A fantastic & well deserved win annnnnd Sterling what a way to shut up the haters - let's keep it up!:D
I hate him so much lol
@Footy, for sure. I always felt like he was unfairly treated and his only 21 which people seem to forget. His still very young. Looks like under Pep he has the licenses to attack more freely whereas with MP he had cover for Kolarov many times in defense, which largely goes unnoticed.
Lol, Etihad looked packed today. Geez why can't the fans show up week in and out, their getting quality football that some fans would love to see.
Wow, great win from the team. Really looked convincing, dropped off in the second half but finished well either way. David Silva is just class, motm for me, amazing player. Sterling continuing his good form, Pep has done wonders for his confidence, he looks like his finally enjoying himself. Hopefully the critics can get off the guys back for once.

Great win, on to the derby!
I think you guys need Gundogan to complete the team. At the moment you're lacking the deep lying CM who will distribute the ball creatively the way Xavi did for Pep at barca. Fernandinho isn't creative with his passing. Once Gundogan starts playing your team will become a lot more fluent.

Any news on his return?
+3
Fernandinho is playing the Busquets role though. Silva is playing the Xavi role. I have been hearing that Gundogan can slot into both roles - cannot wait to see.

Btw - Ilkay is back in training. He might have a small part to play in the Manchester Derby.
Its going to be a tricky situation, it would seem like KDB should make room for Gundogan but again KDB has done well in his own right. The guy deserves credit because his not a traditional CM but he certainly causes trouble when he teams up with Silva to string passes than throw off the opposition. Although Gundogan is the more true CM, he can offer a more defensive game and is a natural deep-lying play-maker. Its going to be a tough pick for Pep.

I suppose in games where we are going on the offense, KDB is going to picked, in games were we were going to defend and try to play from deep, Gundogan is the man for the job.
Good win guys. We are terrific in the first 30 mins but lost the intensity a little bit later.

Aguero might receive a ban. Stupidity with the elbow he really did not need to do that. Nasri looked good :D I was screaming when he almost got the goal!

Silva MOTM for me today. Getting to his sublime best.
He should be banned and fined over his conduct.
We can't deal with high pressing and long ball play, that's what West Ham did in 2nd half.
First 20 min you were unplayable. Obviously it's impossible to play with the same intensity for the whole game. So far you and Chelsea look the most serious contenders this year.
Silva back doing silva things
I've seen the replay, his elbow doesn't connect with Reid
It looked like there was contact to me. But that's irrelevant, contact is not a prerequisite for a red card for violent conduct:

"Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."

It's like a guy going studs up on you. Whether he hits you or not it's a red card. Or someone swinging at you but missing, pretty sure it would be a red too.
It should be a clear red card. Now if it overlooked by the FA, I won't be the one complaining
Side note Basti got a ban for doing similar to Reed last year. He is a good defender, gets under people's skin by dominating or frustrating them.
If Fellaini can get away with this, I don't see why Kun should be charged but then again it's consistently inconsistent FA we're talking about lol:

Aguero is shorter as well while Reid is a bigger defender. Not sure if anyone here has played football but with your back to goal you use your elbows as an anchor to keep balance. Man U fans praying he gets a ban lol
Looking good guys 👍👍👍
How bad is stone's injury?
Commentator said they understood he was withdrawn just for a poke in his eye. So it's probably nothing.
Sterling! 3-1 Pep has done wonders with that lad!
2-0 let's keep it up lads!
Our u18s thrashed Liverpool 7-0 and our u16s thrashed Burnley 6-0 - future looks bright & blue!!:)

Welcome Bravo! It's going to be an exciting year! I can't wait to see how Pep turns this team into a well oiled machine. Who else is exited?

Hart we appreciate all you have done and wish you luck in your future endeavors! I don't see him sticking along much longer he's not going to want to sit around being 2nd or 3rd fiddle.

I hope to see a more consistent City than we've seen in a while. More rotation and introduction of youngsters from our youth system. Let's get ride of any negative vibes of this page as well as negative players that'll affect the squad. Tomorrow is going to be a big test to see how much we've improved since last year (I don't believe we beat any of the top clubs last year in the PL). Thoughts opinions?

I love beer! What's your favorite style of beer? Mine's IPA's.
I don't see too much rotation coming about. Pep likes to work with a smaller squad just like Mou. But I do think that will help the youngsters since it looks like Pep prefers using youngsters rather than fringe-seniors (think Nasri Yaya etc.)

Tomorrow will be big. Manchester derby will be bigger :D

I love beer and whiskey. Wheated ones are my favorite for both. Hefeweizens and Old Wellers!

Yup, welcome to City Bravo! His a quality keeper and amid the situation with Harty, no many are to pleasant in seeing him join us but his a beast in his own right.

I would recommended people to watch the Inside City or training vids on the teams youtube channel. They constantly update new materiel and its interesting to watch Pep's training exercises compared to MP. The squad looks really happy and determined to prove themselves. Also looks like Gundogan, Kompany and Sane are back in training.

With rotation and youth players. Pep gave the fringe/bench players a chance against Steau and well it was pretty bad. Simply not a good enough performance from them. I'm not surprised Pep will stick with a small squad of players he trusts to deliver. Also, I think Pep really likes players like Angelino, Maffeo and Tosin but these guys are still quite young and have a long way to go before playing more games. The only youth player his taken on is Iheanacho.

Tomi, our club CEO Soriano said these things in his book, which contrasts your sentence 'Pep likes to work with a smaller squad just like Mou'
--------------------------------------------------------------

“Guardiola always prefers working with smaller groups with stable hierarchies and not a lot of internal competition.

“Guardiola chooses to work with 14 or 15 players that have his total confidence. The end result is a very stable playing style and a changing room that doesn’t harbour much conflict.

“Mourinho’s strategy is different. Whether in Chelsea, Inter Milan or Real Madrid, Mourinho works with bigger groups, with many well known and talented players competing for the line-up.

“Mourinho assumes the complex task of managing his players’ egos in exchange for having that much talent at his disposal."

I am hoping he uses the second even third string on games that do not matter to give the main squad some rest and the youngsters some game time to prove themselves.
^ Hopefully, I really want to see more of Tosin, Maffeo, A. Garcia, Manu Garica, Angelino and possibly Denayer.

define small? 23 man squad seems the norm, thats what mou works with.

"Guardiola always prefers working with smaller groups with stable hierarchies and not a lot of internal competition"

what does that mean? he has had some of the best players ever at his disposal, and at bayern and barca squads dont get stronger or more competitive. those are his only two managerial jobs so i wonder what soriano is referring to.
@ManCityBlue - we all saw that Mourinho worked with the same 11 at Chelsea. He hardly rotated. Mourinho likes the same folks fitting into his way of playing. Only injures or serious lack of form changed the 11

Soriano is talking nonsense in general IMO. He is trying to talk about the contrast in man management but I think he is off on the squad sizes.
