if we are unable to offload balo boroni etc how are we going to register all our players since we are only allowed to like 23 players or something isn't it?
We can register some young players under reserves team, I guess that works. I have a feeling we will sell both Borini and Balo by the time the window shuts..clubs might be waiting to put in last minutes bids for cut price, since they know these players aren't in demand so they can play the waiting game..
+1
Haha funny DP that..
+3
8 home grown + 17 non-home grown. Most of our players over 21 are home grown Henderson, Lallana, Clyne, Milner, Joe Allen (Welsh players are counted), Ings, Flanagan, Sturridge and the rest we have more than enough room +17 more foreign players. Firmino, Coutinho, Can, Benteke, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Mignolet, Bogdan, Markovic, Texeira(might actually be homegrown since we took him under our wing below 18 y/o) (13). Then we have players under 21 , Gomez, Ibe, Rossiter, Kent, Ojo, Origi etc.. Flanagan is injured, Balotelli, Enrique and Borini have been frozen out of the squad regardless of whether they are available, so the ultimatum available to them is to find themselves a loan or face a season devoid of games regardless, but the last 3 spots seem to allow them to be available if required.
+1
interesting but joe allen is going to be registered 100% right?
Yep, he will be registered unless he is sold in the near future. We pretty much have more home grown players than required and we just fit the quota. You can see now why BR bought so many players last year, which was to complete the squad. I'm guessing if Balotelli, Borini and Enrique are sold, that means we are free to get positions for DM, striker and anything else we need.
+1
You know, if BR doesn't plan on playing Balo or Borini he doesn't have to register them...
Scared of the new season,we still don't have two solid cf, defense is crap and we only have one creative midfielder in coutinho because br won't give teixeira a chance , Man U buying world class players we aren't , bookies already saying or high will be fifth , no sturridge , Ibe still too raw often tries to do too much , and I can go on and on and on !!
2 solid cf= Benteke + Sturridge(When fit). If not then Ings and Origi could both fill in.
Defense is crap, that I agree with you :P
Creative mid=Coutinho+Lallana+Firminho plus the creativity of Ibe,Marko,Milner and Hendo

Also f**k Man U!

Be positive man! Enjoy the new season..we have a good squad and we may actually be the dark horses of the PL since no one is expecting anything from us. :)
+3
I don't think we are ready for the season. I wasn't convinced on any of our friendly matches. Sure we won most of it but not by the margin we should be winning them, and they are lower tier teams than what we will face in Premier League.
+4
I'm with you. Though to be honest, it's more of lack of being convinced by our manager, more than anything. I just have this nagging feeling that he's going to mismanage this squad and it will end up killing us.

You can't really base much off of pre season, though. Just the underlying lack of trust in BR has me in it's cold clutches.
+3
The both of you hit it on the head. Hardly convincing, but I'm not expecting much this season anyway. I'm very skeptical of Brenda. Not sure he's the right man.
+2
Every single pundit in football has us finishing outside the top four. I hope we prove em all wrong.
+1
Klopp and Ancelotti are both available, so if we lose more than 3 games by November, and we're not in top 4? He's out.
I just want to say that when BR is looking like he is on the way out, he always manages to pull some BS out the hat like the signing of Sturridge and Coutinho or somehow coming 2nd the season after a lackluster start in his first season, last season he even started playing 3 at the back, this season it could be Benteke.
+2
We bought Coutinho and Sturridge (who was only sold because of injury concerns, which we are reaping that reward) for a total of 20M. We spent 32.5M on Benteke; he better produce! Hardly comparable; and who really knows who pulled the trigger on Coutinho and Sturridge. Apparently the 3 at the back was an idea brought about by Lijnders.
So by your standards, Rodgers deserves all the criticism for last years flounders and none of the credit for the good done for our club in recent years? Rodgers is not half as bad as you think and the fact that he has bought Benteke shows that he is constantly evolving his style to fit the EPL. Some of you have already started to criticize him before the league has even started. I just think that most fans have been criticizing him because of the availability of managers like Klopp and trying to make the new season untenable for him. It's like you guys think BR doesn't know he has to perform this season, he isn't the sort of manager that needs to be slapped on the hand to get him motivated, you can see he puts enough pressure on himself to succeed. I just think its illogical to put him under so much pressure before the league has even started.
+2
"Judge me after 3 seasons" Brendan's own words. Well, what has he done that gives you such confidence in him? How should he still be given leeway of adapting "his style" to the PL? Whatever his style is?

"It's like you guys think BR doesn't know he has to perform this season". Yes, there in lies the problem that I am afriad of. He's shown he can't handle pressure.

Yes, I think Klopp would utilize our squad far better.
So many new signings, so much depth. Seems like FSG is tired of hearing us moan and groan. Up to Brendan ,the coaching staff and the players now. We have the quality so really all there needs to be is teamwork.
+4
Nah, man. There's just a lot of money coming into PL right now. They'd get crucified if they didn't put some decent money back in. We've also been selling our best players and got some big earners off the wage bill. We'll net spend around 20-30M again. Not super impressive if FSG are actually targeting trophies, or at least CL.
+2
Do you actually think we currently have the quality to consistently compete with Arsenal, United (possibly), or City? I'm not even going mention Chelsea. BR just can't beat Mourinho. Tottenham might pose us a serious threat.
+1
Yes Unbelievable, we have the quality to compete with ALL the teams in the prem now, and I truly believe we will. Maybe not this year, as it usually takes some time for players to accomodate, but surely in the following years.
+2
That's why I said "currently". You said we can now, not this year but in a few years?

Yes, all of us LFC supporters have been told our future is bright, I'm afraid for far too long. It's hard to talk about our future when we keep selling our best players. Yes, you can't force players to stay, but a lot of our best players have left because of LFC not being serious about winning things and investing enough to do so. That will continue to happen until we get serious. No way any top team would be happy to field our squad, especially our defense.
+2
All i know is since 2008 - 09 we have only made the champions league twice. In order for us to get top 4 every season we have beat out 1 of arsenal, city, united, chelsea. That is a tough ask if you sell your top players and rebuid every season.

Brendan has to go all in this season if he misses top 4 by even a whisker he is gone i m afraid. Thats why i think he will try and add 1 - 2 more.
+1
Benteke & Firmino, along with Coutinho and Lala, Adama, Ibe and Milner. DAMN too many talents, fvk Sterling, goodluck this season!
+7
Other teams are stronger still. Lets hope we put up a fight good luck to you as well just not against us :D

Hi Barca,
Thanks for giving Traore. We will make him a great player. On the subject of payment we would like to point out that we have history of giving you good players like Masch and Suarez. We have another great prospect in Balotelli whom we bought last summer for 16mils. But just for the sake of our friendship we're ready to send him to Camp Nou in return for Traore. Hpe you'll like him.
PS: Don't sell pedro to the Mancs.
Regards,
Liverpool
+5
and hell no.. if you think we gonna sell coutinho because u might give us traore
+2
Madder sooner than later it is going to happen..we are not in a position to hold on to him..we saw it already..enjoy till the time he is here.

My heart will not survive long, at this rate.
+3
Lol, no way are we even remotely interested in swapping Coutinho for Traore. Great talent, but Coutinho is like our own little Ronaldinho. I wouldn't swap Coutinho for anyone in the world bar Messi.
+1
i'll do it for suarez :P
