The derby win has us completely forgetting about the UCL draw for R16. We got Basel. Not the toughest team in the group but we can't let our guard down.
City is looking like a team it should have been. An elite World Beater. Always been my second choice team after Barcelona. Hopefully City gets to lift Champions Trophy this time around.
Talking Points from Derby Day:

Can we talk about Kyle walker rifling a pass at ederson within the box with a players sprinting at our Kepper and the boy just opens up his body and passes the ball in one smooth motion? That was insane.

Our passing was pretty inconsistent. We got in some decent positions but i didnt think we penetrated very effectively.

Jesus woulda looked so good if he finished that chance after sitting little Rojo down.

Thought Mou mind screwed himself for this match. got his tactics all wrong even when city were playing with only two established defenders united still looked average.

Oh Also the 7 minutes of game management in the corner had me physically laughing. Well done not trying to shield but just kick it off them was brilliant.
For a seconds i thought walker lost his mind. Ederson a beast. And that sequence of throws in extra time was funny.
Ederson is the calmest mofo on the pitch no joke.

As for the match, I didn't think this was the best City side we've seen. Maybe its because we were missing Aguero up front, who would have caused lots of trouble and we could have used Stones at the back to help us play from the back as he does so well. Utd apart from Lukaku and their wingers at times where playing deep, so deep KDB and Silva had all the time and the space when we were on the ball. Shocking really.

The time wasting was the funniest sh*t I've seen in a while.
City vs Basel in champions league draw...sweet!!!
You guys could actually win it since PSG or Real will be out
José Mourinho in post-match fracas over Manchester City’s ‘noisy’ celebrations

https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2017/dec/11/jose-mourinho-fracas-manchester-city?__twitter_impression=true

Wow. Such a loser.

Mourninho always cries, he's a sore mourner.
Hey tomi what do you think about our defense? I still think we need at least one or two really good cbs and bring in maffeo at Rb and another really good Lb like Mendy unless Delph turns into a world class Lb if we are to really challenge clubs like Real, Bayern etc. For some reason I don't rate Danilo defensively, maybe Pep sees someting I don't.

I think Kompany will need to hang up his boots soon as sad as it will be to see and I'm unsure if Mangala can improve enough to bring us over into the elite status of your Real, Barca, Bayern etc, I believe Otamendi and Stones can.

I personally believe we need more quality at the back, if we are to go even further.
Delph almost cost you guys the win. He seems to misjudge the flight of the ball twice. Walker tends to make silly challenges. Otamendi solid this season.
Delph is a big hearted makeshift. Mangala is not a defender we can use for the long term. Good guy, but does not fit into the squad.

I think we will need another ball playing defender next year (or two). Kompany is done. I can see him hanging up his boots end of season.

I am very concerned about who we use to replace Silva and Dinho in the coming year or two. They are not getting younger and nobody is close enough to play their roles in the squad. Gundogan and B Silva have ways to go.
B Silva has potential, the way he plays for Portugal makes me feel optimistic. He just needs time. Replacing Silva will never be easy, his arguably one of the best if not the best player to put on a City shirt. Fernandinho is more than just a DM, no wonder Pep love him so much. A long with KDB, this is the best MF trio in the PL imo.

As for future transfers. In January we need a LB and CB. I don't care if we get Evans and Bertrand. Just get some players with experience because Pep knows this season we have every chance of wining the title and go far in UCl.

I think B.Silva will improve, next season he will be better as he should be adapted to the league.
Gundogan just came back from a long injury spell so he'll get back to his best soon.

I believe we should have gotten Isco when we could to replace Silva, I don't think Real will let him go now, as for Dhino I have no idea who we could get to replace him and we still need a backup cdm as Toure will most likely hang up his boots or go to another club soon.
Congrats on the win. Mou is always looking for someone/something to blame a loss on. Yall played for a win and you got it.

"Manchester City after 16 PL games:

11 points gap on United
14 points gap on Chelsea
16 points gap on Liverpool
17 points gap on Arsenal
18 points gap on Spurs"

Not bad, not bad. Let's keep this up!!:)
Love the fact that we won’t but would want us to trash them next time. Something about this victory that seems amiss. Hopefully we’ll get more clinical before we meet em next.

Otamendi is becoming our Koemann
Ur record at OT is frightening, I believe its like WWDLWWW

Something like that.
^^cuz it's our second home LOL...
what was so bad about me complementing David de Gea on the United forum Tomikato? you seem to show bias towards Untied fans, when they troll you call it "good banter" this is my last post on this forum! now i can see why this forum is not active cos ppl aren't allowed to post. Cheers Everyone!
