Kolarov is leaving too. Didn't see this one, how many freaking players is Pep letting go?
Just a practice game and it was interesting because utd played a strong line up, they certainly look good no doubt. As for us, I think Ederson will be a special signing, I know the media will milk the hell out of a mistake he made but he was making great saves in the game that will not be brought up. I really wish we had 2 other Fernandinho's, he really can play in so many roles and still outshine some of our players who are suppose to be experts in their roles. Also, Stones really worried for this boy. His really gotta cut out the mistakes in his game and his slow decision making, literally almost cost us a 3rd goal because he couldn't decide weather to bring the ball down to control it or head it away. Made this awkward clearance. He needs someone who can teach him how to defend and I don't know if Pep is the man for that. The man of the match for us was Phil Foden. The kid is only 17 years old and has been with us since the U9 team, a REAL homegrown player and he really outstanding. What some of our young players lack is decison making and Foden did not struggle, could pick out a pass no matter were the player was and was pulling off some nice dribbles against Herrera and Pogba. No fear in this kid eyes, I knew he was highly rated but I didn't think he was that good.

On to Real Madrid.
United friend getting hyped over nothing. United played the starting 11 basically. City played a lot of youngsters. Diaz and Foden should get a chance, Foden especially.

98% pass accuracy 25 chances created 88 forward passes 14 Key passes
Mendy 44.5 mil bid rejected, ouch.
Yup, they believe his worth more than Walker. Neither one of them are worth 50mil.

Now seems like were going to also pull out of the Bertrand deal as the Saints want 30mil, the most we offered was 25mil. Either Pep will have to throw out his plan of getting top players in every position or watch or spending rise to 400mil by the end of the window. This is bloody fuc*** ridiculous.
+2
Agreed! 44.5 mil is a great price for mendy, so greedy these clubs are something else.
Can't say I blame them when you spend that much on the likes of Walker and Stones. You can expect to be milked big time going forward
+2
^ True.
I think at some point, City has to draw the line somewhere. Our transfers in the future are only going to get harder and harder. If we keep bending over for clubs on players that aren't even half the price, were setting ourselves up for a difficult future. The market is sh*t, we all know that but the market is not short on LBs, so why are we only pursing those names? As much as I rate Mendy, theirs no way we should pay over 50mil for a 23 year old LB.
^ You cant draw the line when Pep is your manager and wants to go all-out to create a team to win PL. Also not after releasing all 5 player even before buying anyone
+1
Well you bought walker for 50 so why would Monaco let go of an arguably better defender for less?
You can have Keiran Gibbs for a mere £35m.

Proven in the PL and Champions League, England international, only 27yrs old.

And you really are robbing us blind at such a low price!
Looks like were signing Danilo from Real Madrid for 30mil. Why? I mean his average at best but nothing more. I don't get it, I guess it karma for making fun of Chelsea for almost signing him. Now his with us.

Pep has stated were after 3-4 more players. No surprise, we need a CB and a DM because Yaya is old as hell and Otamendi is probably going to be sold.
Danilo is close to Manchester City! Agreement with Real Madrid for €30M + €5M add ons, 5 years contract for the RB. 🇧🇷 #transfers #MCFC
Congrats you guys!

bad buy he not good...

^Might be or not, a player can improve, with the right guidance.
He was quite a talent before joining RM. Maybe Pep thinks he know how to use Danilo and get him back in form.
Maybe, lets see how he does. I do hope he proves me and everyone else wrong.
danilo is not average, he is a very talented attacking fullback. not great at defending though.
Our pre-season squad:

Keepers: Ederson, Grimshaw, Muric. Defenders: Walker, Stones, Kompany, Otamendi, Kolarov, Denayer, Mangala, Adarabioyo. Midfield: Zinchenko, Nasri, Roberts, Sterling, Gundogan, De Bruyne, D. Silva, Foden, Diaz, Fernandinho, Toure, Sane. Forwards: Jesus, Aguero Yaya

Interesting to see Nasri, Deanyer and Mangala in our pre-season squad, thought they would leave for sure. Mangala showed some improvement with Valencia last season, I hope he surprises us because we need another CB.

Notable absentees:

Otamendi: I know I heard stories that he could leave us to Real Madrid but now I do believe it will happen. He wasn't training with City at all since the start.

Delph, Fernando: Delph is gone for sure. I can count on my hand the number of games his played for us. Fernando should be sold for decent price but no surprise his being sold.

Bernardo Silva/Bravo: Confederations Cup break for both.
Why would we want Otamendi? He's not RM quality. We already have enough CB's.
^Lol not RM quality, funny but true.
Otamendi is a good defender but just not really cut out to handle Pep's defending style unless he has a good partner. His a physical player that often makes sliding tackles and Pep is not a fan on that. With how exposed our defense is because of our style, I can't blame Otamendi or Stones for struggling, we don't really play a balance side. You'd have to have a really high IQ like Puyol or Kompany to lead the defense.

As for why I think his going to leave to Madrid. He hasn't reproted to training, his agent Jorge Mendes who's done deals with Madrid before has been offering Otamendi to Madrid for a while now. With Pepe gone, Madrid could make the move to sign him up and I know Pep won't stop him from leaving.
Welcome Alexis Sanchez!... Just kidding, lol, we can dream though.
We need another CB not Sanchez. Once we wrap up Mendy and Bertrand, we need someone else tbh Rudiger would have been perfect for us considering he can play RB and CB and play in a back 3 but Chelsea got him. Atm, we don't have a another RB and we still need CB imo.

Pre-season starts in a few days! Can't wait to see City play!
Welcome Kyle Walker!

Alright, Mendy and Bertrand next please!
+1
This really feels weird because at some point Micah was arguably better than Walker and others.
+1
Micah was better than any of the upcoming young FBs during his time. Injuries ruined him and shot his confidence down, he was never really able to regain it. Would still resign him for the banter!
I just hope we don't regret buying walker, you know that sting when a player doesn't perform as well as when he was at his old club.

Hopefully pep can get the best from him.

+1
I'm sure he will preform, he just needs to improve his delivery but other than that his a beast with strength and speed. From his interview, he sounds motivated and ready to learn. I know at first I was against the price but not many quality RBs in the market.
+1
Welcome to Manchester!!

Kyle Walker:
2011/12: PFA Young POTY
2011/12 PFA Team of the Year
2016/17: PFA Team of the Year

Walker is the best right back in the league and just because he moved from Spurs to City doesn't make him overrated as the haters want to make us believe.
Not too long ago our only english player of any consequence was Gareth Barry and joe hart. Now we have Sterling Stones and Walker. Two guys who are england stars of the future and one guy whos been a stalwart in the best defense in the league for two years straight.
I love the fact that when Walker was at Spurs, along with Rose, they were considered the best FB duo in the PL. Now he comes to us, people are like " He ain't worth the money", or my favorite " His 27 and finished".
+1
Embrace the love moe lol.
Sounds like sour grapes to me
He is a very good signing I'm surprised you got him for 50m considering there's aren't many other options levy could have asked for 10m more

If you look at the videos on top I won't even give a rats ass to what clowns like nicol think. He shouldn't be a pundit in all honesty
I remember him saying Zlatan was finished and he would not score even 10 goals for man Utd. Shows how he nicol uses his ass to think instead of his brain
^ True that!

Walker will be educated under Pep, Pep has forced many of our long serving player to change their style and play his way, no reason to why he won't help Walker improve and play his way. Just nonsense coming from people.
Walker is a fine signing, but who would ever question Zlatan, unless they have a dead brain condition or something
i mean not really, he's going to add pace and threat but he's not so clever in the final third, and also doesnt have a goo delivery. I dont think he fits tbh. but he at least offers you some width.
Mendy deal is around the corner. He will be immense for us. Not completely convinced about the Walker deal yet but he is a good RB, not sure if he fits Pep's ideology.
Not the best crosser but does whip in a good cross that leads to a goal from time to time. The benefit about it is that his a tank that will go up and down the pitch, for 90 minutes and that's what we need. Not to mention his pace! Defensively his good but I think Pep will force him to hustle more in defense now that his with us. Either way, weather were playing with a RB or RWB, he can start. He can improve on the ball, our own players had to adjust and improve their game in Pep's system. I think Walker can too.
Still waiting at the corner.
Looking forward to:

Mendy is a really good crosser, which should be refreshing as KDB is the only player good crossing the ball in our team. People will talk about Mendy and Walker's price but when these two help us win the title and push for the UCl title, price won't mean sh*t.
We got Kolarov thats even better than KDB at crossing we also got our magician David Silva we got plenty that can cross....it was more a matter of our fullbacks ageing problem
Prices don't mean anything lol. I want good, scary attacking and rollicking football. See them shivers in the opposition. Bring the aura of Mancini (and Pellegrini's first year) back to the Etihad

Rollicking lol
