Do you think we should play this formation with a false 9 more often? We actually played quite well and didn't rely on a striker to hold the ball.

"I sink boring is a team that cannot score a single goal against a boring team in 5 games "
This game is the difference between winning and losing the title. Its the difference between Chelsea and Liverpool. And its the difference between Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers.

Last year, Liverpool didn't have to chase the game against us, they didn't have to win, all they needed was a draw. But Rodgers and the Liverpool historians wanted to win in style, and it cost them big time. Even Benitez knew when to put the brakes on (CL 2005 against Mourinho), but not Rodgers aka "Defending is easy"

Same concept applies here. Look what winning in style did for Liverpool, and do they regret it now? Are the fans happy that even though they didn't win the title they can take comfort that they played an attacking stylish game? Something tells me that most would say no.

This is one way to do but i have seen teams do it other ways too. Chelsea did that with Ancellotti. So i dont agree that this is the difference between winning and loosing. This is how Mourinho does it and there is no shame in that.
+1
I wouldn't differentiate that season with Ancellotti with this season too much actually, we did our entertaining in the first part and grinded out some big wins in the latter part. Ancelloti's side had more players at their pomp don't forget, Mourinho doesn't have this luxury, we have one of the youngest average age sides.

And remember that defeat to Inter?, Mourinho read us like a book and grinded that game out, his team was second best that game but they won it thanks to an Eto'o goal on the counter, and they went on to lift the trophy doing the exact same thing to your current manager in the final.

Oh and no way i'm ashamed of it, the opposite in fact. We will get better next season and be more attacking, but I am just making a small example that their is a right time to play with style and a right time to dig out results. SAF knew this when he hand picked his sides 3 weeks in advance and so does Mourinho. They are different class.

There was a quote from Jenas on BBC...which I posted before and it explains better

"There is more than one way to win a title and Chelsea have shown the ability to adapt, playing flowing football, fuelled by the goals of Diego Costa earlier in the season and then digging in without him to beat Manchester United and draw at Arsenal.

"The only people Mourinho has to please are Chelsea's fans and owner Roman Abramovich - and it is unlikely they will be bored when they are celebrating another title."
Congrats to hazard!

Transfer News : Real Madrid's shock move for John Obi Mikel(ESPN)

Real Madrid are interested in the 28-year-old's services.

It seems an odd move for a side that has built its transfer policy on signing Galacticos, especially given Mikel has made just 12 Premier League appearances this season. But Real have been lacking solidity in the middle after the sale of Xabi Alonso and injuries to key midfielders, and Mikel could offer Carlo Ancelotti a stable presence in front of his centre-backs.

LOOL
lol!! Nobody is falling for this BS :D
This is funny. But not beyond realm of possibility. Carlo rated him. And he'd honestly flourish, giving players like Kroos, Modric and James freedom while he anchors and does what he does best.
I still rate him, never complains, does a job for the team, a proper soldier who knows his role. Would be sad to lose him. But maybe we'd get to see more of RLC this way.
CR7 + £50m and we might consider :P
Bluff - That is exactly why I don't rate him...at 28 he should be peaking and complaining about not getting starts instead of settling for a easy backup role. He is a nice guy, but I think its time to let go
Mou "If we'd won today we'd need three. If we'd lost today we'd need eight.

"This point is like almost three points, because you don't need eight, you need five.

like I said earlier in the week a draw or win would be oh so sweet, and we accomplished it without trying too hard.

as our great german once said i.e. ballack :) : "Football is not possession on the ball or playing nice passes. Good football is winning games and that’s what we do when we play against them."

even though we did not win we got the job done, and further grasped the title. call us boring if you want but we will be lifting the trophy at the end of the season, and the same deluded clubs and fans will be hoping for a better outcome next season.
Fun fact: Eden Hazard is the first Belgium player to win PFA player of the year award.
Don't kompany win?
Kompany won the Premier league player of the year award not the PFA player of the year award.
