I must admit City's football so far this season has been the best I've seen in the PL since I started following the league a decade and half ago. I have made several posts about them being lucky recently with last minute winners etc and that trend continued last weekend with United missing several chances most notably the double save by Eduardo vs Lukaku. Still City deserve their luck and I just hope someone throws a spanner in their wheel beginning this weekend.

Having said all that I think there's a lesson for us here to learn because sentiments don't win u games. City have no academy player in their first team and their academy has been doing very well in the last 4 years. They have Bernado Silva a 50m player on the bench who has hardly featured this season same applies to Danilo and Mangala with a combined fee of nearly 80m. If u look at their team they have 2 full blooded internationals for every position which is how to do it if u want to be successful. The media harps on about Chelsea not giving youngsters a chance and keeping Batshuayi on the bench last season but nobody says the same about City.

Going forward if an academy player is not being featured by the manager we must respect and accept that the manager has first hand information and is best placed to make that call. What we are seeing today is a result of patience and long term planning at City. They recruited Pep's colleagues at Barca 3 to 4 years before Pep came on board and I hear he came with around 15 staff of his. I don't think our club will allow that and tbh that is not what guarantees success. However I'd like to see us be more ambitious in our transfer dealings and hopefully with Emenalo out perhaps there'll be a change in that area.

I still think we have done OK for a club that got one out of 5 of her primary targets in the summer and lost 2 starters most importantly Costa whom I think is the only player we've really missed this season. There are games which he single handedly won for us last season with a single goal like West Bromley away. But then we have to move in and for his first full season as the main striker and in a new league Morata is doing very well and the stats back him up. Bakayoko came injured and it's alien to the league obviously so it's unfair to expect him to shine every game and his former team mate Bernado Silva cannot even starting at City either.

Let's stop slagging our boys they are doing their best. And this is not me being jealous of City far from it and there's no basis for such assumptions. In my time following Chelsea we have won everything available at European club football level, scored a record number of goals, record number of wins, fewest losses in a season, highest number of points in a season and I'm thoroughly fulfil. It's very competitive out there with richer and arguably better run clubs to compete against but we have won 2 of the last 3 titles.

Some clubs got all their signings, some got 5 out of 6 we didn't come close to those figures in comparison but we are still up there and in all competitions. Honestly I don't care if we end up without silverware as I didn't expect to win last season. Conte has done very well we have a gem of a manager in him and imo he's currently the 2nd best manager in the league this season as United have been lucky to be ahead of is. The only thing hindering Conte now is our board and the way the club is run. I hope with Emenalo gone we will stop with just buying potential to fill in first team positions instead of buying proper first team starters and mix it up with a couple of one-for-the-future buys.

Completely agreed...Can't expect us to win league year after year when 5 big clubs are spending more or some as much as us season after season to improve squad and challenge.

We have won 2 leagues , 1 CL , 1 EL , 1 FA cup , 1 League cup in last 5 seasons with average net spending of 50m per season and letting go legends like Terry , Lampard , Drogba , Mikel , Ivan , Cole etc.

I think Top-4 finished , CL QF or Semi , FA cup will be good season considering how many big players left the club in last few years.
i hope we can get Eden to sign a contract at the end of the season and most importantly keep Conte happy
and it will be good season
Apparently Eden gave his man of the match award to Willian. #Class
+3
now sign that contract Eden
How was Eden motm? All he did was try flicks all game only half of which came off. Willian was involved in every goal. Skewed.
#brazillianmessi
like Eden said 'We back'
@Shay Hazard was the key in the first goal other than that it's injustice to Willian, who deserved MOTM
Where is Baka's haters at ?
his best performance also Willian was great
Good game from baka today, very well done.He made his presence felt in midfield, especially with only a 2 man mid
More performances like this will do very well for his confidence.
+3
yup i agree, i want to see us use 3-4-3 with Kante and Baka as CM
+2
Baka haters? we did well yesterday and credit where it's due. Hopefully we see more of such performance. Just because people call him out when he doesnt perform does not mean they hate him. Credit to him but he has to improve a ton to merit more praise
trust me there a lot of d**ks on twitter and FB that goes after Baka if we dont win the match, the worst part is they are Chelsea fans, i hope he is more consistent
We just had to give dem DAT goal didn't we 😕😑😑😑😑😑😠😠
we like to make our opposition feel good
How f*****g poor by Rudiger
So Willian gets 2 assist and a goal, yet still Hazard gets man of the match, loooool.
thats unfair poor Willian
And what does Hazard do?He gives Willian the award and tell him this belongs to you, class.
+4
Hazard doing what he does best assisting

good stuff, they were a joy to watch
Hazard the type of guy to win the Ballon D Or and say his team deserves it
+2
Huddersfield best moments so far in the 2nd half, they "controlling"(ofc Chelsea let them doing that) the game lol but at 0-3 its normal
Where those willian haters at? 😂😂😂😂
+4
lol
Are you gonna have a nice dinner to celebrate, Dorru?
+1
yes Bokiya with champagne LUL
lol why is criticizing a player that is having a bad run of games hate? Should we smile when a player isnt playing well. He has performed well of recent has deserved his praise
+1
They are hiding in same place his followers hide for 75% of the season every year :P
Because they are some that criticize him for making a few bad passes while others have done a lot worse, then say he cost us the game. But when he has a good game you don't see them.
+3
for me ALWAYS Willian better than Pedro, much more quality Willian its evident, lets not lie ourselves, and I believe its a bit unfair to criticize Willian, he didnt even played as a starter so far this season, only just a few matches
REDZONE - Absolutely wrong and people only criticize him because he is wasting his talent poor decision making and at age of 29 he is yet to hit the peak. Anyways who cares as long as Chelsea win
No.Absolutely right and you are the main culprit that's why you replied.Even now you can't say he was great today.
+1
Bazinga I think Conte wasted Willian talent so far this season and last season not Willian himself, you cant be in great form if u are on the bench, lets be honest, Conte prefered Pedro instead of Willian and that is sad imo bc Conte should had seen so far the class and the quality of both

P.S: you remember Jose starting Willian when we won the title ? thats how Willian is playing, for me we shouldnt bring Pedro and Morata to Chelsea, imo are bad/weak quality players ( I read a comment on dailymail from a spanish guy and he said that even the newspapers and Real M themselves were surprised that Chelsea paid 60m pounds for a such a bad player). And for me Morata didnt proved nothing at Real M, only a bit at Juventus but the thing is that we got him after Real M bring him back and benched him 1y so ofc you cant play good
Willian better in the 2nd striker role, Conte can't drop Morata or Hazard, but Willian has been sensational in that position
"for me we shouldnt bring Pedro and Morata to Chelsea, imo are bad/weak quality players ( I read a comment on dailymail from a spanish guy and he said that even the newspapers and Real M themselves were surprised that Chelsea paid 60m pounds for a such a bad player). OMG dude you seriously love willian to the core and thas fine...But picking on Morata and Pedro lol! ok lets stop it here

REDZONE- I would like to see how you react what Willian starts and gives bad performances...you go missing like we go missing when he performs well. Nobody is saint. cheers!
Dorru I disagree with everything on your last post . Pedro and Morata wasn't bad players and stop listening to the bs pundits coz they say the opposite. Willian has talent and has been wrongly criticized here also he do make lots of wrong decision on the final third. Pedro only better than willian in finishing that's all. Willian is better in all other aspects.
I think you are mistaken and post history proves it.Willian plays s**t I say it.When you say?Last game against A.Madrid his bad decision making and holding the ball too long cost a a couple of goals and I said that.So yea sounds like bs.

Many times I have said he has the IQ of a door nail(he really does)And that is his only fault. When it comes to passing, shooting and dribbling(second or third best in the league only behind Hazard and Countinho)he his on point.

I have criticized Baka to no end for being rubbish most of the season and said today,he was very good and hopes he keeps it up and do well. That is my outlook on all players, play s**t get criticized, play good get praise, simple(shout out to Mikel).
Nice gol
Willan goal and assist keep it coming.
