I want to see more positive energy here guys
It's far from over . We have only 3 points less from Liverpool
And 1 from Chelsea if we win our games not bad at all.
Now the pressure it's on them . Something tells me that Liverpool
Will not win 14 games in a row . It's too much of a task for any team .
I remember when we finished 3:3 with Sunderland 2 years ago
And most people thought was over but it wasn't
We became champions thanks to that point .
I really hope it's going to turn that way again this season
It's not easy to be Man City fan
It's always drama with them , sometimes it's way too much that I can't take lol
Maybe I am getting old and my hart it's going to stop one day .

Its tough you know, all season we've had ups and downs but we've always some how been in control and now that control is fading away and its hit us fans hard because we didn't have a good season we want the league title just as much as any other team.

Although I'm all for positive attitude! Lets try to win the rest of our games left of the season. Who really knows what can happen.

The only scenario where we get back into the title race is:

Chelsea lose or draw against Sunderland tomorrow. And then defeat Liverpool at Anfield.

Chelsea would have to give us a huge break and we would have to pip the title again on Goal Differential. Man City | Liverpool @ 86 PTs +/- GD. And Chelsea for 3rd with 84/85 PTs

I'm not gonna hold my breathe though as it's trending that we aren't going to pick up the maximum points available.

no looking back for Chelsea. none

^ loll, we will see how it goes bro.

Jose Mourinho will surely love playing mind games with you, lol !
So I've heard news that Dzeko is set to be offered a new contract. To me personally, I think that's great news. He has been consistent and without him, we wouldn't have scored many goals in the absence of Aguero.

What do you guys think? Keep the Diamond or is it time for him to move on?
I say keep him, I wasn't too sure before because of all the sure goals he missed but he has proven with the right set up and constant playing time he can get goals, and he is a great back-up striker to have, I would rather have him than go out and get another striker who isn't capable of handling the Epl.

Any news on what's next for guidetti?
All in all I think he's done well this season when called upon. Question is will be happy to play second fiddle to an inform aguerro\negredo??
His been awful the first half of the season compared to Negredo and Aguero but second half of the season it was all him. Dzeko deserves a new contract for City because his stepped up for us when he needed to.
I hope rekik gets a chance next season,If not I don't see the purpose of our academy, and it would be a real shame for the club to not use it, and continue spending needlessly when talent is at the door knocking.
Rekik is going to be an amazing CB for City and Netherlands one day but I don't think Rekik is ready for City next season and I'd rather send him off on loan to PSV for another season rather then bring him back and have him on the bench all season.

Look at the positive side, before joining PSV Rekik was never played top division football before and now at PSV not only is he getting minutes but also he got a call from the Netherlands national team against France last month. I mean that's a huge step up and we need to let him continue to grow. Rekik is like Courtois, the more he plays and the more season he has under his belt the better he gets. Despite being on loan this season to PSV and the positive that's been happening I don't think his ready for City just yet. If I was Pelle I would send him on loan for another season.

I see your point, but he rekik said in an interview, if we sell lescott and richards he wants a chance.

I don't see why we can't give him a chance, look at sterling, he is the same age as rekik and he is performing so well at Liverpool, who is to say rekik couldn't form an invincible partnership with kompany.

Its interesting but I really don't know how it would play out because it would come down to:

#1. Kompany/Nastasic/Demichelis/X
or
#2. Kompany/Nastasic/Demichelis/Rekik
It's easier to field young attackers than defenders though as young players tend to be less consistent and that is a more important attribute in defence.
^True, but you have to take chances sometimes, if you can give demichelis a chance after all his blunders you can give rekik a chance.

I hope we sell demi, he's too old, we need fresh blood.
Best paid team in sports and collected 5 points out of 12 in recent 4 games(Southhampton, Arsenal, Liverpool, Sunderland) speaks all.

Just my opinion, MP is not suitable manager for league competition(He wants his style and it does not get result enough to win title after 38 games in 9 months), he is a manager for knock out competition. We're not there up to the standard to win CL so MP will deliver some domestic knock out trophies.

And there could be UEFA ban to buy us players, if that happens it will be disaster in our defence

I have feeling that we may still loose 3-5 points on the road. I hope and wish I will be wrong.
He will learn that defending is equally as important as attacking, he has to if he wants league success and to keep his job.

There are some games you have to win by digging deep to fight and win ugly to have a chance at winning title, you can't play flashy football every single game, some teams will set up for that and restrict you and there will always be a dip in form and that's where the title is won, if you can win games that you are second best when you are not playing well then you are on your way to greatness.
No, what he need to do is to play with more dynamic tactic according to his opponent weakness. Rather than just one style for all.

One more season for him. To fast to make a call
Pelle knows our defense is weak. Yes he focuses on the attacking football style bringing in Navas, Negredo, Jovetic and a Fernandinho to give Yaya that freedom in the attack but he wanted to sign Mangala and Fernando from Porto as a defensive reinforcements on deadline day in the winter window but that fell apart.

@Mylica, I agree. We need to me more dynamic tactically because we come in with one style and when that doesn't work we don't have a plan B. We need to be able to break down our opponents due to their weakness.

Overall, I think Pelle is the man for the job. Obviously this is his first season in the PL so I mean his still in the learning curve off the end. At the least now he knows that the PL is and what to expect. Things can change very, very quickly for any title challenger at the end of the season because the title so near and every contender wants it.

Btw, I hope this is true. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/15/manchester-city-uefa-financial-fair-play-rules

I read about City being one the 76 clubs being under investigation by Uefa but I'm hoping we get out of this mess. Although our deficit in 12-13 was 51.6mil much better compared to the two seasons before were our deficit was 150mil. I hope Uefa looks into that and lets us go this time but really we need to stop using more then we make at this point. This summer our top priority should be a CB. We could try to keep Rodwell if his willing to stay or else promote an academy player to take his place that's not injury prone. Also we need a RB replacement for Richards.
MP first season in the most competitive season so far that I've seen and you guys are just 3 points behind Liverpool if you win the game in hand. Calm down -.- life ain't bad in your half of Manchester.
i gotta say when Jovetic came on the game changed completely! he caused quite a bit of trouble to sunderland defenders
Yes .. it was a welcome change
Wow who would have thought. We went from a week from Liverpool vs City for the title and who's going to gain control but now us drawing against Sunderland just gave Chelsea a huge title push and an opportunity for them to win. Now the title is going towards either Chelsea or Liverpool.

MP, I'm lost for words. Starts out of form Negredo and Silva not even on the bench for a game that means a lot for our chance of a title hope. Even without Silva we should beat Sunderland with the quality we have. I just don't know what to say other then disappointing in how things turned out for us, its a shame.
I really think its over for us, Chelsea are 1 point ahead even if we win the game in hand. We should of beat Arsenal and draw against Liverpool, but this result has made it more clear to me. We're going to have to depend on Liverpool and Chelsea to drop points from now on.
I wonder how Dzeko feels. He's been playing so well and then suddenly when Aguero is back, he's being replaced by Negredo. God I feel for him man.

You must admit, their goals were lucky. It sucks so badly that Nasri missed that last chance, there would be very different discussions happening on the forum had it gone in.

Nonetheless, onto the next game. We can just win the rest of our games and hope Lady Luck will be on our side.
TBH, I think both team could have been winner. Borini messed up that big chance in the first half and their keeper shamefully let that Nasri's shot went in. And that Nasri's shot (one after goal) had gone in...he really should have buried it.
We all have to factor in also that MP is new to the EPL, and it takes a certain tactical approach to win the EPL, for him to do this in his first season would have been a great achievement but let's not fool ourselves it's not that easy, yes we have talented players, their work rate also factors in the possibility for MP to win the league in his first season, but like I said before it also takes a certain tactical approach to win the league, hopefully MP can recognise this approach, I really don't want to see him get sacked.

Pelle has a certain balance to the way he manages the team. But his selection for the team has been ridiculous this late to the season, like why the fck Didn't Navas start today we needed his speed. Nasri ran out of ideas, no one looked like they wanted to score today.
+2
A draw at home against the bottom table team. Earlier in the season it would have been 6-0
Dude everyone knows Sunderland is City's Kryptonite.
+2
Even superman finds some way to deal with kryptonite and save the day, it's pity we can't do the same, maybe we are not so super as everyone thinks we are.
+1
So you guys are fighting for the title and rest Silva when he clearly was a magician in the previous match.. MP and Wenger pissing me off. At least now Liverpool got a higher chance of winning the league.
