With Silva out we need Sterling to pick up his form and his fitness.
I love Kelechi, but to ask him to play 45 mins in such a huge game was too much.

Lets surround KDB with pace and catch them on the counter in Madrid.
The thing about having Silva is that KDB can turn into the AM goalscorer that we love to see. Having Silva around, brings out the best in KDB but not having Silva forces KDB to be our only creative spark which pushes him further down the field.
Today just showed how poor we are ariely, no chance.
Idk about you guys but the network that showed the game kept showing replays or the crowd close ups and we would miss part of the game.

Not a bad result at all. Gives us a platform in the return leg.

Hart was immense. KdB showed a lot of spark. Looks like we might have to nick this one by focusing on defense and counterattacking. They will run us over if we don't play the Ferns in the midfield. With Ronaldo/Benzema back it is going to be a different ball game

Not chuffed here Tomi
If yaya is back pelle would be very stupid to start him.
I hear ya ManOnDMoon - but if we attacked more we would be exposed like ol times. It is upto the front 4 to create the magic. We played very defensively today.

Maybe replace Clichy for Kolarov? but again Bale will eat him up.
from here on out mc goals are much more valuable than rm goals. good luck
^ Exactly, instead of us watching them, they have to watch out for us. I wouldn't dare change the line up, the Ferns were brilliant, Clichy was immense is shutting down Bale and KDB was dangerous every time he was on the ball. The return of Cr7 and Benz will be huge for them but hopefully the way we played today opened our players eyes not to play with fear but with confidence and caution.

Hats of to Harty, what a save!
How you feel about no Ronaldo today??? shitty for us not so much for you guys lol
Haha feeling very relieved, we all know what he can do.

Sans Ronaldo we are matched 50-50. Interesting second half it will be, since we have lost Silva as well.
Silva out... thats gotta hurt.

So Yaya is out for the Madrid game. Expecting the same XI:

Hart
Sag-Kompany-Mangala-Clic
----Delph--Fernandinho--
Navas---KDB----Silva
------Aguero--------

Kelechi to come during the second half for Silva or Navas to switch to a 4-4-2 formation, possibly Fernando comes on for Delph as well. The reason I picked Mangala over Otamendi, in recent weeks Otamendi has been looking more shaky than before, making loads of mistakes.

Best possible scenario would be a not conceding more than 1 goal at home, even if we draw.
I'd start Fernando over Delph. He has been very important for us in the CL

No chance Delph starts today

Everyone is saying we will have a major overhaul in players when pep comes but it might not be so, just look how far we've gone in the UCL barring a few mistakes it could have been an even better performance, I think pep will only get rid of necessary aging players and work with most of our squad in cutting out those mistakes and other important tactics.
With a little bit of luck and some players stepping up for us, it could have been a different stories though.

As for the overhaul, Pep can't get rid of everyone, it would be unreasonable. In fact getting rid of our players will be the hard part, I mean most of our guys are on big contracts, how many clubs can afford for it or even come close? That will be a job of its own. We need imo a CM and a CDM like Gundogan and Kante, along with a CB like Stones and a striker. I know the FB positon has been discussed, we have Deanayer who can play the RB position, we already have him, no point in signing another one. Were only going to need a LB and Cresswell could do the job.
I agree, and Pep will address those problems wisely, unlike some other managers, I'm very excited to see him work.
It is a matter of who can play pep's tactics. He won't sell or buy for the sake of it.
I really am curious about peps thoughts on kelechi! Even when he doesn't score, the kid plays forward and changes the flow of the game. If we bring in a new forward like morata, dybala, etc, should he go to another team on loan? Where he starts week in and week out? I would love to see him become a city great!
I'm sure he will do fine on loan but he will benefit from training with the likes of Silva, Kun, Aguero, Yaya and other future world class players that do join us. In fact with Aguero not being able to stay fit for a whole season, Nacho's role will increase under Pep and finding another striker that suits pep style and isn't injury prone.
Kelechi Kun! Looking forward to see this kid become a City legend.
We talk about Bony and how he doesn't play well because his rusty off the bench, then you have Kelechi who barely plays but manages to score in all most all the games he plays in.

Players for next season (my revisions on Moe's post):
Denaeyer in - demichelis out
Aaron Creswell- Kolarov Out
Gundogan in- Yaya Out
Konte in - ferndando cup matches
Balotelli in -Bony out (just kidding ;) but seriously we need a better back up than Bony. Nacho still is quite young and hasn't seen enough minutes this season to be ready for this second in line role)
Morata in - Bony out

Juve won't deal Pogba but maybe we can prize their young striker away from them.
I agree, Kante would be awesome. Reminds me of Fernandinho, expect younger version. I always thought we need more of Fernandinho type of players that work really hard. I don't see Pogba coming to City unless Barca who he really wants to join and Real who is managed by Zidane who rates him, pass up on him which I highly doubt. Gundogan is quality, he will be even fitter under Pep and hopefully Pep can bring the best out of him. Not sure which striker Pep will go after, the market is short on top quality strikers right now buy Dybala is some player, would like to see the kid join City.

The only position I'm 50/50 on is the CB role. Denanyer is going to be back regardless, he can play RB and CB and Pep likes versatile players. The only problem is, if his going to keep Mangala or not. Mangala is really good on his beast day but he needs a lot of work. As much as I want to see him stay, I don't think Pep will keep him.
why don't we go after vardy eh?he can be a striker or rwf
Boating used to be just as inconsistent as manga is! Look at the player he transformed into. Manga has the workings for a great cb. Not to mention he is playing his best football in a city shirt currently. *knocks on wood*. Will it be kompany and otamendi? or kompany and manga??
conte's going to chelsea mate, where've you been? ;)

or did you mean kante lol

Also why would morata come to sit the bench like bony. He is winning trophies while getting regular minutes at juve.
