Congrats to USA, far and away the better team.
there is revenge written all over their faces, what a wonderful performance.
Anybody watching women final? goal gallows, C Lloyd of US just scored Charly Adams goal against us.
USA! USA! Craziest start to a football game since Germany v Brasil.
C. Lloyd just made history with the fastest ever hat-trick in a world cup final. in both men's and women's.
17.8m?! That's it?!

The news comes on the back of reports that Arsenal are set to make a £17.8million bid to tempt Madrid into selling Benzema.

Southampton are a rival team?
My problem with Falcoa is that he is a poacher like Costa , we needed a striker like Drogba ( longshot monster )
I feel we could have turned Schurrle into that . it came naturally to him
Chelsea will reportedly complete the £8million transfer signing of Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic this week.

Begovic, 28, has been targeted as a replacement for Petr Cech, although the Bosnia and Herzegovina international will have to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea’s first offer of £6m was rejected last week but, according to the Daily Telegraph, a £8m deal has now been agreed and will be completed this week.

Stoke are thought to want to take a Blues player out on loan as part of the deal.
I noticed we actually dont have a good depth. Or rather, " Quality " depth . 1 or 2 key players out, we wont look the same (Fab & Hazard / Matic & Fab)

For eg.

Matic injured = replace by ? (Mikel out soon as it seems)

Fabregas in deep lying role injured = replaced by ? (Ramires aint fab of course)

Hazard injured = replaced by?

Oscar as a CAM injured = replace by? (Maybe Willian but hes more a RW in our team)

+ We dont have much option in the CB role (Cahill, Terry , Zouma, Ivanovic(? Right back)

We killed our depth selling Schurlle kdb mata and salah on loan
We need RLC Brown Solanke traore and Bamford to gell in the team
^That depth you're talking about wasn't happy just being depth. They didn't fit into the starting XI and made noise about not being played, or just sulked on the sidelines and didn't give their all in training.

The problem with having quality depth is keeping them happy when they go months without playing. I think this season we won't have as big an issue with unhappy second stringers as we're bringing players in that know they aren't first choice. Falcao and Begovic are being brought in specifically for depth. Bertrand Traore as well, and if he's good enough we might see him take Willian or Oscar's spot.

Man have to give credit to Mou he made majority of football community to think that higuain is top class striker & better then benzema :p
To think that he cost the team the WC and the copa... Some clutch stuff from Higuain, didn't he also blow a pk for napoli that would have secured CL?
Yes he did

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3104999/Napoli-2-4-Lazio-Rafa-Benitez-s-farewell-ends-despair-Gonzalo-Higuain-misses-penalty-home-miss-Champions-League-Serie-finale.html
Higuain in his madrid days was better striker than benz
He scored around 20 more goals in the same amount of games...

But yea higuain has really screwed up big moments in the past few years lol
+3
He's cursed. When he stepped up for that penalty today, you just knew he would miss, and miss badly.
Its not his fault Argentina lost. First of all, Argentina had more than enough time before he got subbed on to score. The chance he had at the end was harder than people think. The pass was awful, the keeper had the near post covered, and he had a defender on him. Everyone misses penalties. Just go ask Messi... he missed in the semis against Chelsea. Remember that?
+6
^ exactly...so Messi never missed penalty?? Messi, ADM or others dint have 90+ min to create or score a goals??....Ronaldo dint miss a penalty in CL finals against Chelsea?? (luckily Terry scrwed up)

Entire team failed as a unit and no need to pick on one
+3
No one is saying the fault lay solely with him though. He just has a propensity to choke in big moments. You can't deny of he had scored his chances in the last two finals, Argentina would have likely won
+3
yeah, not saying it's solely his fault. When Di Maria was injured they were screwed. Pastore looked clueless and Martino doesn't have a game plan. But in recent years when the team needed it most and he was presented with the golden opportunities, Higuain totally choked.
Go check out Barcelona's chat and you'll see them put all of the blame on Higuain. Deep down they're sad because, yet again, they were let down by Messi in international football. Other than the semis, he was disappointing.
+6
lol! checked Barca page and its all about Higuain....yeah that guys is a chocker, but using him to cover-up Messi's failure to perform for country when it matters is not fair.

Aguero , Messi , ADM they all need to take blame too....too much quality to not score a goal in normal time.
+1
@bazinga & realfan , just have a look at Barcelona forum again , since the lost there have been posts about how messi , Kun , pastore & lavezzi were average , even lots of post about how tata was tactically clueless .

Obviously Higuain was blamed most as he missed the sitter & its not just barca fan , have a look at bigger forums or sites , majority of people are blaming higuain ,

also this miss signify more because of his bottling habit in important matches .
+1
I'd put Messi in the bottling category as well, has done it plenty for Barcelona but can't seem to inspire Argentina in the crunch finals, I knows its harsh basing it on one game but this one game is where the likes of Zidane, Iniesta, Maradona, Ronaldo (R9) all inspired their countries to world/continental glory.

Messi is an all time great, but not in Argentina, he can't lace up Maradona's boots and is below even the likes of Tevez (which is strange to me too)
+2
I always find it weird when people put blame at one person's doorstep in a team game, even if that person is the best player in the world. Zidane / Iniesta / Ronaldo, would not have done what they did if it was not for an unfairly underrated supporting cast, that performed magnificently on the day.
I disagree on your second point, there is a reason why its such a disadvantage when a team goes down to 10 men. If 1 player goes missing it makes a massive difference.

Now imagine if that one player is one of your best players and you see him struggling, its going to affect the other players for sure (motivation, fear etc.) And it works the other way around as well.

I agree that the blame should not all fall on one player's shoulder, disappointment of not playing up to the standards set by the player in question is more like it.
Let's agree to disagree then. Going down to 10 men, and one player not performing to potential, are completely different scenarios, and not comparable.

Messi, for all his talents, still relies (like all players in the history of the game) others on the pitch to make space for him. Sure, he might not have been at his best, but he is only human.
+2
This cup is so rigged lol this has to be the worst Argentina side in a while, messi continues to prove that he is just a club player. Sad day in south america everyone but chile shouting injustice
