Why don't we freshen up our mood? Let's talk about some basic math.
5-3=? What is the answer for that?
And they want to add CR7 to that!
Will adding CR7 to that equation change anything?
Or will it be just another same equation written in an expensive ink?
i cant get over the fact how bad we played against city just wow
+2
Get over it! It was a good performance in the champions back yard, its not like we lost 5-3 to Leicester or 3-1 to west ham
Eh. We did just enough imo. We still have plenty of time to rectify our weaknesses. Read the following article for some perspective.

City vs Chelsea Tunnel CAM, must watch

Seems like nobody hug Zabalata?
Kolarov seems like a very friendly dude. Too friendly perhaps
Describe your team in three words? Mourinho: "very very good" lol

Bus and Ferrari
Totally agreed, when a player decided to join a direct rival, the love story is OVER,plz wake up. He could of gone on loan to Australia or even Qatar, why to a direct rival?

Nice default picture.

Just be grateful that lamp didn't run across the pitch to celebrate like Adebayor.
KGB - ROFL!!..good one :D D

Victor - http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/emb1.gif

I love him when he was a CFC Player. That pic was posted when he scored the goal that put him as the rank1st all time top goal scorer back in 2013
@MrBuklau, this topic has been discussed ad nauseam over the last few pages man. Take a look.

Did you even consider that he wanted to stay at Chelsea but he was released? Think it out calmly.
+3
Just stop dude.
+3
This is off topic. I don't know if it is the same for others but on my browser MrBuklau's 2nd post changed fonts half way through. Just curious, did you do that on purpose? How did you do that?
That's a geeky question. Wait..

Yup thats me. Just wondering if Victor is somehow doing it on purpose. Pretty cool if u ask me.
not just you bro. same here. changes exactly on the 2nd "C" of CFC.
The fact that we're upset about drawing with a team that are the defending champions and the co-favorite for the title this year shows how confident we are in Chelsea's current form. That is a good sign.
+2
Great point Eeegay. Also, remember that this was at the Etihad and not SB as well. Confidence is high and bodes well for the team. Mourinho has built the team very well with some judicious player transitions.

Of course it is early days, but good to see one team which looks to be on track for the long race. I think the breakout factor for Chelsea this year is the ability to attack as well as defend very well as per the situation. The balance is the key.
I don't think many are upset with the results just with how we played specially against 10 men City we have been playing great football and looking like the best club in the league with the way we were playing no need to change our style for City and be too defensive that's giving them too much respect

Its only one match here hoping we play more football like we did the 1st 4 matches
I wish that the tables on the side of the page were interactive in the sense that I can toggle my view by clicking 'form', 'GF', 'GA', etc... to change the hierarchy and sort the teams by that category alone. Has this ever been thought about?
Our first bump in the road this season. I think we're handling it very well considering the explosiveness we've seen on this forum in past seasons. We all wear our passion on our sleeves, we all want the best result every game. We should be happy with the direction our team is going. 5 games in, 3 points up.

The most important thing for me about yesterdays result is that we didn't let City make up any ground on us. It would have been nice to take all 3 points but We don't slways get everything we want and we should not go into every game with such big expectations as it leaves people floored when results go against us.

This is a public forum. A place where we will see many diffferent opinions. And with this in mind we will always see and say things with our own opinions at heart. As long as there is a logical debate and not just blind passion it will be acknowledged. @NaijaCareFree. Your opinions on Lampard are duely noted. You've spoke on how you feel about Lampard, most here tend to lean the other way but it shouldn't discourage you from continuing to state the way you feel. It has not been done so out of disrespect for any other member so it is relevant to this site and I for one welcome any intelligent debate. Sometimes getting it out can be quite therapudic.

Sometimes people forget that any post can be ignored and usually it will end up in the abyss of the back pages pretty quick if you just leave it alone and start your own thread. I think we're all pretty clear on how we feel about Lampard. It's only 25 hours since the game started so I don't expect this topic to dissappear immediately but out of respect for everyone's opinion maybe we should just let it heal for a bit.

I must say, I've been here for 5 years and the conversations and debates here are better than they've ever been. Most of our frequent members have great points to add and bring a global perspective on football you can't find on any other site related to Chelsea anywhere. We regularly welcome rivals here and they are generally treated with respect, usually based on how friendly they are when they post. Not many other clubs forums on FT can boast this kind of hospitality, so keep it up people. FT Chelsea forum is a great place to be!

Nice one Rylan.
We need more heads like you here C61...cheers mate. At the end of the day we are all saying lets KTBFFH.
I've been to many other sites including Reddit and the official CFC members forum. Reddit is a disaster IMO as it allows dissent and insults to run rampant. As a result its like the wild west over there. I think I've only posted there about a half dozen times with positive comments and I've be down voted almost every time. If you like hostile environments where you can openly slag off people who claim they support the same team then by all means go join reddit and let the negativity flow through you.

FootyTube (FT) is an entirely different animal. A community based on respect, welcoming all intelligent and friendly conversations, punishing those that aren't. There are very few places like it on the internet, none as big as FT IMO. It's the main reason I've stayed so long and dedicate so much of my free time to it. I love this place! It's my home for all things CFC. I love sharing it with all my blue brothers and sisters here. I wouldn't have it any other way. I hope you all feel the same way!
Few years back, I remember what I said about Lampard and Chelsea that Lampard should leave because we were going to create different team with different generation. One of the things I don't understand is that having Lampard leave like that and bring back Drogba. It just doesn't make sense to me.
+1
Not sure how this thread spawned your question DrogbaLampard but here's my best answer.

He's been brought back because the system we've used for over a decade now was built around him. His leadership in the dressing room is unparalelled. He gave the pre-gsme speach before the 2012 CL final. Also I believe he is being groomed to be our future striker coach.
Chelsea61 with a long post i have to scroll back few pages to see what i missed

Just a year back...I had raised my opinion against Mata bench and sale, but not many here agreed to my points and supported me.

Even though I still stand with my opinion in Mata case...I had to move on by not raising the topic again and again to avoid needless arguments in the forum.

Naija- I agree that you have full rights to raise your opinion and nobody is right or wrong here...but sometime one has to let it go for the sake of ending long arguments and maintain sanity in this forum.
cheers.
Let me rephrase my question. So Drogba is brought back so he can be a role model in dressing room, why didn't we offer the same kind of role and ask Lampard's leadership in the dressing room? I mean after all, I think Lampard is much more legend than Drogba is (probably very subjective :p) Lampard was the reason why Chelsea could be so successful (4th in 2002) prior to Roman era.

This is why I keep coming to read comments from your guys !

Mourinho has a clinical and objective approach to hes managing, and that has been clear if we take a look at hes exploits over hes career. In games such as that of yesterday, he sets out his team not to lose, with a win being a bonus. Its simple logic that alot of managers stray from for whatever reason, be it to please the fans and audience, or pro activity, with not much of a conservative mind set. Different approaches work for different great managers, but I love and respect Mourinho's style. Its what has got him where he is and I love it. On to the next..
+3
Mou is defo my kind of Manager...and thats not saying he's perfect but his pragmatism and desire to win is what does it for me. I like brutally honest poeple who accept reality and make the best of what life throws at them. No need to live in fantasy and play to please people and in the end get hurt. Liverpool of last season are a recent example...what could have been if they played defensive against us and maybe nicked a draw and shut shop after going 3-nil up against Crystal Palace? They would have been the reigning Champions.
+2
It's not an easy job for anyone as we have witnessed. One of the most harsh environments to manage in as the expectations are so high and so is the competition. Jose may rub rivals in a way that creates controvercy but he doesn't win any points for being friendly or complimentry when he's asked questions by the press. It's a delicate dance that is always calculated and 99 times out of 100 Jose walks away from it with a mental edge. Which in turn reflects back on our players well giving them the right level of motivation to win. Its genius IMO. So many times other managers put their feet in their mouths after speaking with the press but Jose always seems to have an answer that isn't timid or weak and the players thrive on it.
Pellegrini is an arrogant man: "They played like a small team" ! this is an insult imo !
Mate he also said Arsenal shouldn't be in the Champions league cos it's for champions. While I know we haven't won it before I find it a bit rich coming from a guy managing a team which hasn't yet managed to qualify from their CL group, which Arsenal does every year. Stupid comments.
+6
Thats an insult to small teams! Leicester and west ham hardly played like us lol.

Honestly, I disliked the way we played on sunday. I think Mou wanted to play like last season but the plan didnt work.
Watched the game again and tbh both sides lookes equal especially in the first half it wasent as one sided as people seem to think. Second half city were pushing and finally threatening our goal until they got a zabaleta sent off and rightly so, then it was all us. I dont understand most peoples evaluation on that game, the only time city dominated was from the time the second half started leading up to the red card.
+1
I absolutely loved the way we played yesterday it could have been a lot better if only our players showed a bit more quality when it mattered. Willian and Ramires' passing were below par yesterday and they did show as much energy levels as they usually do. I think the plan was for them to be the deep runners from midfield to support Costa but I didn't see much of that.

Also Mou's tactics was based on the fact that a point will be okay for us and the onus is on City to go for the 3 points playing at home. That is why they are called MANAGERS. .they need to manage the team and also manage the results.

@Kaiba...very well put. I never saw this total dominance that is being bandied around even by some of us. They looked a bit better bcos we allowed them time and space in their own half. City needed the 3 points from the game and were lucky to get one. When we needed 3 points from them at the Etihad we went for the jugular from the start and ended their unbeaten home record. Mou is the more sensible Manager that Pelle bcos he knows when to fight and when to retreat.
+1
Im ok with the draw really. Plus, we scored a pretty good goal. The thing that bugs me is how we looked vulnerable even when they lost zabaleta.
City replaced Zabaleta with Sagna and took off Dzeko who was meh anyway. They didn't really miss much and it didn't affect their shape.

It's the best possible scenario after going down to 10, if they had to sacrifice a midfielder for Sagna, it would have been different.
http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2014/9/22/6828097/the-harding-perspective-manchester-city-away

This article pretty much sums up what i felt in a much more coherent way. My main grouch is that our midfield couldn't match up to theirs for large portion of the game.
