. reality strikes heh?
You get these types of game in the CL. The smaller club, playing at home, gets the decision with the home crowd behind their back, and upsets the favorite. See you in the CL next year! Oh, and I mean Ludogorets ;)
lol
Hahahahahaha talk about luck. Wow.
+7
the level of frustration then relief on the lpool page is so damn high. ludogogo who? :P
oooooooooooooooooOOOOO lol

haha wow. pen now. They do love their pens
1-1!!
HOHOHOHOHOHO
lmao oh man that's disastrous. never even heard of the team they are playing before.
lol what was that keeper doing
LMAO This game...
looks like the underdog got a lucky escape
+1
lol
Madrid had to wait until they went 5-1 up before bringing Hernandez on. Poor lad.
went from being a united supersub to a Madrid sub they use when they want to rest legs and the game is basically done
well at least he can get 5 minutes every game at real
+4
olympiakos 3 - 1 Athletico :O

Ludogorets Razgrad just hit the post!! This game could easily go both ways!
lol out of all the games going one, why are you watching the most boring one?
+1
Ludogorets have played well. Unlucky hitting the post and have caused some problems. Think Liverpool deserve the points but they have looked quite poor tonight.
LOL! I was watching the Dortmund one but it was so one sided I was getting bored

Balo scores!
this arsenal team reminds me of the time we beat them 8-2, no cohesion in tactics and individuals look like they don't give a f**k. sad really.

edit: @bazinga sad for arsenal fans mostly. because they have supported their club through thick and thin for a decade now without much reward yet continue to do so match after match. they deserve better performances.
if the same thing happens to chelsea or mc I would not give a damn.
why sad ??:P enjoy the moment :D
lol one funny is that i didn't even notice ozil was playing till they subbed him off. shows the impact their players are having on the game
says the Ajax fan :'D

2004 - Champions League 1st Round
2005 - Champions League 1st Round/UEFA Cup 3rd Round
2006 - Champions League 2nd Round
2007 - UEFA Cup 3rd Round
2008 - Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round/UEFA Cup 1st Round
2009 - UEFA Cup 4th Round
2010 - Europa League 3rd Round
2011 - Champions League 1st Round/Europa League 4th Round
2012 - Champions League 1st Round/Europa League 3rd Round
2013 - Champions League 1st Round/Europa League 3rd Round
2014 - Champions League 1st Round/Europa League 3rd Round
Arsenal haven't been good since the mid 00's
lol Kapone, I actually like Arsenal, but now you've done it. You stopped at 2000 but why don't go back 5 more years in the history books? We've won 4 more European titles than you btw.

And why about today? It's called globalization. Today we just happen to develop some of the world's best players but have to sell them for realistic reasons. But if we didn't, here's what our team might have looked like.

1. Cillessen
2. Van der Wiel
3. Chivu
4. Vermaelen
5. Maxwell
6. Nigel de Jong
7. Van der Vaart
8. Sneijder
9. Huntelaar
10. Zlatan
11. Suarez

I'll also remind you that your team has made statues of players we have developed.

*grabbing popcorn*

Post match entertainment guys! I bet this one on Jeroen 3 to 1!
+1
could have done without the cry in your little corner bit... thought you were making a half decent point before you undercut yourself.

...and the saying is apples and oranges.
Kapone, you're comparing apples and eggs here. It's impossible for ANY club not part of a major league like the Premier League to do consistently well in Europe these days. Arsenal have ten times more income than Ajax. So instead of blaming Ajax, who have been consistently great in Holland since the Cruijff days, you should just cry in your little corner your team has indeed not been great since Henry left.

Also, take a look at the Champions League groups Ajax were in in the past decade. They always drew the toughest groups, but still managed to get decent results against FAR richer teams.
+4
If Ajax's players weren't consistently leaving to more lucrative clubs and leagues, they'd be in the QF's every year.

Put their success in perspective. Relatively, I think it's more impressive than Arsenal's constant slightly-above-average-to-mediocre performances in the CL these past few years.
@kapone in belgium it is apple and egg.
+1
'I have nothing to feel ashamed of. You sir, however, seem to feel very insecure about your team.'

sooooo me reacting to your comment is being insecure about my team... but your reacting to my comment isn't?

Actually, Jeroen is not getting mixed up in this more than he is. Sorry Kapone for that 'cry in your little corner' comment, but your extremely disrespectful post to a team that's been playing as well as it can possibly do in Europe and arguably has contributed more to football's history than Arsenal, really angered me.
aw over already?
fine, I have no problem with Ajax, everyone knows they're a great club.

holy f**k arsenal look lost in that game. what the hell is going on? This is a weakened Dortmund team
2-0 now
Welbeck missed a glorious chance again.
+1
I know many here wont agree..but Welbeck is not a Top4 quality and LVG made a right decision by letting him go.
+1
They had one shot all game.
Dortmund are absolutely battering them!
+2

Dortsmund Arsenal
19 Shots 3
7 (On Goal) 1
They had 3? My bad mate I thought I saw just the one! That's crazy though.

Arsenal barely touching the ball
they should be happy its only 2-0. they have been outplayed in every possible way and Dortmund has missed alot of killer chances
