Looks like Enes Unal will be our first signing of this transfer window. He has safely arrived in Manchester.

Our first game of the season is on Monday 10th August, I miss all week day games. It's really hard to miss live broadcast of first game of the season.
Our pursuit of Sterling Pogba and debuyne if true makes city look so dumb. I feel like city management see us city fans as chelsea fans who just like the big number and player we all know. Id say city fans are on average more educated and knowledgable of football than chelsea fans.
I'd like our club to follow somewhat of Wenger's football tradition. He build a core English and academy products in their first team, then he went off signing big players to further strengthen the team. That's what we need, forget the title even, I don't care, I would throw away a PL title to see a team with many youth/eds products taking part.

Well, it's your forum, but that description of us Chelsea fans tho.

We've bought players like Azpi and Courtois for peanuts, Matic for £17m, Fabregas for £27m. Oscar wasn't nearly as famous until we got him.
You had Abramavich long before those players just saying.
Also I'm from the U.S. and trust me when I say that If someone says they are a fan of an EPL team its either United Chelsea or Liverpool and they usually know as much about their teams as I know about West Brom.
Good news for us

UEFA lift Man City's FFP spending, wages and squad restrictions

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-transfers-uefa-ruling-9581008
But doesn't it feel good to be on the path to debt free and being run like a proper responsible club??? :D would be a shame to undo all that good work and confirm you couldn't care less about financial stability.
@SIF - yes, very much.

If you notice more and more fans are calling for more academy youth and more practical signings. However, looks like the club mgmt. is not completely on board with that yet. The whole philosophy of sustainability will make sense once we stop buying senselessly (i.e. Pogba and Sterling)

The uproar against FFP is a different topic from being debt free though. We can be debt free with a different cash flow schedule. FFP is Platini forcing his crap on us on his terms - hampering our plans in the first place. Blatant violations of fair play in the first place.

I think in the long run this might definitely help City has we are forced to think about sustainability more seriously - but the fact that it was not done on our own terms is what hurts. Someone from outside telling you how to spend your own money is sort of ridiculous.
HAHA I am such a benevolent messenger bearing good news! ^^
Karim Rekik has joined French side Olympique de Marseille on a permanent deal.

So guys, how do you rate City's greatest players in the last 5 years since 2010? Here are my top 3

1) David Silva
2) Sergio Aguero
3) Joe Hart

Notable mentions: Yaya Toure, Kompany, Zabaleta
1) Aguero
2) Kompany
3) Yaya

I know Sliva and Hart have been great...But IMO Aguero , Kompany and Yaya make the real difference as individuals.

You guys forgot Super Mario :D

Note: His assist to Aguero was a crucial part of us winning the title since 44 years ago at the time.

Sergio
Silva
Yaya
Kompany
Hart
Mario had some good times. Maybe I'm biased.
Aguero
Silva
Zabman
Toure,
Aguero
Silva

Toure played great role in winning first trophy(FA cup) after such a long time. We built all our team based on him in the middle. May be Augero and Silva will be ahead of him if they do great in few years.

Kompany is overrated among our high profile(Toure, Silva, Aguero, Tevez) players.
Good Read
Is Yaya Toure Man City's greatest-ever player after five years of splendour and silliness?

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/yaya-toure-man-citys-greatest-ever-9572827
Found this in city website

http://mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2015/July/Five-years-of-Yaya-Toure-at-MCFC-in-quotes-Lampard-Rijkaard-Okocha-Mata-Mancini-Kanu-Drogba/1435765597
1. Aguero
2. Toure
3. Kompany

Best attacker, best Midfielders and best Defender. They might have had their off and on again based on form but they have been leaders and game changers nonetheless.
Hey Tomi the FFP ban of PSG is lifted so I think it might be a matter of time yours is as well. I can be a messenger of such good news too haha ^^
Lol buddy I will chase you down if the news is false :D

From the looks of it they are going to announce City's fate in the next 2-3 weeks about how they will deal with them. Platini is a biased asshole. I am backing City to launch a major legal battle against that twat.
We have a long way to go.
If I were responsible for transfers,

In - Kevin De bruyne or Isco, Sterling at a resonable price, utalised in the RM/RW area or other, fabinho or Clyne, kurzawa or desiglio, Verane if he were available, keep Rekik. Maybe Pogba at a decent inflated price.

Out - Demichelis, Kolorov, Sagna.
I would also pair Kompany with Rekik & Verane with Mangala, I believe good partnerships would be formed there. Fabinho can also play in midfield with fernadinho or fernando, might form a good partnership there as well.
@Silva - our transfer committee is deluded

Instead of going for the good ones like Clyne, Shneiderlin, Fabinho, Kovacic we have been talking of Sterlin/Bruyne/Pogba - all of whom are probably not going to happen.

In the meanwhile United, Arsenal, Chelsea are all strengthening. If things go this way this could be our relatively worst window in the last few years.

Now we are stuck with nothing. Zilch (not the Mod).

Silver I have to admit i completely disagree with you. It sounds like you're basically doing what city management are already doing. I didn't hear a single Homegrown player and you want to pay ridiculous prices for these GOOD players. We don't need varane because we have Denayer. You neglected to get rid of Dzeko and Nasri.
Everyone on your list is over 20 mil.
I have made my opinions known about who we should sign but why we haven't just gone and met Delphs release clause is beyond me.
+1
I know, you guys are all right about getting in more home grown players, but let's be realistic we have money and they the ones in charge wants success quickly, they don't trust our youth players unfortunately, I was just stating the players we would need in order to maybe achieve a higher rate of success in all competitions.

Dzeko is a great back up striker to have and I believe Nasri can step back up, he was injured most of last season I believe, he just needs to keep his mouth shut keep his head down and play.
I Think dzeko is a stoke level striker at best
@Silva there is no reasonable price for Sterling, and even if there was that price can buy a decent player with better attitude.

No De Sciglio, he's Milan academy material and I would like to see it stay that way, plus between injury and lack of confidence he's been no good for the past 2 years. There's a lack of good players at LB but for me he's best at RB
Our transfer committe are a bunch of idiots. Why do you think any other club aren't going after Pogba or De Buryne with the exception of a few? They know how expensive and how long it can drag out, with the possibility of ending up with nothing. We should have gone for Arda Turan, Delph, Clyne and a LB like Willems, De Sciglio or Baba Rahman. We should have kept Rekik, bring Deanayer, Lopes and Iheanacho and we would have been find. We have a good squad, we just need a few tweaks here and there. Sell Kolarov, Sagna and Dzeko than were done. Easy and simple but yet here we are.
