Whats happening at Arsenal FML! They look really slick and genuine contenders! This is what a good coach can do..Emery as it turns out was just the guy they needed
+3
Attack = title contenders
Defence = title pretenders

we still give away far too many chances at the back for me to consider us a real shot at the league.

But the goals we are scoring are pretty damn sexy so at least we're being entertained!
+4
Arsenal always had a good team they just needed a fresh face.
+2
I will be in London for the Arsenal Liverpool game in two weeks. If our front trio wake the F up from the autumn sleep it could be a really entertaining game.

Anyway it will be the second time to see liverpool live from comunity shield way back in 2006 with Gerrard, Alonso, Riise, Carrager and Crouchy in the team.

Buzzing for this one!
+6
Arsenal are the same as Chelsea, not title contendors but great underdogs, one lacks offense and the other lacks defense
+5
TBH even we lack offence atm - Kinda like Chelsea but then they have one guy who can literally win them a game all on his own
So do u tho. Salah, mane and firmino can win you a game single handedly
Salah is a game winner and has more than proved it last season. My list of each top 6's mvp's:

Liverpool - Salah
Chelsea - Hazard
United - Pogba
City - KDB
Arsenal - Ozil
Spurs - Kane
Agree on all except Man U would be De Gea, and yes he hasn't been great of late, but he has been their absolute savior over the past few seasons. Then for Arsenal I'm not sure they've had one...But they are on fire now and Ozil was absolutely immense against Leicester yesterday. What a performance. So he could certainly turn out to be if he continues that.
+1
True. De Gea has been saving their bacon for as long as I can remember. Probably should have up him there instead.
Sorry but Pogba winner/game changer ? I would say United actually dont have one right now
Bazinga is right. De Gea is our best player but even he isn't making the kind of saves that he made last season, not that it's exactly his fault. I'd leave us blank.
What do you guys think of snatching up Morata for dirt cheap from Chelsea? They can't use him properly.

I reckon Klopp can work his magic and make a beast out of him. Seems to have the characteristics to be a good CF.
+1
Not sure, we got Bobby. If anything I'd like one of Lacazette or Auba :P We lack that mobility and pace in the center..
Morata isn't fit for the league, he should go back to Spain or Italy
.
Apparently mane fit to play in champs league
+2
Imagine coming here to see people moaning lmao, we are joint first with city, pipe down
+3
Technically you are second, if the league finished now we'd win :p, I love the competition though in all honesty, keep it up, should be a spectacular finish if it's this close come may.

Yea guys forget we didn't hit form until Xmas last year. We were very poor at the start of last season.
Im all good, 3 points is all that matters. When Chelsea gets 3 dirty point people are envious on how they keep getting points. When we get 3 dirty points folks are like "we're not good enough, not clinical, don't score many goals etc etc". People need to learn to be happy with 3 points. If the league were to be decided on GD, then City would win it all day long. We are good but we are not as prolific and do not have a super duper crazy expensive squad as theirs..
+1
^ So true. Points 99.9% of the time wins the league, Not goals.

In the 2009 season, We had more goals and less conceded than Utd and still, they won the league by 2 points.
+2
So essentially it means we are doing better but not enough.
We got kicked out of Mickey mouse cup, lost against Napoli and barely managed to win against a team who are still looking for first win of the season. Hell yes I am worried about. Moreover it feels like Klopp is still trying to figure out his best 11.
All this proves is our increased organization and defensive stats. Show me chance creation, possession stats, pass completion, etc. thats the bread and butter. All this is is topical evidence to cover up the glaring issues.

Sure we didn't have a hot start last year, but i was extremely hopeful because we lost playing extremely well so results would eventually follow. Also injuries played a major role.

My only problem is us conceding the first goal. The lack of fluidity on display at times is concerning is all.
+1
^ In a lot of ways though I was getting sick of us having to be at our best to get points and because of this when we dropped form we were in trouble.

Now we ain't in great form and we are getting many points and when we hit form or should I say our front 3 hit form we be a real fire.
+2
You can't play all games of the season on top gear, they're only human. Relax..
Here's a fact to make ye all happy.

This time last season we were 9th in the league and 12 pts of City.

We playing s**t, but we come far lol
+4
I wonder how salah was doing at this point last season. I remember Lots of folks saying his finishing is sh.t at the beginning last year.
+2
He is only 2 goals off
Remember for years we seen Utd being s**t and still, they did well. Maybe that is us and we are not used to it. For years with many managers, we have played great football and many systems yet we did f**k all. This time we don't look great yet this system got us through the hardest 8 game period and still, we are on top and still in the qualifier area in CL with 2 of the easiest games to come in CL and League while City has spurs and Chelsea has dropped points at UTD.

Sergio maybe being s**t is the new great 🤣
+5
whatever is happening, i'm loving this defense.
+6
It's always a plus when you're team is not performing but getting results. You guys should be happy because once you hit form, it will be hard to stop you guys.
+2
Right, I have watched the game back to make sure I can back up what I have been thinking for a while after putting a lot of our games together since the end of last year and a lot of research it might just hit home a few truths about Klopp and the way he forms his system around a group of three and will change the system when that 3 is broken and start a new system to share the knowledge of the current 3.

Point 1:

We are not going to be like we were last year even though we have a better team now because we aren't a 'Gegenpressing' team anymore.

Reason:

Last year we were a 'Gegenpressing' team and the master behind that style that even Klopp said on many occasions was Zeljko Buvac

Here's one of the many articles about Buvac and Gegenpressing
https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/who-zeljko-buvac-meet-jurgen-6586239

Buvac is gone and so is the 'Gegenpressing' forcing the change of system by Klopp because the 3 is broken! Only Klopp and Peter is left out of the 3. On to the new system!

Point 2:

Klopp has brought Pep Lijnders back as his no.2 to form the new system around Lijnders style which is more Possession based and why the team at times look like if it is the first time they played together.

Reason:

Klopp for a while was still trying to figure out ways to develop the team as a whole instead of just being a team build around a crazy attack and you only have to look at the big teams that normally win the prem or at least fight for it to realize that Possession based teams have a better chance. Klopp notices this and realized that 'Gegenpressing' is nice on the eye but it is two forms of an attack, 1 to win the ball and other to aggressive attack with the ball. Both limit and expose the defensive when caught out! And with Klopp ready to move in a different direction Buvac wasn't needed anymore.

This new group of 3 has the team working on Possession play and you just have to look at our training Vids on LFC.TV with Lijnders and compare to the training we used to have when Buvac was there to see it is chalk and Cheese.

This is completely new to the team and as Rodgers once said learning a new style while trying together points in the prem is like trying to fix a plane while it is moving.

Positive News:

Even though it is a little pain in the arse to watch atm while the team finds their feet in this new system we are still fixing the plane while it is moving which got to stand for something and shows how good our team is against all odds.

Maybe this might ease some tension and help to understand what is going on.

PS: This system will really come together in time and if we had a link up type player it would ease the journey.

+1
I don't think we are done with gegen press but we will be playing a much less intense version of it. This new system does not seem to be working, maybe fabinho and kieta are key but so far I have not seen any evidence to say its an improvement on our attacking play, but drastically better in defending. The buvac thing is wierd, he is one man so I don't know how much it has on the change of our play. If I remember correctly buvac left around the same time as ox getting injured. Which means it's either one of two things. Either liverpool decided buvac is now redundant and we moving to mad new style of football or that we are lacking that dynamic midfielder in coutinho/ox. I think I'm more entitled to believe its the second one becouse we had our heart set on fekir. Regardless of what Klopp may say, he is not happy with what he has and wants another attacking player. This is the missing link imo, kieta was bought to do the gini/hendo role as one of 8's. We all know kieta is amazing player but he is almost being instructed to play a different role to what we expected. Much like fabinho, we ain't going to see the best of them two until they know their role correctly. The lack of cohesion on midfield is weighing heavily on strikers, salah and mane are often left isolated, there is a missing link between attack and midfield and that Is our biggest problem right now

The thing about pep ljinders, I am really excited. When it does start working we might actually have a liverpool that can attack and defend like a world class team. Right now it's one or the other

Also as you said, there are positives to take.
We won the game today, I can be content with that for now
Mate watch the training and you'll see what I am saying. Klopp wouldn't of repeating about buvac and Gegenpressing for no reason. buvac was forever with Klopp and the moment buvac is not with klopp we see klopp using a new style for the first time and the new style has Lijnders wrote all over it. I am watching Lijnders a long time and know his methods. It's not working because it is the popular opposite to what the team are used to and will take time.
Hmm intresting stuff
Wow while we are struggling to even get shots on target- Arsenal are absolutely steam rolling teams- devastating attack by them. Scary to watch them and City
+1
Arsenal didn't even play this gameweek
+2
Klopp, The Commentators, and Tv presenters all saying it was a bad performance as I said below. We are very lucky the team we were playing today are a relegated team because anyone else and we were beaten today.

Glad about the 3 points though even if we never did training on the attack since the start of the season we still couldn't be that bad. It is a major problem and not a one that can be fixed easily because how can a form problem be fixed. It's not like the attackers are shite. It's like the mojo is gone and that ain't easy to fix.
+2
Maybe it would have been different with mane and firmino, we deffo did not control the game but it was not a bad performance. Defence was great just like it has been all season. Having a defence that wins you points is nothing bad, United been literally doing it for years. Of course I'm still hoping we find our second gear soon
+3
We were terrible today. They hit the post and missed two good chances. I really dont know what has happened. So difficult to explain. Can anyone explain how we have gone from almost the best attack in Europe to this in a matter of a few games? Because I cant
Change of system
Loss of coutinho
Loss of ox
Our forwards not being in form
Combination of all that
So how do those Liverpool fans that wanted Salah to miss this game due to injury feel now? where you all at?
+3
he had a s**t game to be honest
+2
He was very poor aside from the goal but you need that quality for the finish that you might not otherwise have had.
+1
Other than one person on here, I'm pretty sure everyone was upset he was injured but understood if he were to sit out it could give him some time to reset as well as other players opportunity to show their talents and give a case to be a starter especially in the next 3 games we have. I was happy he could start and figured Klopp might start him in these easier fixtures to give him some confidence. Yes he scored, but he still played several poor balls and wasn't at his best. But great finish, and we continue going.
+1
Salah to Liverpool is like Messi to Barcelona or Kane to Tottenham you simply play him every game regardless of his form or the opponent. Thats how they thrive. You bench him that will kill whatever is left of his confidence. When Kane goes on a dry spell he never gets benched by Pochetino he keeps playing him and eventually Kane starts banging goals again. You never rest your best player unless its a league cup or europa league game.

P S it was 2 Liverpool fans that posted Salah should be benched and quite a few other fans agreed with them. Salah made them all eat their words though.
+2
^Agree and Klopp knows it too that's why he doesn't drop him irrespective of his form. The quality is always there and we got 3 points coz of him. People are just upset that we are not winning games with 3-1 or 4-2 scorelines anymore.
+4
Careful mentioning salah in the same sentence as Messi, Barca fans are very sensitive about that 😂
+2
Ridiculous proposition. If we're going to wander into the realm of hypotheticals maybe we would have won 3-0 if he was on the bench. What does this serve other than to soothe your spite?
lol 2muchdopamine if Salah was on the bench you would have dropped 2 points and ended up with 0-0....doesn't take a genius to figure that out
