Not trying to start anything, but I've seen a lot of Lampard/Gerrard posts today so I figured now would be a good time to ask. What is the infatuation with Gerrard? Am I so biased that I rate Lampard above him, or is it simply the truth?
In every measurable way, Lampard is better, although Gerrard, I feel, was more precociously talented, and could have done so much more with his career.

Everyone loves an underdog, which is what Liverpool have been in recent years (even in their 2005 UCL run).

Lampard was a great player among many (many leaders as well), Gerrard was a great player among many mediocre/average players. That by default makes Gerrard stand out more.

Thats just a few of many many points you can say.
+2
Lampard will never reach what Gerrard has done. Because Lampard doesn't know how to slip. You have to know how and when to slip at the right time.

But seriously, Lampard is the next best English footballer in the past decade after Beckham imo.
+2
Before terry?
I would say Rooney after Lampard then Terry.
As a united supported I must point out Scholes.
+1
tbh i don't like comparing the three. Their play styles are too different to me. It's like comparing Messi and Ronaldo. They do different things, and they do them excellently

All three of them are great long distance shooters
But Scholes is more of defensive & strong and has a perfect long distance pass
Gerrard is a bit more advanced and is more involved offensively with perfect passing and timing.
Lampard is the most advanced of the three and is the best shooter and best offensive instinct with passing and body placement.

Their all legends in their own regard. If i had to chose between them for a team, it would depend on what i need from my CM cause these three are very different.
From a neutral standpoint...Lampard blew me away. I'm just as surprised as you guys.
Not as talented, but miles better tactically, intellectually, and emotionally.

SuperFrankie Lampard. :* :'(

Dem timing..
+1
I do that for breakfast
Forget about putting it in, I wouldn't be able to even catch it at 60mph.
Mou's presser:

- Cech is struggling with injury but will try to play some part
- Costa will play
- Hazard didn't train and is unlikely to play atm
- He hopes to give Christensen and Boga some minutes
+3
If we're leading by two goals and we receive a penalty, would Cech take it? Seems a bit disrespectful, but it'd be awesome.
+1
I hate that they keep risking costas health for no potential gain in standings
@eegay

I think it's probably to see how his hamstrings are progressing, and if they are to break down, best now, when he can get surgery, rather than the openings games of next season.
@eegay.

We have the best physios/doctors/sports scientists in the world at chelsea.

let them make the decision on costas fitness
Huge signs Yaya toure could be on his way to chelsea as mourinho starts making cake analogies.
