Wow haven't seen an elastico as good as that since the Ronaldinho days.
my neck hurts just watching
@SIF - also about your theory that a player's ratings rise when they join big clubs - Bony is up to 83 from 81 already after joining City lol. This elastico was on the 23rd - it may have helped.
How good we're at the moment?
- 1 goal from 54 attempts in the last three games.
Let's hope we don't get hammered by Chelsea.

*Brogue kick* :)
We played our best football of this season so far in December when Augero, Kompany, Kolarov, Dzeko, Jovetic etc. were out. So we really need some humble players from EDS.

I am very disappointed with Kompany, he just complains with referee, lacks pace, makes mistakes, doesn't encourage teammates etc. If MP choose players based on merit he should not be in the starting eleven, Demichelis and Mangala should be in the starting eleven. Boyota played better than him today.

It seems MP may leave City but he will not leave Navas from the starting eleven.
you have to consider he may be getting rushed back to be fit and in form for the big league games and your CL games.

might not be at his best but he needs games and he's still your best defender despite form.
+1
^ I agree, Kompany was rushed back into the eleven at the Arsenal game then flew out to Dubai right afterwards and flew back to City for an FA Cup game. Not really the best of weeks for a player trying to get back to a normal routine form injury and is flying all over the place. What he needed was rest not to be out and about in Dubai. His going to need a few more games under his belt before we can get the best out of him but for now I have to give him the benefit of the doubt and tbh we rely heavily on him and the pressure isn't easy.

Also as much as I'd like to see EDS players, none of them are PL ready. Even Pozo struggled to insert himself into the team so throwing them out there isn't going to help against PL opposition. They have to be slowly brought into the fold.Although I wanted to see EDS players playing today like Pozo (ST), Facey (FB), Iheanacho (ST), Bossaerts (CB), Barker (MF) or Ambrose (FW) get a shot today considering many of our first team players are coming back from Dubai. I don't even care if we had lost, at least throw on youngsters who would bring on some energy and would be buzzing at the opportunity to start.

I am not talking about performance of Kompany only for last week, whole season he is playing worse than Demichalis maybe even worse or equal to Mangala.
Regarding EDS player, give them the chance to play in their best position. Pozo plays as secondary striker in attacking midfield position in EDS, let him play there and then we will come to know is he ready or not for PL?
I do agree that Kompany hasn't been his best this season but when it matters he steps up. I expect him to show up against Chelsea like he did the last time around and keep Costa at bay. Demichelis has been our unsung hero with his consistency in the back-line.

On Pozo I can see him playing alongside or behind a big striker, like Dzeko or Bony. He can handle the ball a lot better then Dzeko but he needs to bulk up if he expects to keep possession of the ball. His small stature helps him drift into space and if we can get a big guy next to him that can pull defenders with him Pozo can be a real threat to have.
So finally Milner gets a start in CM. Not super impressive, but I think he will do well given few more chances to cement into that role. What do you guys think? I liked him there. He used to rule that space at Villa.

i like milner in any position. just hope city dont let him go like nastasic
Me too don't want to see Milner leaving too
Arsenal all over again, only this time we managed a bar full of shots and scored none.
Its pretty disappointing how bad we've been playing as a squad lately but I'm hoping we can get out of this funk soon and start with beating Chelsea. The timing was pretty bad which doesn't make much sense to me to why we had to play in that friendly at all considering we had an important game coming up and I wanted us to last way longer in the fa cup after our disappointing display in the capital one cup.
I agree, who ever planned the friendly with a mini vacation got it all wrong, apparently they probably thought boro was a pushover team so we didn't need time to prepare for them.
Not sure what is going wrong. The only missing puzzle is creativity from CM (which is Yaya). Otherwise we had a full strength team (barring Deadly Boyata)

I personally have been hawking the idea that we are better off without Yaya but I've been proven completely wrong now.

We need a strong #9 to complement Aguero (Bony/Dzeko) and a creative outlet from the midfield (Yaya). Right now all we do is push the ball wide and give to Jesus 'soy perdido' Navas.
In my opinion, our current problem is Navas in the starting eleven more than not having Yaya on the pitch. When Navas plays everyone passes ball to him in wider area then he either misses/loses or crosses blindly without any end product.

We need Nasri instead of Navas which combines well with Silva and hold ball well in the final third which allows few of our players(mainly strikers) to run behind opposition defender from where we get goals.
^ I agree. I guess the players pass to Navas thinking he can outrun players and get on the counter but he can't deliver at all. Nasri on the other hand is a ball player, who can making good passes inside or outside the 18 and hold up play and get himself or others into good goalscoring positions. At first I was happy to see Navas getting more minutes because early in the season he did look very good but his been out of it for a long time now and I don't know MP starts him constantly. That's kind of irritates me about MP, even if certain players end up screwing up match after match, he will stick with them no matter what.

@Tomi, that's what I've been thinking as well. I thought we'd be even better without Yaya. I really was under the illusion Fernandinho and Fernando would do better but they lack that creativity that Yaya posses. I was wondering for the past few games what the hell is wrong with our team and its the CM position. We need a creative CM who can link up play to the attack from the middle of the park and push up forward taking long shots from distance. In fact its got me worried what were going to when and if we end up selling Yaya. Who's going to replace him? I can't really imagine many footballer in the world apart from Pogba who can replace Yaya. Although Isco fits the bill for me, he lacks strength but he makes up for it with speed and his defensive and offensive play has sky rocked this season for RM.
If Real get Pogba, I hope they sell Isco to us. Yaya won't last beyond another year or two, and he is a defensive liability that is only going to get worse with his age.
MP tried to get Isco earlier, and Isco was all praises for MP, but he preferred RM.
I really hope Pelle takes the hint and benches some players. The complacency is tangible and the innovation has disappeared in this team. its become really hard to watch with or without yaya. This problem has been all season and the players need a wake up call.
+1
omg this is atrocious.
Wondering what Pelle will have to say
+1
I can't believe how bad we are without Toure. We had a full squad on as well.
+2
how bad are we without toure? Its this bad
