Liverpool are now bottom of the net spend table in the EPL after selling Luis Alberto...
A very disappointing transfer window all in all.........when things go south it will be the same old excuses ...
I don't think its as disappointing transfer window as you think, but it could be better. Mane, Klavan, Karius and Matip are good additions that address gaps and Grujic is a very good prospect.

However, a better window could have addressed DM, LB & RB(backup) and not purchasing Wijnaldum.

The previous windows, I couldn't really understand what the transfer team was trying to do, however, at least now we are moving forward and addressing the gaps that all the fans can quite clearly see.

There are some players that I still don't fully understand why we bought them:
-Markovic
-Luis Alberto
-Benteke
-Wijnaldum

I feel we are only disappointed if we compare our TW to other teams.

Value for money: 7/10
Selling: 8/10
Addressing Gaps: 6.8/10 (LB still a very gaping issue)
Ambition shown by Board: 5/10 (we have lowest net spend in the EPL)

I think if there is any success it is mainly down to Klopp.
mane is the only standout on your list.....stevie wonder can see we need a dm,lb,rb cover.....everyone can see it .. every one says it ... this window has been disappointing..klavan was a free... and as for grujic , have we turned into arsenal now that we are signing prospects?
Tom Werner talks about spending 217m on a guy to throw a base ball

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nyi84a4fYI

Wake the hell up kopies, Wake the hell up. We are been used for the red sox! He says they needed a star on the pitch.

Where is our f*****g star, LB, DM!
*tinfoil hat intensifies*

I love how your mind works, revolve around you all the time.

Guys what are ye talking about? They Just spent 217m on a baseball player and you call me Tinfoil. How obvious does it have to be? I just don't get how ye guys don't get it though there will be a time you will.
Man just f**k off please.

The Red Sox are the third most valuable MLB team in 2015 worth $2.1 billion with a $370 million revenue and a $49.2 million operating income.
...................
Liverpool FC’s value has jumped by 42% to almost $1bn (£644m) with the club now ranked the eighth most valuable football club in the world in this year’s Forbes list.
Revenue: $390 M (£298 M)
Operating Income2: $95 M (£73M)
So Liverpool and the Red Sox have the same owners... So what? Completely different sport on completely different countries.
That 217m is split over several seasons I believe. That is around 31 million a year including wages I think. None of that money needs to come from Liverpool either considering what W0lf has posted above.

The cold hard facts is that they could spend more, but, rather then spending more, we have to be more efficient in our spending. We can't keep spending stupid money on players like Wijnaldum, Markovic and Luis Alberto without better analysis on how they fit into our system. However, Werner has made us very sustainable and has set us up for the future very well.
I just wonder...besides just being optimistic for the sake of it...why would Liverpool be successful in PL. We got a great coach, true. But then, City and United also got great coaches. City, United and Chelsea all have more world-class players than we do. They also have better budgets. What I was secretly hoping was that Klopp would attract word-class players just because he is Klopp...Well, that turned out to be very far from the truth. No world-class player wants to play for Liverpool.

Can anyone share an opinion? If we are to win the league, where is it going to come from, because I frankly cannot see it.

Klopp doesn't buy the best players, he creates them. Much like the purchase of Grujic, I can see him bringing alot more players in the same mould like dahoud etc it's frustrating, but in the long term it's mabey smarter?

I want instant success like everyone else but I'm forced into accepting the reality of what's going on. I know I will be bashed for it but for long parts of my time being a liverpool fan I have never seen real success or change at liverpool. That's the difference between someone like me and someone who was supporting the club when it was at its highest, or atleast much much better then it is now.

I am hugely discouraged already by every thing that's happening outside of our club, teams buying the right players and getting managers that will be brave in the market while we are playing a more riskier, more patient game. I just hope Klopp is a f*****g miracle, a god send. Makes all these players into world class players and that we don't need to compete with the big teams in buying finished products.

End of the day, one man can not do the job alone and that's the scary reality. Reaching the final last season was great, but if we strengthened in January we could have won it and even got top 4. I'm not sure if owners are making it difficult for Klopp or he is simply refusing to pay. What I do know is, for alot of these players, this will be the last season to impress. Otherwise they will definitely be sold and Klopp will then look to make like for like changes, for example Henderson sold for £20mill and we buy a player in the same price region or a little bit more.

Anyways keep the faith, YNWA

Bravo you have it almost 100%. Money talks is the answer.
Do you believe that we can improve on our players? I do
No CL will cut down the list but money will open another
No ambition is the problem.

Getting annoyed with Klopp now. 1st we loan out Flanno when we have no decent cover for RB and not a reliable LB. Now he wants to loan out Sakho, our best CB ( some of u may disagree but idk) when our defense can't keep a clean sheet. I am starting to question his logic.
+3
Sakho is not getting loaned he is getting removed of the wage bill and club same as Sturridge. The pr is so transparent those days. You don't loan out a senior international player like he is a underage player. He went from fan favorite to most understanding a extremely stupid decision by the club and you wonder why i call Liverpool the spin doctors those days. Fans are to easy to buy the s**t.

Here's the truth klopp doesn't like Sakho or Sturridge and Liverpool like to have low wages. So a magic loan for sakho and really pushing Sturridge to leave the club is the aim to get rid of both. PC be next after them mark my words.

It is true what 1 guy said ''Judge our transfer window at the end because it always starts with hope then quickly dies''

Imo Liverpool are doing a lot of really strange moves.
Hope it pays of or we are in deep s**t.
Is Klopp pushing out Sturridge? What makes you say that?

Hadee318

Look at it this way since they first met there were clashing.
There were many write ups about it and if klopp was learning him a lesson why is it still going on? There is something not right with them and it can be seen with Danny.
Lallana ran 12.5km last match... damn!
what a machine
How many Goals or Assists?
Just becouse a player doesn't get goals or assist in a game don't mean he is shite, he creates as many key chances as our other attackers.
I just see him as a runner and if goals and assists ain't important for his type then why is most pros saying that he needs more?
He didn't get many in the past but under Klopp he looks a great player. He has only played three games in this new position, and the playstyle is pretty much perfect for him as he has everything you need to be a perfect Klopp player, except the pace and mabey 10-15 goals a season which I hope he can get or atleast get close to. I like lallana a lot, i know alot of old school fans don't rate him as highly.
Can't question his workrate and desire, but needs to add some more goals to his game. We just overall need more goals from our midfield players.
some players need some time, I was impressed with Lallana when he played against us. He's definitely a player that works really hard :)
You need a player on the field like this to motivate other players to work hard and play hard.
+1
we dont need running from a CAM\AW we need goals and assists ...like arsenal get from OZIL,sanchez...like chelsea get from Willian\hazard, like city get from silva like spurs get from ericksen
Didn't fsg say we will spend the most money this window. The teams we are trying to compete for top 4 - arsenal, chelsea, city and united will all have spent close to 100€ each. Some have broken 150€

Spurs didnt spend much because they already had a good team.

Net spend Arsenal - approx 108€
Net spend united - appox 179€
Net spend chelsea - approx 45€ but they are expected to sign some players taking that close to 100€
Net spend city - holy s**t!!! get ready for this one close to 193€

what about us the team who finished 8th last season well we are on our way to make a profit on player sales!!! What ambition. We are going to use midfielder to play left back because we want flexibility lmao.

I agree getting rid of deadwood is necessary when was the last time we signed a world class top player. Everyone we sign these days is either from a midtable club or a kid and the us fans expect us to be title challenging team lol.

Sure under klopp players will work their socks off but this not bundesliga where you only have bayern Munich to worry about. Hard work can only take you so far. Most of the times you gotta put your money where you mouth is.

Why couldnt we sign xhaka??? what he loves london that much??? We couldnt because we didnt want to match or exceed the wage structure that arsenal offered. Same with any other top player they care about money. Look at pogba he is playing at united with no champions league so is mkhitarayan and zlatan you think they bleed red and have a love for manchester united lmao.

Under fsg i only see us being a midtable club unless klopp pulls a miracle out of his arse.

it is frustrating and i cant wait for the day when one of y'all on here tells me "i told you so" about how good this current squad is
Its frustrating. Can't compete financially with Utd, Chelsea, City who all spend HUGE amounts of money to sign top players.

Unfortunately in this modern day of football you HAVE to spend to have some success. This squad is quite young (average age) and who on the team has experience of winning trophies?

That's why this whole not signing a LB + DM is pissing me off. We've made a PROFIT net spend here... I appreciate the new stand and everything but what use is it if the players in there can't perform to high levels?
+1
Liverpool fans were put under a spell by fsg and some others also. Most of the ex Liverpool legends don't have a good thing to say about them. Everything that Shankly said about Liverpool not been about money but for the people is gone by many years of yanks using our brand to make money while limiting funds to improving the football team. 1 day LFCMJT i will be the guy that will say i told you so and it won't be about the team but about the ownership. They only only care about Profits and will do whatever it takes to get them. If they had the same desire about winning thinks we would of been back up there already. They are running into there 6TH/7TH year now guys and only delight us fans got was 1 Carling cup. It's a Disgrace guys and the more money we get the less we spend.
+1
Spurs didn't spend much because they have a tight budget. Probably something to do with the new stadium they are building. They certainly did try for a few players if you believe dimarzio, and did sign few like wanyama and Jansen or w/e.

PS I'm sure your new stand costs a pretty penny too.
Squad expected for this season.

GK - Mignolet, Karius, Manninger
CB - Lovren, Matip, Klavan, Lucas
RB - Clyne, Gomez, Trent Alexander
LB - Milner, Moreno
CDM - Can, Stewart
CM - Hendo, Lallana, Gini, Grujic, Brannagan
Wingers/CAM - Mane, Ojp, Coutinho
CF/ST - Firmino, Sturridge, Origi, Ings

Lots of flexibility players can fill multiple positions if there are injuries.

Lucas can play cdm/cb
Milner can play RB, LB, CDM, CM, CAM, Wings
Lallana can play out wide or centrally
etc etc you get the idea.

We have the quantity just hope we have the quality

Transfer update

Sakho still at anfield no deal done.
Balotelli no deal done
Markovic no deal done.
Seems Rafa is trying to bring him to Newcastle (Marko)
Apparently Sakho has been told to prove his professionalism and form by going on loan & that he won't play a minute if he stayed at lfc.
Thoughts?
Sakho pissed off Klopp that bad? Can it be that
+1
Sakho is still one of our best center-backs. I really hope Klopp will give him chances to prove his "professionalism".
