The amount of games we have played is taking its toll on the squad. No wonder KdB said he feels like sh*t after playing so many games.
I thought this was the most uninspired performance both from us and wigan. I mean a man up at home on a sunday league field and I still had not feeling of concern. And then city pull a city and one moment of stupidity from walker costs us a competition. This is why city fans still dont feel comfortable with the gap in the EPL. Weve witnessed this comedy before.
and next is carabao finals vs Arsenal!!!!
Lol whole season basically wrapping up In a week, crazy that in one week the quad and treble could be dashed in same week
Bad luck. We did not play so badly with 10 men to be honest. Also, given the way we play, the odd goal was always on the cards. Going down to 10 men in a cup game is almost always a killer blow.

Aguero again, I feel, was really bad. He did not latch onto several balls which a world class forward would IMO.
+1
I agree. Aguero had several chances but this guy is a shadow of what he used to be.
Really disappointing. We could have won but it just didn't happen.

Now we better be really motivated for the Arsenal game. No excuses. We need to step up, also would be nice to see Gabriel back real soon.
I though you were amazing, even when playing in 10, but I enjoyed you losing :) KdB is right btw, I think this for a very long time that english clubs sux vs europe mostly because the lack of the winter break. Plus English clubs have bonus league cup aka mickey mouse cup.

You can say the usual s**t, like they are paid a lot and blah blah, but the rest that other clubs from different leagues have is massive.
cant believe what just happened... out of FA
Pogba not even named on the bench for United there is obviously something seriously wrong between him and Mourinho and Mou comes out and says its all "lies" i wish we could play them right about now while they are having all these problems, i bet we could smash them 6 - 1 again haha!
The media is making a meal of it, trying to create a rift between Jose and Pogba. I doubt their actually is even is one.
I don't think the media is making a rift about it, in fact lately the media has been right about transfer rumours and other stuff. Pogba's agent publicly said that Pogba is not happy that Sanchez is making double his wages, so he wants to double his wages and when Pogba was substituted out you could tell by his facial expression he wasn't happy plus he doesn't like playing as a defensive mid everyone knows this every pundit also talked about it. So there is obviously a rift between Jose and Pogba hence why he left him out for todays game. The whole he's "ill" thing is made up to cover up the rift. I think after todays 2 - 0 result Jose will realize even more that he is better off without Pogba cos he likes to go up a lot and that doesn't fit Jose's plans.

Pogba likes to play football, Jose is the opposite he prefers anti-football cos that frustrates opponents and he ends up winning games that way. The 2 are not a match for sure.
+2
If Pogba and Jose are having a rift then why have they decided to collectively agree to tell the press that Pogba was ill? You make little sense man.
Thought he was injured?
I wonder if that hypocrite Gary Neville will call Conte and Mourinho a "joke" as well since they had only 6 players on bench for their FA cup games??
We had 7 substitutes on the bench.

Did some quick research and chelsea used 7 as well.

The battle at the back will be very interesting. Kompany is now fit, we have Otamendi who has been a rock all season for us. Stones who has improved so much and Laporte who's insanely talented. Can't believe his only 23 years old, the same as Stones but his ability on the ball is something.

Lol, for once we have solid and quality CB options!
Kompany and otamendi havnt been very assured at the back. Not sure they have a great understanding together.
Otamendi is one of a kind - El General. Stones/Laporte are sort of similar but with different strong feet which is good. I think Kompany might suffer a bit next year but I am not complaining! Good problem to have.

We need good fullback cover to be honest. If Walker is injured we are in trouble. Danilo is good but not the level we need our fullbacks to be. Delph is great to cover for Mendy and he has proven that.
^ Pep is happy with what he has at the LB position in Zinchenko and Delph. The RB position is what's troubling. Wish we had the option to recall Maffeo but for Danilo I think time is up. When two MFs are playing make shift LB and your on the bench, you know your in trouble.

As for Kompany. I hope he never leaves. Good character in the locker room and should join the coaching staff if he retires in the next few seasons. But for now, a fit Kompany is welcome any time.
Not to mention Pablo maffeo has a real chance of takin backup right back and maybe Angelino can prove a worthwhile left back
Your team is on some serious fire. Safe to say, you can win all four competitions this season.
Nothing is guarantee just yet. Fa cup is in early days, where still in the thick of UCl, plenty of big teams left. Arsenal are capable of surprising people from time to time.

Although as a fan, I would dream of nothing more than seeing City lift all of them. All doubters would be silenced.
I wonder if anybody will doubt city's ability with the current squad under Pep. The team is playing genius football. I mean actual football and not diving around to get pen's.
+4
Why dive when you can just score and be done with it :) No need to waste time on such theatrics.

Sane out- Bernardo Silva in

David Silva out- Gundogan in

We really are blessed with the quality we have. Gundogan had a great game with 2 goals. Glad to see the rotation at the back. Kompany making his first start in UCl after a two year absence, happy for him. Now we have two fresh CBs in Laporte and Stones ready for the weekend. Delph is back, along with Sane coming off the bench. Aguero killing it and really picking up form as of now, his been inconsistent from time to time but his undroppable atm.
+1
Fully agree, I think now we can almost say we have depth in the squad, we have youngsters we can rely on plus our first team players. Would love to see Pep bring in Maffeo and we should be good in most departments. I'd like Danilo to stay, I like his character. I also hope Kompany can remain fit as it would give the team an even more boost as well as himself.
Jesus Aguero scores 4 goals including a bar down showstopper and KDB lays 3 pearls for assists and the headlines and "talking points" put out by the media focus on Salah and Kane. If either of those two scored 4 goals the Guardian might just declare Salah or Kane a God. Agueros one of a very select few current players who has scored more than 3 goals multiple times.
One thing we gotta admit Mancini did have an eye for great potentials, besides all the players he signed he also wanted to sign Hazard really badly but the club at that time decided not to do it and he was 20 i think back then and we can see Hazard has become world class today. None of Mancini's signings were flops, most of them stayed at the club for 7+ years. Even today Mancini's signings like Aguero Silva are pulling the strings for the team.
^ Exactly, Mancini had an eye for talent and brought in players like Aguero, Silva, Yaya etc. We've had plenty of hits and misses but without him but the core of our team that is still active today was because of him. Pellegrini and Pep would have been left with a tougher job had Mancini not been here.

Its kind of bizarre at the time I supported his sacking because we were playing with the same line up, too many draws, terrible UCl performances and too many bad overall performances from individuals. Now you look at it, he never really got the players he wanted, we were still new in UCl football and we finished 2nd in the second. Sure we lost to Wigan but I think he deserved another season. The expectations on him where so high, tough ending for him. The style of football we played was not only beautiful but we played with balls, we had strong players in the MF and we were a physical tough squad to play against. Mancini played a more balanced type of football between attack and defense.
Yeah, he lost to Wigan because he put Joe Hart in goal instead of Pantilimon who played very well the entire FA cup competition, that was his big mistake and we recently found out that Hart is a pretty loose goalkeeper. That header by Wigan player could have been saved easily it was directed at Hart directly but he somehow let it in. Had it been Panti he would have saved it. And also the board didn't back him up when he wanted to sign Van Persie, he said in his press conference that the club missed him by just a few pounds. But i think the new directors Txiki and Ferrano were looking to sack Mancini from the day they arrived at the club because Mancini had too much say in who to sign etc.

And then came Pellegrini in his Lamborghini with signings like NILito, Bony, Navas... i don't think any of his signings are still at the club?

Mark Hughes made some great signings too Zabaleta, Kompany and for cheap too, i think each one of them he signed for 8 mil pounds.

If Pep ever left, Mancini would be the only man I would want the club to bring back for a second spell.
