City is not interested in buying Falcao or Neymar says Ferran Soriano also Aguero is not leaving City this summer.

is the city vs chelsea game today?
Pellegrini confirmed to leave malaga with his staff ... Welcome to Manchester ?
well that confirms everything i guess. i hope this will bring lotsa positive changes to our team. width play? faster counter attack? anything as long as we perform better than under mancini. he will receive my fullest support
Pellegrini 10 years in europe without a trophy and hes becoming our next manager? city don f****d up

Are we going to sack him if he fails?
the best thing to do right now is not to be divided n just gv yr 100 percent support to the next manager. is he going to get kicked out of the team if you dont support him? nop
come on snitch, how many major euopean trophies had guardiola won when he was appointed? you can't really call that a f**k up... a gamble sure.
guardiola starting from the bottom when he took over barca unlike Pellegrini who is already coaching for years

He really has to win my support
he's a good manager snitch, i was a big fan of both his madrid and malaga teams in terms of style and character. not easy to win trophies in spain with barcelona and messi on your heels. his first season with madrid was not bad either, but they were impatient and wanted mourinho after his win with inter.
he got 96 points with madrid, which is pretty damn good with a team that just signed Ronaldo Benzema and a couple others he took Villareal to semi's of champions league took Malaga to quarter finals its not easy with teams like Villareal and Malaga...i think they appointed him for his success in the champions league the bookies say if we make the semi finals of the champions league this upcoming season we will break even $$$ as far as profit and loss concerns, meaning we will be up there with the financial fair play! which is something that harms weaker and financially troubled teams that cant pay their wages like it happened to Malaga so in a way it still favors the bigger teams cos its making the weaker teams even more weaker! next year Malaga might even get relegated if they dont get money from the european football if they make the europa league at least....thats why i dont like it!
Then tell why people call Rafael Benitez a s**t coach if is all about success in europe
rafa is a genius
they say PSG approached Benitez and so did Stoke lol
u mean why manure fans call Benitez a s**t coach?? its obvious... the manure and liverpool rivalry and reason why Chelsea fans USED to call him s**t coach? again cos of rivalry and in one of his interviews he said he would never coach Chelsea but he knows how to win titles thats for sure he did it with Valencia with Liverpool with Inter Milan (the club world cup) with Chelsea everywhere he went he won trophies
+1
You know, I wonder what if they are trolling us all, what if Pellegrini goes to Chelsea and Mourinho ends up in City – Now that would be a shock lol...:D
Benitez is a very good manager, theres always a few people who just take a dislike to someone and insult them.
The last thing we need in City is a bigger ego, so no I want a humble, hardworking manager who can have a good relationship with our players. Mourinho has a nack for trophies but he falls out with his players all the time and thats the last thing we need. I cant wait for Pellegrini.
@Snitch: come on bro, give the guy a shot and plus we get Isco if he comes to City so thats a huge bonus considering the fact that so many clubs want him. Don't worry he might be trophy less but thats going to change when his given a team with money, depth and quality. His done a great job at Villareal who succeed in CL and Malaga and they dont even provide him with the financial backup we have and despite a record points at Madrid with 96 they sacked him.
Malaga is a money team like yours, but on a lower stage yet look at what he achieved in CL.

If you ask me, it's scary thought having him here.

Esp the last line from Neil.. about stats and holistic
Bayern or Dortmund?
f both
+1
bremen... failing that dortmund will do.. we played a season in the dortmund strip 3 years ago. that's about the only connection to either team in the final i can muster.
Bayern dominated with no remorse for humanity but Dortmund worked their way up and I can't count them out. Its hard but for me Bayern deserve it.
Anyone know what time we'll be playing Chelsea this week?
7:30 pm (US time?)

uhhh... chelseafc.com have it on as free to view - nice

If you guys have about 14mins to kill, watch this video about “mirror neurons” that might explain Why do sports fans, like us, feel so emotionally invested in the game, such as football:

i dont like jersey with round neck
The Manchester City Etihad Player of the Year will be announced after June 4th, and I think it should be either Zabaman or Nastasic, what do you guys think?
I think Zabman , dude was relentless till the end of the season , earned it
+1
Couldn't agree more mate!
Zabman for sure!
"Manchester City Football Club are proud to announce, in partnership with the New York Yankees, the acquisition of the Major League Soccer’s 20th expansion club" and the new team will be called New York City Football Club.

http://mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2013/May/Club-announcement-New-York-City-FC-to-launch-21-May

Fantastic was waiting for it to be official, City know how to market their club and set examples through the community football fields they built in various states in addition to their current visit to NY and other pre-season tournaments "Audi cup", thanks to the heirarchy's visionary leadership City is a growing franchise and our fans are increasing gradually globally.

Welcome to the world of football NYCFC.
+2
I have seen many butthurt utd fans commenting on this story
+4
i grew up a yankees fan, the first ever team i supported in any sport.. i feel like throwing up..lol.

the liverpool-red sox link made sense and i welcomed it, but this f*****g sucks. why are the YANKEES buying a soccer club anyways? world's gone mad.

lmfao dont let your butt hurt so much
+3
@SIF why not? it's a win-win situation, "soccer" is becoming more popular in the states which in return brings more new yorkers into football and City expand their marketing and fan base.
+3
well it's a risk; if the team isnt popular, it could become a financial drain on the yankees and city. i think the whole marketing stuff is a bit overrated, i don't see how owning a franchise will drastically improve either teams' fanbase. what WILL improve the fanbase for all teams is the new nbc tv deal making virtually all premiership games freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! :D

does anyone know when that deal takes place?
The MLS is growing at a vigorous pace every year, anyone who follows it and goes to games regularly can't deny that. A team in Queens will almost certainly be popular. Having a team there promoting the City brand will definitely raise City's profile. As for whether or not that will have much impact on MANCHESTER City is yet to be seen.

The implications of the deal are what I wonder about. Will the likes of Suarez and Rekik (or their 2015 equivalents) be sent to NYC on loan? Will the best of the NYC team be cherry-picked by MCFC? It should be interesting.
+2
i think every united fan's butt will hurt crazy but especially @SoccerIsFootball's butt hahahahah and rightly so they cant digest the fact how big city is growing and at the speed of light!!!!!

P S reports in Italy say that the Cavani and Dzeko deal is done and dusted the reason Bigon went to city is to formalize a few things but deal was done before the season even ended! f*ck i cant wait for next season to beat those "butt hurt" united fans 6 - 1 again!
+1
you guys aren't making any sense. how many of you actually live in the USA as opposed to in europe? city owning a new small club wont raise its own profile. that makes zero sense.

people here in the usa already follow the european teams more than they follow the mls. there's a reason nbc is buying the epl tv rights. those games are already immensely popular here. so much so that mainstream sports channels like ESPN play highlights from epl games regularly now, and of course had games available on espn apps and such for free. buying out a team wont make a difference. as a us neutral fan, why should i watch city because they own a team in the US? logic fail.

it makes more sense for city to buy top american players if they want an american following. everyone knows about dempsey and donovan, so when they perform abroad the usa fans notice and pay more attention to fulham/spurs(dempsey, friedal)/roma(bradley)/everton(tim howard, brad guzan, and when donovan was there) and now dortmund since they signed a promising 17 year old american recently. this reverse situation makes no sense to me.

as a yankees and utd fan, of course it makes my stomach cringe (/sarcasm), but from a footballing financial point of view, this move suits the mls way more than it suits city or the yankees.

lol and manchesthair you sound pretty desperate.
+6
@SoccerIsFootbal well you said your butt hurt pretty bad we just didnt know how bad though by writing out that essay above we now know its pretty damn bad! lol

EDIT: by going from your "hurt butt" to ur "stomach cringe" you not gonna fool us!
I'm from the US, so I guess I meet your qualifications for having an opinion on this issue. How is this new club already a "small club"? MLS has far more parity than BPL. It will be just as big or small as the other franchises in the MLS. Don't let your allegiances color your perceptions.

As you well know Man Utd. is the most famous club in the US. You go to a store selling soccer apparel and find it's 90% Utd. and Barca gear. City gear - nowhere to be found. ESPN does not regularly play highlights here, on SportsCenter for instance they only occasionally show highlights of major games such as important Utd matches, or El Classico's. The commentators call Zlatan Ibrahimovic "Zoltan" by mistake. This is a growing market, not an established one.

Having an MLS team with inherent ties to one of the major BPL teams (which, as you noted, is becoming popular here) will give more visibility to MCFC. Will that help MCFC make money? Not directly maybe, but the more people that see the team the more people become aware of Man City as an alternative to the hegemonic popularity of Utd., Barca, RM, etc. the more fans they're likely to acquire.
+2
lol @napada, you don't know what you're talking about, i never said i was butthurt. as a yankee fan it makes me sick because it seems like a massive waste of money.

franchising an mls team with the intent on making money by expanding your fanbase is the dumbest thing i've heard in a while, no offense. i'm shocked the yankees thought this would be a good idea, they're going to have to put so much money into this for years before it gains any type of popularity. the NY redbull have henry and they still don't sell out their stadium

@blue moon, by showing highlights, i mean top plays. the top goals of the week regularly show up on espn top plays, but you're right, mostly the big name games show up in terms of individual game highlights..but that only makes sense, the epl isn't a US sports league, it's never going to get to the point where every team game gets a highlight section.

it's definitely going to be a small club, it's brand new.. it doesnt even exist yet lol. they'll be sharing a local fanbase with the philly team, the ny red bull, and the ny cosmos..at the very least it's going to be a heck of a lot smaller than yankees or city, so i don't see how this adds to either teams profile

and the only way to really improve following in the usa, besides signing usa players, is to win the biggest competitions regulalry and have the best players. making a franchise wont have any big effect, this idea just seems absurd to me.
+6
Smaller than the Yankees or City? You do remember that we're talking about an MLS franchise, right? Of course they'll be smaller, lol.

Furthermore, after reading many, many holier-than-thou posts by you on this City page about our spending, the fact that you are a Yankee fan is the most delicious piece of irony I've seen in a while.

You've made your views known about the matter at this point, you don't understand it and think it's stupid. Please remember that this is a page for City fans to talk about City, not a page for you to lecture City fans on our owner's decisions.

SIF knows everything better

lol i'm from around the new york area, i actually used to live in queens.. queens is technically NY Mets territory, but i grew up in an area dominated by the yankees.. my first school was named after a baseball player actually, and that (and basketball) were the sports i grew up on as a kid.

i don't see the irony there buddy, yankees DO spend a lot, but they are way more like real madrid than city; the yankees are the most prestigious (in terms of history) club in baseball, not a club spending a ton of money trying compete with the traditional big boys ;)
@SoccerIsFootbal knows better than everyone EVEN better than the CEO of man city Ferran Soriano who is also a former Vice President of Barcelona (the best team in the world by many views)

EDIT we should probably fire Ferran and replace him by @SoccerIsFootbal
+3
pls do something that could stop the deal:D

@Manchesthair

sif for president

lol, i must sound very convincing if you guys want me for president ;). it's just my opinion after all ;)

but it's no secret im a fan of man utd, i will turn down your offer to join the city project and wait for a bigger club haha ;)
As many of you pointed out, the mighty United fans are butthurt. As far as SoccerIsFootba, he's one of those individuals that thinks he’s the smartest one and everybody else are dumb. As many of you know by now, he posts a lot here but there is no substance in those posts. I could go on answer line by line his posts and show his baseless claims; nevertheless, knowing him it will be just a waste of time as it will be like I am talking to a brick wall. LOL… just look at his drivel claim that this whole thing is “absurd” and “makes zero sense”.

Here are some of the reasons listed in this article:

“The reasons City are doing this are, of course, quite simple. The world’s football markets were pretty much sewn up by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool before the Arabian takeover of City in 2008 propelled them towards the top of the English game.”

“America, though, remains a confusing market. Chelsea and United, for example, have been here and tried to leave their footprint. Success has been limited, though. United launched a partnership themselves with the Yankees in 2001 only to see it fail.”

“By essentially sticking their sky blue flag firmly in the ground here, City hope to become America’s most recognisable English football club.”

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2328496/Manchester-City-New-York-Yankees-start-New-York-City-Football-Club.html

P.S. The future is blue :D

As far as the NYCSC success, “Ferran Soriano, CEO of Manchester City, said the English club would likely loan its marquee players to the New York team at some point. The organization's extensive scouting network in Europe and Latin America could help the club achieve immediate success, he said.”

"As many of you pointed out, the mighty United fans are butthurt. As far as SoccerIsFootba, he's one of those individuals that thinks he’s the smartest one and everybody else are dumb."

am i supposed to take anything you say seriously after reading that? honestly, sometimes i wonder if you guys think before you post, because that comment makes you sound like a snob. when people start tossing around accusations and insults, it just gives the impression that you don't have anything meaningful or relevant to say so you resort to childish behavior.

but that's an interesting article (dailymail), it's an interesting idea, but seems to me something that would take years and lots of money to develop and see reach fruition. one to keep an eye on i suppose. seems like this is some sort of marketing tool, but like i said before it will depend on on the pitch success, and it's a strangely indirect means of trying to build up a fanbase and commercial partnerships.

but in context of the article, the very indirect approach by city here makes sense now given other clubs have tried to make an american fanbase or commercial foothold and have largely failed.
@SoccerIsFootbal "honestly i sometimes wonder if you guys think before you post"

are you for real man??? look how much crap and negativity you have posted on here but we have replied to you with much respect....if one of our fans were to post something like you posted on here or just voice their "opinion" do you know what will happen to him/her???

everyone on footytube knows that city fans are actually the most respectful and nicest fans on here ... we do throw cheap shots once in a while here and there but we dont take it over the border we know the limit .... we get fans from all over the site come on here and just leave a comment saying "you guys have the nicest fans on here" something that you will never see on your forum!

where as your united forum?? come on mate don't be delusional and don't fool yourself your fans are the most disrespectful pathetic ridiculous i can go on and on and most ppl will agree with me on this site!

and do you want prove?? when you lost 2 - 1 to us at old trafford all the fans on this site ganged up on you guys which led to some of your regular fans quiting this site all together but when we lost to you or even when we lost the title to you nobody ganged up on us on this page or on the premier league page .... thats how much your fans are hated around this site so dont kid yourself man you sound like a guy that knows his stuff but no more than me or anyone else on this page cos we all follow the exact same media....but dont be delusional when it comes to "fans" enough said!
+2
Hahaha… typical response (referring to first part of your post) but no worries, the feelings are mutual because, just like you, “honestly, sometimes i wonder if you guys [United fans in this site] think before you post”. :)
+2
@foooty, well i agree that was rude of me, and i apologize.

however.. you were being condescending meanwhile describing me as condescending, and i found it unbelievable that you didn't realize that. im not ghandi, eventually i will say something not nice if i'm being hounded. ;)

and @ napada read above, how can you be describing me as "butthurt" and all the other nonsense above and say you were being respectful? what a joke, this is exactly what i am talking about in my response to foooty.

EDIIIIT: anyways, my original opinion stands, this project is extremely roundabout way of achieving financial success in the usa and seems like a bad idea to me in the short term (seems the risk far outweighs the reward here), but only time will tell. i don't see this having much success in the short to intermediate time scale (5-10 years) because it will need to rely on on-pitch success to generate meaningful fanbase and revenue, but looking long term (15, 25, 40+ years lol..), yeah maybe we will look back and say this was a genius move.
@SoccerIsFootbal "read above" i said we do throw cheap shots here and there but we never go over the border cos we know the limit! look above how many times we have let you post without bashing you or showing you hate .... on your forum one post and your done!

EDIT in fact i will tell you what will happen if one of our fans posted their "opinion" on your forum just like you posted your "opinion" on this forum this would be the reply

"get the f*ck back to your own page"

now did you see a reply like that????

i proved to you how your fan base is hated by everyone when you were ganged up on on the premier league page but u cant say the same about our fan base!

here is another thing your typical plastic manure fans do...they come here kiss our asses saying "that was a nice goal by tevez/aguero" or whoever scored or simply congratulate us on a win for which they obviously receive a lota likes cos when a rival compliments you thats something huge BUT the same minute they go to your own united forum and start bashing that same tevez or aguero saying man that was a "fluke" goal.....and not only that i have seem some of your fans do the same on the inter and AC Milan forums Madrid and Barcelona forums just so they can get likes .... thats is a true definition of a plastic rag fan

perhaps they do it to improve their fan evaluation?? even then i personally think its pathetic!

EDIT P S when u add a paragraph to your comment you should type EDIT before your paragraph :P
lol yeah napada..sometimes i forget to say edit ;)
It’s all good man, sometimes the rivalry gets the best of us :)
