I was watching MOTD vs Palace with some friends and they made it look like there was a funeral on the clip before the game when they talked about us. They played a sad song, they showed players rejecting an interview etc...

Did you guys hear about the cricketer Phil Hughes that passed away today? Terrible, terrible tragedy. Absolutely gutted for his family.
+1
Yeah man, great loss! Damn, he was just 26 years old.. RIP..
+1
stay positive guys!

Some players became an instant hit.. some players take a longer time to adapt. Early goals doesn't guarantee a lasting success and slow start doesn't close the chance to be a legend (Think about Adebayor instant goal with City and.. Henry had a poor start with Arsenal).

Some of us were critical towards J. Henderson.. He was not our beloved Mid-field.. But look at him now, I think he is personally my favorite in there. Remember Lucas? About the same case.

I mean look at G. Bale, he was about to lose his spot and possibly disappear from the football as we know it before he ran through Maicon and became the man we all know. We will just have to accept that sometimes it takes awhile to get the gear running.

I'm not predicting the future is bright, I'm not capable of that.. but I believe that we are capable of showing more love towards our players. We are not Chelsea or City, they demand instant success or instant human sacrifice; but even Chelsea showed Torres some patience.. so can we..? Baloteli is working harder than he ever used to (If you notice).. with the season barely started.. 12 games and we are cracking up like the world is going to end.. YNWA! Support the men in red playing for the club we love!

I do remember when Bale wasn't even being selected for the bench at Spurs. Craziness. He was also being played as a LB for a while which also seemed nuts.
im not going to lie, until he did that to inter. i never though bale had that in his locker. what a great game he had that night.
I actually haven't given hope on Balo. I know he hasn't been what we expected, but he has been working harder. If the media criticism motivates him to do better then I think he will be a good player. Even more so if had Sturridge to help him.
In all my years of following football I've learned some important lessons when it comes to players fitting in. Balotelli does not fit at Liverpool. Just like Torres did not fit at Chelsea. If I were BR Balotelli would be the first player to go in January. We learned over an extended period of 3 1/2 years you can't force a leapord to change his spots, it has to happen early on and its instantly obvious or not, like Suarez and Sturridge for liverpool, like Costa for Chelsea.

A similar thing is going on at United with Falcao. His lack of playing time is down to injury but IMO Falcao does not fit at United. I honestly think its within a matter of days that you can tell if a player fits or not. It comes down to what you do to change a bad situation, the quicker the better. Torres was a god at Liverpool. He was never able to addapt at Chelsea, but we spent more than 3 years trying to force him to addapt. Mission failed...

The sooner Balotelli leaves the better you will be. His body language tells the story of what he feels, and its not good. He's already decided its ok to put in half efforts. That kind of attitude is poisonous.
+7
i don't think balotelli is the issue to be honest. he's got bags of [potential] talent but i think the issue is more our ability to work as a team this season. the ability to take the ball from attacking opposition or from a stand-still and get into attacking position. if you look at the last 3 or 4 games we've played, there are very few instances where we have more than 1 player in the opposition's box. our midfield isn't getting the ball to the forwards.

our defense has been abysmal all season which creates a kind of desperation in our attacks. no striker will thrive on that kind of attitude. last year we were playing with confidence and feeding in sturridge and suarez SO often.
+5
I never liked Balotelli and I still don't, but I never saw him working harder than right now. It's true that the team needs something else (and Rickie is not the answer) but the main difference to the examples you've made is that everybody is trying to fit Balo in the team. The players, the coach and even Balo - they all seem determined to make that happen.
If it will happen we cannot know, and you say it's best for Balo to leave - you might be right. But I believe he will not leave, and, hopefully, he will help us becoming a stronger club. One can hope :)
+1
Falcao had two assist and a crucial goal so far(winner vs Everton), why don't you think he fits in?

As for balotelly it's obvious he doesn't fit in, he's a static #9. But playing alongside another pacy striker will make him effective
+4
Disagree re: Balotelli honestable. Rickie Lambert links up with his teammates and makes the runs his teammates expect just fine. He's just not nearly talented enough. Its not a surprise the team plays better as a group when he's in though because he actually knows how to play with his teammates. Balotelli never being involved is not a team issue, its a Balotelli issue. This club has other problems but spending an inordinate amount of time trying to integrate Balotelli is not a good idea.

all my eyes can see is

@SIF. At Porto and Athletico Falcao played counter attacking football. At Monaco and United they both are trying to play a more dominating style. Falcao is best up front as a lone striker with few other attackers eating up space in the box. The way United play with three up front doesn't suit Falcao's lone prowess. He's not the focal point of United's attack, he's one of 3 options (with Rooney playing advanced he's one of 4).

This is not to say Falcao isn't one of the best in the world. Torres fell into that category 4-5 years ago. If United played a 4-2-3-1 they'd get the best out of Falcao. They've also got to wait for him to return to fitness. With the kind of injury he's gone through he was not properly rehabilitated and he'll take that much longer to assimilate to the team.

He might play better fully fit but a goal in 5 games is right down there with Torres and Bendtner. He hasn't dominated the game like he's done in the past. And not starting out with momentum can cause all kinds of confidence issues. Like I said, it only takes a couple of games to know what kind of product you're going to get from a player. Even though he's on loan and no tranfer fee has been paid, United are paying a crazy amount of money for a guy who's not doing what he was brought in to do.

Its just my opinion on the matter. Only in the last 5 years have transfer fees become so humungous that players have to make immediate impacts to be considered worth their fees. IMO Falcao has not been worth the money spent to get him.
At Atletico, Falcao plays partner with Costa half of the time so I don't buy in the fact he is best up front alone.

When they played 4231, he is the lone striker but there were always Costa, Adrian or Turan in the channels and none are out and out winger, they all like to come inside thus "eat up space" in the box like you said.

What I can agree on it's the fact Falcao has been less impressive after his injury but that got nothing to do with the way LVG plays out his formation. A consistent run of games will help him settle.
+1
Yes falcao works best as the target on the counter but he's a poacher so he will still get plenty of goals in a possession based team that creates chances. His fishing is usually top notch so all he needs is a steady supply.
+1
Lets be clear, all of the players mentioned have been some of the best in the world in their prime. Torres at Liverpool & Spain, Falcao at Athletico, Balotelli at City & Italy(Euro 2012) all were amazing. And I would say all played best with an attacking partner whether it was a no. 10 or a no.11. Its tough to say what would work best for Falcao at United. He's been injured and LVG has tried so many different formations its not a straight forward decision every week.

Falcao's United career is yet to be written. But it certainly hasn't started well. Drogba (Chelsea), Torres (Liverpool), Suarez (Liverpool) Aguero (City), RVP (United), Costa (Chelsea). All these guys had high transfer fees but hit the ground running because they fit into the already existing system not the other way around.
+2
None of those guys were coming back from no football since January. He needs to get fit before you can start judging him. He has yet to play 90 minutes and isn't even a guaranteed starter here because lvg hasn't found a system he wants to stick to yet. because he's on loan, lvg will use him as he likes.

And I'm pretty sure drogba didn't have a hot start at Chelsea.
+1
Drogba was an instant hit, though he got injured in November of his first season. He did lose some momentum but he came through in big games.
If we get anything but a win next game bye bye Rodgers. Those of u defending him need to open ur eyes and look at our sh!ty transfers and our sh!ty start thus season. We are out of basically out of CL and we have 13 points in EPL 12 games. Yes 13 points in 12 EPL games.
Man, you just can help it, can you...
+2
So hard to stay positive when Rogers has lost his magic

Ya sorry I can't

Good one ^ :)
Dont ludogrets qualify if they beat real madrid??
A total heart breaker that one.
Nope. Because if Basel draws or win against us they will make at least 7 points (same as Ludo if they win), but they have the advantage of direct matches. And if we win we make 7 points and we too have the advantage of direct matches against Ludo.
But they are still considering Europa League.
One night in anfield.....
+2
We rape Basel 8-0 and qualify to the knock-out stage of the Champions league.
If Mignolet starts the next game I'll be gutted!! The silly kick against Palace that gifted them the game and now that yesterday, not to mention numerous errors in the past months. BR has to drop him, give Jones a chance, whenever he is asked to play he does a decent job for us.
Also Kolo for Lovren against Stoke.

This thread wins the internet
A player don't make a team, but you guys are struggling without Suarez.
Don't think it's essentially saurez that is the difference. Difference is last season we had two pacey strikers. This season we have none.

Also the defence... Don't even want to get started on the defence
+1
When your 4th choice striker is starting in premier league and champions league games. There is something seriously wrong.

I dont like to make excuses but our #1 striker is out for the whole season. Our number 2 is struggling to score goals. This in addition to the fact we are losing games. Team morale and confidence is low.

Imagine rooney out for the whole season and van persie struggling to score.
+1
And our defense is the worst in the league like Sergio mentioned. It all starts with the keeper and finally people are waking up to that fact.
+1
lol this guy's quite the analyst
+1
And now finally Utd is ahead of us in the league there fans come out of hiding.
