A win against Chelsea is going to be extremely important. We are currently 5 points behind Chelsea and a lose would put an 8 point gap behind us and them, no reason for that kind of gap to be there early on. The biggest problem that arises for me is Yaya. Last season we lost twice to Chelsea in PL matches and this season they have Fabergas added to their MF and even with an in form Yaya Toure we failed to beat them last season and now with this lazy Yaya Toure it spells trouble for us in the MF battle because idk Fernandinho isn't going to be enough. Kompany&Demi will have their hands full with Costa but the MF is key for Chelsea and our talisman from last season is beyond poor. We really needed Fernando for this game, wish he wasn't injured.
We all blame Yaya, but he is not a defensive midfielder and MP should know by now, playing him in that role is disastrous, Not only he does not play well, he became frustrated also.

like @SilvaMaestro16 said below, we should try fernando, fernandinho and play Yaya forward...
When is Fernando coming back??
just watched highlights from the city-bayern game. Joe Hart played amazing. In a way it was a shame bayern scored the late goal, but they did deserve a goal too. better luck next time
looks like moe66 already said the exact same thing
Anyone feel like trying a Fernando, Fernandhino pairing, I can hear Martin Tyler calling their names now, it sounds good.

I know we have been at Toure but I think many people also forget that his brother passed away during the world cup. It may be a mix of lack of fitness, unhappiness and grievance. Maybe he needs a bit of time off?
How about he get some pay off as well? I understand that he has gone through a tough time but then he should make way for others and not hog 300k a week. How much time do you need for match fitness? He has been around for 2 months since pre season. Looks more and more like he might be less effective in midfield, which is sad.
@Silva, no man he doesn't need time off his already out of shape and out of form. We would really be damaging his City career if we gave him time off. Its sad that his brother passed away but at the end of the day you still have a job to do, hell I don't mind seeing him come off as a sub if that's the case and the fitness coach is not doing his job, needs to get Yaya back match fit.
Alright, but what do you think about the pairing of Fernando and Fernandinho? I think it could be really good, and both are Brazilians.
Oh yeah for sure. Fernandinho can have the freedom to push up considering his a box to box MF and like we saw in the Bayern game his got a bag full of skills when it comes to connecting passes. Fernando can just tuck in right above the CBs and provide that much needed protection with his size, speed, strength and good positioning. I'd bring back Bruno Zuculini after Yaya leaves for the AFCON so he can get some playing time and I'd love to see him in the PL.
+2
^ Exactly what I was thinking.
@Silva, I think you and Moe are right on the money. I am not talking about replacing Yaya, but somehow we need to create a partnership between the Brazilian pair to cope with Yaya's AFCON and general lazy days. I think Zuculini will be a great addition too. Don't think he is getting time at Valencia yet tho.
^ Its quite disappointing that Zuculini is not getting much minutes in Valencia, wanted to see him play at a club that was going to hand him game time.
This is the 4th season we are in CL, same players till now, they should have been aggressive and hungry enough to beat anyone.

Dzeko is good in front, but it upsets you to see him score once after 5 chances, first two games he was great, then I have seen even Adebayor doing that before a contract renewal... sadly

we shouldn't worry about all not tall in front, how Barca thrived? its the hunger to win..which is lacking, most of them look lethargic... playing for the sake of playing..
Some players looked good at a specific time during the game but looking at the whole game we weren't good from start to finish as a team or even fighting together. Its just the way we played, I would rather have seen a fighting City as a team lose then a lethargic City lose to Bayern. When you look at their squad and ours I don't see us at a disadvantage, we have just as much quality even with Fernando and Jovetic out but like before in CL league City have failed to show up when it most mattered and its disappointing.
We dont need to worry right now

our next 3 cl games are

Roma - at home
CSKA Moscow -away
CSKA Moscow - home

Why cant we get 9 points from it?? We most not draw or lose at home against Roma
Gervinho was incredible last night, Lets hope CSKA Moscow was not inform this game... 5 -1,
He was incredible because CSKA Moscow players were just s**t last night
City put on a good effort no doubt but Bayern had us on the rope every single time they caught us on the break and we could really have taken advantage by catching them on the break and scoring because we hand a number of chances. Still Bayern looked like the side to score they just were more ruthless then we were and going forward City need to play better because Hart was our savior, simple as that MOTM.

What happened to Toure and Nasri this season? Today they should have been replaced around hour mark by Augero and Milner and play 2 strikers in the front so that we could have won it.
Toure is really out of shape this season, I wonder if its his age that's draining his ability after all he is 31....... I know he can give us at least one more season on top form. Generally for some reason he's not pushing his performances to the limit lately he's playing extremely lazy. I say we look for another CM in the summer, if he feels like he's too big for the club.
Miss the game guys, got out late from work........ 1-0 were the boys unlucky or did we play really bad?.
Draw, Lose, Win?
How about Yaya getting all cosy with Pep, that pissed me off
+5
LOL, he was smiling like he won the match too.
+1
@ snitch...You never know, maybe he told him he wants to come for it next season.
Maybe he thought pep has his birthday cake
+2
trust me, footballers do that all the time and it makes me rage. Like when Andre Santos switched jerseys with RVP right after he left us. To make matters worse, it was half time and not full time.
Yaya is a friendly guy but sometimes he needs to just stop and take what happened as serious as everyone wearing the sky blue kit. He didn't even play well.
He is an ex-barcelona player, so hopefully just saying hello. Like in the beginning they showed in the tunnel, Schweinsteiger and demichelis hugging, then dzeko & Schweinsteiger, these are international players so knew each other or played sometimes together...

But it is upsetting to see after we lost... Plus he didn't make any effort.
Silva's was a clear penalty
Yeah, but I wish we weren't depending on penalties.
+1
ok Silva, but at this level any incident is vital, you saw yesterday Liverpool got the penalty and the 3 points.
You do depend also on penalties
I understand that Moonman, just saying I wished we played well enough that we didn't need them to win a big game in crunch time.
desperate times, desperate measures thats all. it is...
