After the Dortmund game my thoughts:

Mahrez is definitely going to give Sterling some tough competition.

Foden and Diaz have a long way to go. It could just be pre-season but during the game Foden struggled and Diaz was simply doing too much. Diaz should accept the offer to go on loan to Girona to help him develop and get game time. It did wonders for Maffeo, he should follow suit. His got the quality but needs games.

Eric Garcia is a quality young CB. I like what I saw from him, good passing as well. Douglas Luiz has a lot of potential and needs game time, along with Dele Bashiru who both should go on loan. Zinchenko struggled but I want to keep him at City. He will get better as the team progresses in pre-season.

Btw, would rather keep Joe Hart as our n2 than Claudio Bravo but Joe Hart despite his struggles deserves much more.
It will be more like Sterling will be giving Mahrez a tough competition ... I don't think Pep signed Mahrez (for more than Sterling) to put him on the bench...plus Sterling does miss a lot of sitters, something Mahrez might convert into goals. Every time Sterling misses a sitter Pep goes mad so I am pretty sure he didn't pay 60 mil for a player to keep him on the bench.

I would take Bravo over a goalkeeper that has been leaking goals like 3-4 per game everywhere he went West Ham Torino etc...those teams don't even wanna extend his loan spell and you want him over a goalkeeper that singlehandedly won you the League Cup with his penalty saves heroics ? SMH
^ That was Bravo's career highlight at City and nothing else. Bravo was even worse during his first season with us, I don't think I've ever seen a Gk struggle to make a save. Caballero took his place until the end of the season and then we signed Ederson. His had his bright moments but if Hart is bad, Bravo ain't far behind.

Sooooo who are we going to sign?????????????????

Ditched Fred, Utd got him. Thought we had Jorginho, Chelsea signed him. Now what? We f**** up on two players now we might end up with Mario Lemina.
You already got mahrez isnt that enough lol. He is a former EPL player of the season. He looks so quality for a bang average Leicester, imagine the damage he can do when surrounded by KDB, Aguero, Silva, Bernardo, Gugnodan etc.
^ Our main objective was to sign another CDM. If you haven't noticed the only real CDM we had last season was Fernandinho. Only god knows how the man is capable of playing so many games without an injury.

That position is so critical to the way we play under Pep, a quality CDM is crucial and at 33 Fernandinho needs a future replacement, which is why we spend so many months trying to get Jorginho and we failed.
Gundogan played in that position quite a few games so maybe Pep is thinking of using him instead of signing another CDM
^ Maybe, although his not exactly a player that will help much defensively. Fernandinho does more than just play the role of director in our attacking football, his does so much in defense as well. Will Gundogan be able to do that in crucial games?
The goal this season is to do even better in UCL next season and win the PL title back to back.
Gundogan would be good going forward but defensively not as good as Ferna, I don't even think Gundogan has the energy level to match the workrate ferna puts in.
Lmao kovacic voted himself on a insta poll that he should go to City
Not the ideal CDM where looking for but his top quality none the less. Would love to have him join us.
Would like tolisso tbh. I really want to sign kovacic but think he would need to play with more freedom to be creative
According to Sky Sports, Madrid wants 80 mil pounds and City dont value him that high.
Where not going to spend 80mil on him. No way.

lol Pep would never sign a player thats not good on the ball
This is why you shouldn’t deal with Italians. I guess Serri and kovacic will be the targets again while I adore kovacic serri is probably better fit due to dinho age
CDM/Distributor is the most important position for us. I think we messed up a bit in this regard. I keep saying - we have everyone but no replacement for Fernandinho. This could be the difference between success and failure next season.

Need a second Ferna and I can't think of too many folks who can play that role.
Fulham is interested in signing Seri. City could have spend the Mahrez money in CDM. Mahrez is a good player, but I dont think he will replace Sane or Sterling or both Silva. City could have given some players from youth academy a chance as a backup.
+3
Just saw a small vid of him at a London airport. Looks like his headed to Chelsea. Looks like he choose to join Chelsea instead of joining us. Big blow for us indeed considering we've been after him for some time now.

We've handled this really badly. Imo, first we wanted Fred but didn't want to pay more than 50mil for him, so Utd got him for 53 mil. So we went after Jorginho but we dragged this deal on for so long that Chelsea came in and offered more money which Napoli took. Unbelievable.

I honestly don't know any real possible replacements. The window shuts early August so Pep and the Txiki might be rushed to find someone else.
Wrong Post.
Surprised where keeping Claudio Bravo. I felt like it was right for both parties to go their separate ways but seems like his staying. His a great shot stopper but would rather let him leave and bring in a new keeper. Thought Gunn would be our future but seems like his going to Southampton.

Other than that, can't wait to see our boys in pre-season. I like the WC but PL football is everything.

So we are getting Mahrez and Pep said that El Mago will be playing with reduced time this year. This makes me think that it is Bernardo's time to step up in El Mago's role. He did it very well when playing for Portugal in the last game - although it turned out to be a bit too late. Here's our outlook for next year:

--Sane----------------Aguero/Jesus------------Sterling/Mahrez--
--------Bernardo/El Mago-------De Bruyne/Gundogan-------------
---------------------Fernandinho/Jorginho----------------------
Mendy/Delph-----Stones/Otamendi----Kompany/Laporte------Walker/Danilo
-------------------------------Edersen/Bravo--------------------------

I think we need Jorginho. Last I heard Chelsea could be usurping us in that deal.
Mahrez is going to be a done deal, which is great. AS for Jorginho I would be surprised if he joined Chelsea and Sarri. I know Chelsea was after Vecino but the chance to work with Pep and play UCL, it would be painful if he didn't considering he fits the mold of the type of player we need. Although that could mean where back on for Kovacic.

As for Silva, yeah it looks like his best days will soon be behind him. God, I dreaded this nightmare for years:(
I don't know how many games B.Silva has played in the middle but for City and Portugal his always on the right side of the MF. Pep should test him in pre-season but hopefully we alos having Gundogan fresh and ready to alternate. This is going to be tough, I hope Bernardo Silva is ready. It's not going to be easy filling in for El Mago.
Zinchenko to the Wolves for 16mil.

Never really got to see the kid in an attacking role tbh. Really talented youngster who deserves and good character to have in the City team.
i hope we put in a buy black clause
We’re wheelin and dealin. I love it. Excited for him. Hoped patty Roberts gets a move too
How the fugg are wolves able to afford a 16m player? Jfc...
VAR has destroyed Germany..haha
lolol MAN CITY HAVE THE BEST SQUAD OF COURSE THEY WON. Yah best squad filled with international bench players lol. Aguero, bench, Jesus will probably be benched, Gündogan bench, walker and sterling are England’s “worst players”. I thought these were galaticos everyone? The best players in this the world. Yet they’re making no impact for their team on the field or not even playing. Really makes the accomplishment more impressive.
(Jokes.... but seriously this makes it hard for people to just say we bought the best players)
People confuse spending big money with buying the best players in the world. Just because we spend big money on players doesn't mean we are buying the best players, were simply willing to pay more than others.

For example, Kyle Walker, Mendy and Ederson. When people heard we wanted him, they said we were ridiculous for wanting to spend so much on an "average" players. Right by the end of the season, the narrative changed to, "City only win because they sign the best", makes me laugh everytime.
Last post 6 days ago? where is everyone? this place is dying

Mahrez wants a loyalty bonus pay from Leicester for winning the title in 2016 ... apparently this is the only obstacle before his move...if i were Pep i would think twice before signing a player thats so greedy for money
WC and not many transfers considering we already have a good team and we know Jorginho will come and most likely a winger. Not much to talk about really I think. Plus its not like we had many active members to begin with lol.

I'm more interested on what the price was for Mahrez. This loyalty fee is not our issue and frankly don't understand why his trying to make things so difficult but just want this drama to end with Leicester.
