Man how good is Kevin De Bruyne? His assists this weekend were so precise.

Also anyone see that ridiculous back heel from Sakho in his own box towards the end of the game? Could have cost his team a precious 2 pts. I think ppl lamenting his departure need to keep those types of moments in their mind when remembering him so fondly.
+2
De Bruyne is probably the best and most complete playmaker in the EPL. Belgium is overloaded with quality players.
Well I don't think we played bad, in fact we defended well barring the sole chance that Lukaku got. However, United didn't really come to play attacking football, the formation looked more like Westbrom. However, that Salah shot should have been on target..so in all De Gea earned them another point..
+4
Emre Can missed a huge opportunity to score in the 2nd half.
Agree, but it was game a of few opportunities..remember united have played 6 or 7 of the bottom 9 teams in the first 8 games, and we have played 6 of the top 9 in the first 8. If we can improve our performance against lower league opponents..things would start to even out very soon. Let's judge after 10 games, like it's always said..
No one agreed with me when I said it was a lack of confidence but it seems clearer more and more now. The whole Coutinho think affected the team I'm sure of it. We ain't a bad side, we are actually a fantastic side. Its just taking a while for everything to click.
Lol i wouldn't draw any confidence from that performance, it was ridiculous, especially the second half. lack of quality from both sides on the day, but we didn't even attack during the second half. thats what mou does, happy to take a point away from home, try and win the home games vs the big teams. if it works and we win the title, no one complans. if we dont win, everyone is pissed off and or bored.
Our best formation would be Mane, couts, firminio, salah and Lallana all in starting 11, but even that will take some time to click together.
Sho I think that would leave the team too open defensively. I would like to see all 5 of them play together but I can imagine that formation being countered easily.
I like salah but in my honest opinion I think he has a very short ceiling in terms of potential. He does not look to be as good as firmino, mane, lallana etc those players I believe you can rely on to win you the game (not lately I know). He seems more of the type of player who plays well when others are doing good. I know he is our top scorer at the moment but I am not impressed with his overall game. Our attack looked way more dynamic last season, I think a big reason is the lack of creativity in midfield with loss of Lallana.. But alot of slack comes from our right side being very wasteful.
+2
Salah reminds me of sterling a bit in the sense that he has immense natural pace and incisiveness but not the final quality.

I think Liverpool needs to invest in flair players in the midfield like you said a la Coutinho. Right now the team seems to be too thin on flair and squad depth. The loss of mane has been a killer blow and a team should not depend on any player like this
+1
The only problem as of now that I see with Salah is that he is not not scoring when in scoring positions.

But if we can recall coutinho or suarez in their initial seasons, even they needed time to start scoring the way they did in the later stages. Remember that season under Dalglish when all we did was hit the post, but seasons after that Suarez scored 20+ goals. Hence I think it would be premature for us to think he is not as good as we think.

For me the threat he possesses is way more than what we had with Cout and suarez in their 1st seasons.

He will come good, as of now all we lack is inform sturridge or that type of player. But I feel as and when season progresses we will come good.
+6
thank you sam! his pace is something we haven't had in years when complimented with mané, it makes it a defensive nightmare for both fullbacks to worry about wingers that can blow by you. salah's finishing is definitely lacking, but if he can adjust to the physical english game he'll be a handfull. i dont think he really had time to figure out the prem when given the odd game at chelski, give him at least a season as a starter to figure out the logistics of the league.
Let Salah gain some more confidence and will become the best player in the EPL
Mo Salah for next Ballon d'or..
@sam good points I hope it works out like saurez did
The only legitimate complaint you can have about Salah is his finishing. He has been playing well and linking up with others. He has pace, skills, and good passing. He just messes up good opportunities too much. Hopefully he can increase his conversion rate.

If he had converted even just a few of the chances where he should have scored we wouldn't be having this conversation.
His dribbling is not as good as manes, I think he is the least technical dribbler in the squad, and abit of a headless chicken at times.
Least technical dribbler in the squad? You're joking, right?

Apart from his finishing, Salah has been quite good and always gives it his all. Just needs some time to work on his composure in front of goal
Watford in 4th place... what a time to be alive.
It was cleverley done in the 90th min

^i smell what you're stepping in
How are we still 2 points from fourth xD

How s**t is everyone else
+1
We are still two points away from fourth because it's still early in the season.

I really don't see what the problem here is. LFC is not doing too bad considering the fixtures we've had in those eight games.

If you're expecting LFC to win the league then you gotta check yourself again, if you're expecting LFC to get into Champions League, then don't f*****g panic. Keep supporting and be realistic with your expectations.
+3
Well its just a very very tough league is all..Crystal Palace proved last night that no team can be taken lightly
+1
We did shite in them 8 games lol, the one that killed it for me was the Newcastle game. I have not been so Fking mad at this team in a long time. How we literally chucked away two points in that one... My blood boils just thinking about it.
+1
honestly united were very lucky to get out of anfield with a point. we should have won but our finishing was poor. with their form and with de gea still playing for the decent side they are it's a pretty good result for us considering our position and the rest of the weekends results. i know we probably should have won that match but considering mané was out, not a terrible result. we now know they're not as good as they think they are. city are the real deal, not the other weaker manchester team.
+1
seriously, despite our defense for the past decade, if we had a goalkeeper like de gea we'd have won the league already. there's no denying his quality :/
+1
how could our atk be just as clueless as our defense its like they dont know how to stay calm and finish.
+1
yeah i agree but they have a solid defense, esp with ddg saving their asses year in and year out. if he leaves united's defense is way up creek with a paddle they can't mend.
Liverpool have now won just once in eight matches in all competitions and have drawn the last three games as they struggle to repeat their goalscoring feats of last season. Makes this result worse considering Arsenal and Chelsea lost.
+1
It looks more and more like a meh season.

+3
Get into top four will be good enough this season. I know we all want to win a title but getting consistency is more important. Most pieces of our team are there, only few are missing. If we get top 4 will mean we that quality players will once again want to join us and with Keita coming in we are only a striker and a center back away from being a bloody good side.
+2
Keep your heads up and keep comparing yourselves to arsenal. I promise, it will be a good season ;)
Haha just realized what an Arsenal thing to say that was.
Gomez was solid today
+3
I liked his performance, also moreno and wijnuldum.

Gini had a few moments where he was very direct, he has the ability to be that good I don't understand why he doesn't do it more often.
+2
Gomez MOTM for me
i hope he becomes a regular in the first team! i really think he can steal lovren's place when clyne comes back :)
City- holy s**t!! 8 games into the season and the top 2 already look way beyond reach :( time to scrap for 3 and 4 again
It was going to be difficult... Spurs and Chelsea don't look to be going down. Focus on champions league and win fa Cup is our goal I guess
no Fa Cup is ours, good luck with champions league :p
+2
City looks like the clear favorites now. Manure don't deserve the title
time to scrap for 3 and 4 again

Wasn't that our primary objective in the first place?
+2
I thought we could have pushed for the title this time around
+1
Fair enough mate. Not saying you're wrong or right.
+1
Im sure we will turn this around eventually. I just hope its soon enough
+1
That's what I'm hoping for
