Couldn't have been worse. I am distraught. And to add to it we lost Silva.

If we cannot defeat Arsenal, who are arguably at their lowest point in confidence in the last 10 years or so then we really have to assess our progress. The referee screwed up for the disallowed goal - but we were 1-0 up at one point and for Arsenal to come back like they did they deserve a lot of credit. Maybe they imagined we were Arsenal and they were someone else.

With all the 4th place jokes n all - we have been much worse than Arsenal in the sense that we have spent a gazillion and still do not manage to better them in so many ways.

OK - now that I have that out of my system - looking forward to the United game. This game is absolutely a 6 pointer. We cannot let United go over us in the table. We have traditionally done well in the last 6 games of the campaign so looking forward to delivering a statement.
Now Silva is going to be gone. Unreal. We really need him for the next game.
Unlucky for you guys in the end today...calls, posts, injury to silva. It was an exciting game to watch.
We can not lose against Utd in the mid week game. One of the most important games of the season for us. They are only 1 point behind us, a win would get us to leap frog over Liverpool who have already played 2 more games already (one game if we beat Utd). Must, Must and Must win!
Hmm we will see how that goes, seems to me when we are under pressure and need a win, more often we lose, have you noticed? Overall squad and mentallity needs changing, if everyone had Vinnie's or even my man Tevez metality we'd be a better squad, we need smart and strong fearless players, not players that crumble under pressure, just my thoughts on our team right now, there are some weak links that needs changing I wont call names, Watch us play United, here is hoping I'm proved wrong.
+1
Not surprised why Pep is waiting for the summer for contracts to expire. He wants to clean the house because we need better players asap in other positions. We have a poor mix of average and old players that need to go.
i agree with SilvaMaestro16...we don't play well under pressure. The team we used to have before with Dzeko, Tevez, Balotelli etc used to handle the pressure pretty well. Sterling has been pretty poor for the past few weeks IMO...KDB doesn't seem to make the right choice either in front of goal...that pass to Delph should have been to Sane to his right, Sane was a lot more free than Delph
Does anyone remember what I said before about us competing for the FA cup?
Basically I said forget about it, we wont make it, not to be a downer but the way we are now don't look for any silverware, I was just hoping for the best but I knew it was going to go this way.
No, but all I have to say today is: bollox
We had a goal that disallowed and a clear penalty not given. We should have buried the game the game in the 90s minutes, 3-1. We lost because we ran out of gas. Arsenal kept pushing while we looked tanked by the second half. After I saw that it was going to extra time, I knew we were done.
Yes, Gabby Jesus is training with the team again! Glad to have him back!

Lets get the win against Arsenal, captain Vinnie is going to play once again. Never been more assured this season about our back line.
I've been feeling this way for quite some time, so I thought I'd share...

Does anyone feel that there generally seems to be a pro-bias towards la liga sides in the UCL (especially decision-wise from the referees)?? Just take this quarterfinals for example:

Atleti - Griezmann clearly fouled outside the box in the first leg against LCFC, but given a pk that ultimately proves the difference and pushes them through.

Real - An epic 2nd leg against Bayern, who heroically leveled the aggregate, was ruined as an awful 2nd yellow was given to Vidal for a fair tackle. Forcing Bayern to play down a man all over-time and ultimately leading to their defeat. Although Bayern, to their credit, were still very dangerous with only 10.

Barca - In the round of 16, Barca played great in the second leg and PSG with the wrong mentality. However, IMO without MASSIVE help from the ref (in particular the Suarez pk), Barca would never have pulled off their historic turnaround.

I may have sky blue-tinted glasses, and maybe the missed calls for City all EPL season have lingered with me, but it just seems like the spanish clubs get the nod on questionable calls more often than not in the Champs League. And I must say, I believe I'm tiring of it.

la liga sides don't get any preference over anyone, its more a matter of them playing more attacking football than the rest. They dribble a lot more with the ball than say EPL teams. With EPL teams its all pass and pass and pass and mostly one touch passes, and as Pep said the ball is in the air most of the time its almost never on the pitch cos players just keep kicking it, where as in La Liga they do dribble with the ball a lot and play more on the ground and then they get fouled and the opponent gets a card. In this case with Vidal it was a harsh one yes but i think it was due to a mistake from the referee not because he purposely gave him the 2nd yellow. Don't forget in the first leg Bayern were awarded a penalty for a handball on Carvajal but that was never a handball that hit his upper shoulder, and the penalty today again that was a pretty soft one. La Liga sides attack more and get closer to the penalty box more often and sometimes get lucky and even when close to the box (in Griezmann's case) but not really in the box get a penalty, its simply due to their attacking football.

The more you play in the opponent's box the more nervous the opponent gets and is more likely to foul you.
I noticed that too that's why we need video refs as soon as possible. I don't get some fans who say video refs will spoil or slow down the game when afternoon every foul players surround the referee for more than 15 seconds.
+1
In an all important game, I want video refs, I mean if we the fans and the tv broadcasting can show us the replay in 3 seconds, why doesn't the ref have any sort of help? I can't understand that at all. Just have one of the refs watch the game live on nbc and its all sorted lol!
+1
Yeah, the VAR technology can also eliminate any corruption in football as well

Jordan Pickford? Yay or nay. On one hand he would come much cheaper, an English player and eventually replacing Hart in the national team. On the other hand, is he good enough? Does he fit Pep's philosophy?

I know Willy is gone this summer. Don't know about Bravo, Pep is staying tight lipped about him.
I read something interesting about Dybala. Back in 2014-15 season, we had an injury crisis that left all our strikers out. Dybala played for Palmero at the time and stated his dream was to either join City or Barcelona. I think its because Aguero played for City and Messi played for Barca. He was being valued at 30mil at that time. Txiki went out to scout him before Pellegrini opted to move for Wilfred Bony instead for 28mil from Swansea.

What a f***ing miss!
+1
Hindsight is always 20/20 though. There is no way to tell if he would have developed the same way had he moved to City or UEFAlona at that stage in his career.

Somewhat similar situation to that Ødegaard kid that moved to Madrid. Where is he now?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well he was killing it in Palmero at the time and tbh he did suit City more than Bony would but I guess it's still hard to say considering Bony was killing it in the PL at that time and many of us wanted him.

Lol, what happened to Odegaard?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry I just wanted to do that lol
That right, no way to tell what would have happened to likes of Ibra, Ronaldo (the one wenger could have signed list) had they joined foursenal.

Or wait, looking at foursenal's performance of last Decade most of them players would have turned into a bottlers or achieved their full potential after escaping the banter club.
well theres no way to know he would turn into the same player if he had gone to epl. the guy is built like a 12 year old and goes down way too easy, way too often in my book.
Yes Kompany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice to see the captain back...lets hope he stays injury free until the end of season...with him even Ottamendi looks world class
^😆lol
Lol! ikr? The entire back line looked good, I was like goddamn, if only Kompany was fit all season we might actually have been in the title race.
Yeah if Kompany and Gundogan had stayed fit we definitely would have been in the title race...Gundogan was very vital in our first 10 wins
Actually Gundogan was introduced very slowly in the fold and wasn't a major factor in the first 10 wins.

Regardless, he could have made a big impact. Kompany too. But that is the past - we should have done better without them given the squad we had. I think it was a given that Pep's philosophy would take a year to sink in. I am not 100% convinced that we are made to play his philosophy yet. Not like we are dispatching teams with 4+ goals each game. Only time will tell. Will have to be positive until then.
^ Gundogan scored quite a few goals in those first 10 wins actually and he fit Guardiola's philosophy pretty well...

But you are right only time will tell, one thing is for sure this summer we will have a major overhaul of players, me and Moe66 had discussed this already i think about 7 or 8 players are out of contract this upcoming summer and since the club hasn't offered them a contract yet its likely they will leave...if any of them were in Pep's plans i bet he would have tied them down already
