Yaya looks in even better shape this time around. His been immense for us, dubbed the new quarterback of Man City. Honestly, I don't know he finds some of the passes he does, literally cuts the middle man and lobs in a pass right into the 18 yard box. He will play a big role this upcoming season but I really worry if him and Fernandinho are enough for an entire season. I would rely on Gundogan but his injury prone. Delph and Fernando are most likely gone this summer. Would like to see Aleix Garcia play in pre-season, he seems to do well as a holding MF, lacks the strength but his distribution is great. Also that young Brazilian we signed Douglas Luiz, seems like a really talented young B2B MF. He will be loan at Girona FC in la liga next season.
I think diaz and Foden should get a chance
They certainly showed flashes of brilliance, it won't happen that easy. Their both 17 and still really young. Pep realizes the pressure of promoting more youth players and these two play football well above their age group. Best case for them would be to loan them out but considering their age, Pep might keep Foden and loan Diaz (who has been loaned out before). Tbh, I don't want these youngster going back in forth to Holland, I want them to play in England, possibly in the Championship. It would be rough for them but half a season on a short spell loan will test them and prepare them to play in the PL. Either way, Pep really needs to nurture these two youngsters well as they have potential.
Danilo: "It wasn't a difficult decision to choose City over Chelsea. The moment Pep called me, I knew what I had to do.“

Conte: "We tried to buy Walker".

And Chelsea was also after Mendy.

So, it seems-like we did Chelsea Left & Right this transfer window LOL...
make sure you don't post this in the premier league forum cos Chelsea fans seem to get very emotional recently lol
We probably offered more money but earning more money and working under Pep. Hard to refuse that. Honestly, the importance of having quality FBs/WBs is often overlooked. Spurs and Chelsea had a strong defense but people will overlook Rose/Walker and Moses/Alonso, they were just as essential to the team as the CBs where. Now that we have the FBs, if we can figure out the CB situation we will be a tough team to beat.
Its just pre-season but good response after going down against Utd. Second game of the season but the boys played really well. KDB is just world class, had a hand in three goals, I hope he has a breakout season, were really lucky to have him. Ederson played really well, I know his going to prove people wrong and as for the back line, Stones and even Mangala looked good in a back 3, Kompany and Otamendi (although he scored) struggled but its just pre-season. As for the youngsters, first Foden and now Diaz, gotta say we have two young quality players who are looking ready to go. Add Patrick Roberts to that list as well.
KDB King De bruyne, loved the guy since he moved from Chelsea, so glad to have him.

Did you hear the comment Neville made about Foden being at the wrong club, and he won't get a chance at first team?

Oh yeah, I read about that. Of course his going to say that. As if going to Utd would give him game time lol!

Its certainly not easy being academy player at City, you really have to compete with the best players to earn your place. Even Patrick Roberts who's proved himself at Celtic and in UCl, is having trouble breaking into our first team. Sent them on loan and let them play as much as possible.
It's tough. the thing is we need those players, I hope we can loan as much as possible until they get into first team, Foden and crew are still so young, 2 or 3 year loan to first team isn't so bad.
I told you guys that Pep is going to use Danilo as LB :p he's honestly way better on the left side even as a LWB
So far so good.
I don't want to here anymore about how where going to break the record for Mbappe or get Sanchez, were clearly not going to. I want to here about a CENTERBACK!

I think were waiting to offload Mangala first but really hope we can get a good CB this time around. We haven't really been linked with anyone and have missed out on Rudiger, Lucas Hernandez, snubbed by Bonucci and being priced out of VVD, looks like no one wants to play in Pep back-line lol. His demands for CB is truly tough but I can't watch Stones making mistakes, at this point he should be our 3rd choice and earn his spot on the team. Kompany can't be considered 1st choice as his always injured , so in the long run its gotta be someone that will play alongside Otamendi. Otamendi is a rash defender and very phyiscal that's why he needs a smarter CB to compliment him like Kompany. If were serious about going for the the UCL, I would make another move for Ayermic Laporte. He snubbed us once but I would try again. Reads the game really well, can spray passes from the back with ease, great timed tackles, and good header of the ball during free-kicks. Its no wonder Pep wanted him so badly. At 23 his bound to be a world class defender one day.
Good luck to all our players that left us this summer in whatever they do, they served the club well!!
The hate for Man City grows every time a new signing comes in. Bahahahaha!

Atleast on footy Aguerocity and logic has a very big hand in that LOL!
+2
Eh, "logic" you said, ah? Unfortunately, I don't have that much time to respond to footytube posts as much as I used to but It's amusing to see Chelsea fans comments about City's spending, as the saying goes "the pot calling the kettle black" LOL...

Bazinga:

"---------------Ederson---------------
Walker---Stones--Otamendi ----Mendy"

"Tell me if this most expensive (200m) defense is better than defense of any Top team from top-4 leagues across Europe?" - This defense has not played a SINGLE game yet, unless if you have a special power that sees the future, how on earth can you make this claim about it, ah?

"Like i said City defense is probably worse than Everton at this point even with Kompany" - HAHA...like you said it yourself "Just wow to this epic statement" - oops, I meant BASLESS:

Last season Goal conceded by:
Arguably City's worst defense: 41 goals
Everton : 55 goals

Moe66, I think it's more jealousy as most of these teams have the money but their owners are not willing to spend it as much as ours, which makes us fortunate to have these owners. I want us to have the best players and I don't care how much they cost as long as the club is willing to pay for it. Let's look forward to the exciting season that's awaiting us and leave all these spending stuff for the accountants of this site :D

^ 1st look who triggered the discussion by making what post and then judge the response given both others.

"This defense has not played a SINGLE game yet, unless if you have a special power that sees the future, how on earth can you make this claim about it, ah?" - When a special person can claim that Mendey fee increased from 40m to 52m because chelsea paid 60m for Morata. I can come-up with special logics too right ?

"Just wow to this epic statement" - oops, I meant BASLESS:" -Have patience and look at the base post which triggered response from everyone not only Chelsea fans. Wow talking about baseless?

City have 5 players with 50m cap and every penny they pay is worth for players . but if we bough 1 player for 60m its market inflation? Baseless much ?

If city let 5 players go and replace them its sensible rebuilding? if others do its inflation and bad deal? Do you know how many players we lost this season? Kurt Zouma, Asmir Begovic, Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah, Dominic Solanke, John Terry , Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Costa , Matic....We may have got Morata for 60m, but we will sell enough players to cover most of our transfer fee.

Anyways enjoy bro...lets not continue baseless arguments.

@Bazinga go read that thread in the premier league forum again Kgb112 apologized cos he made several mistakes in his posts dude
+2
ok sir..we will learn from mistake and try to be perfect like you guys going forward.

"I can come-up with special logics too right?" - LOL...this is your explanation for your drivel and you're trying to talk about "logic," ah? How do expect anyone to take you serious, it's like saying X person said he'll jump out of the 5th floor window, well I can come up with better, I will go and jump from the roof of a skyscraper.

Annnd I was thinking that I was responding to a mature and so-called "logical" individual. Well, this is my last response to you - good luck and thanks for clarifying to ignore your future posts as they're most likely based on "I can come-up with special logics" drivel, not facts.
Ok Mr. Mature.

Sorry for inconvenience to some highly mature and logical members here! Cheers
Mendy deal is done. 2-3 more players at max coming in next. Boy the ownership is really going for it this season. Where going to hit the 300mil mark by the end of the transfer window.

Now we need:

Another LB: Bertrand probably, or maybe Pep has someone else in his plans.

DM: Yaya is too old and Fernandinho can't play every single game of the season, also his 31 years old atm. Not saying his done but we need someone else to rotate him with.

CB: I just don't know what to say about our CB signings. They been beyond awful. Heck, Otmaendi's 28mil looks like a steal compared to what we spend on Stones and Mangala. Not to mention the fact that Fernandinho has to play CB at times goes to show how bad our CBs are. Otamendi isn't favored by Pep but has no choice but to play him, Stones is full of errors and Kompany is made of glass. I really don't know who will come in next now that Kolarov is gone with all the news covering LBs.
DM we have enough players don't forget Gundogan, Fernando and even our new Silva can play in that position
Make a boss move and get vvd.
@AgueroCity, Fernando is headed to Galatasaray, no surprise as Pep hardly turned to him for anything. Gunodgan imo, I like much better as a CM because he did struggle in defending at times and personally, his better when given more freedom in that CM position. As for Silva, idk what you mean how is Silva going to play in DM?

@Lordjaggi, It will break Liverpool's heart if we got VVD. It would be too funny.

Mendy's got speed
If we sign Bertrand it will be perfect. Mendy is a beast on both flanks but his a defensive monster, Bertrand is also very similar and so underrated but doesn't have the strength Mendy's got. Danilo and Walker are just attacking FBs which would complement our defensive FBs. Either way, all 4 can play as wing-backs.
