So are we not signing anyone this window?
don't think so, dont think we need anyone
Conte and the board are being very sensible about new signings and I'm totally with them. In this window players will be overpriced and the "bargains" will probably not be better than our some of our loanees so it would be a waste of money.

I think our current squad can see the season out with only 2 comps to play
Here are our Winter Window In-Transfers over the last 5 years:

11/12
-Cahill
-Piazon
-KdB

12/13
-Ba

13/14
-Matic
-Salah
-Zouma

14/15
-Cuadrado

15/16
-Miazga

Judging from the quality and the price we paid for those players (when compared to the quality and price for the players we've brought in during Summer Windows over the last 5 years), I think it is wise to wait.

As Naija points out, quality XI players will break the bank and reasonably priced transfers will likely never cut it.

Also, I'm still pissed we sold KdB

Zouma , Ake and Kenndey are like new signings
+1
don't forget Bertrand Traore
No need to sign anyone at the moment. We have everyone in our squad fit at the moment. Cant say the same about other top 5 teams and we are 8 points ahead. Let them worry about new signings. We should just chill.
KGB that list actually looks better than I thought it would. Either way no point is picking up players for 2 competitions, better wait for quality players in the summer. We're deep enough right now.
It looks better because Torres has been excluded. What a dimwitted move that turned out to be eh?
Remaining game against Top - 10 teams

-> Liverpool (A)
-> Arsenal (H)
-> West Ham (A)
-> Stock city (A)
-> City (H)
-> United (A)
-> Everton (A)
-> West Brom (A)

This is where the 8 point lead helps...we could easily lose/Draw couple of games from the fixture listed above and yet remain top of the table.

Most important point to note is Arsenal , Liverpool , City , United & Spurs play each other as well...So its very obvious that we will have more than 8 points to cushion at the end.
1 game at a time! We are on pace to accumulate 90+ points which would guarantee title :)

However, Things can change drastically. After match week 6 City were 8 clear of us now we're 12 clear of them after 16 games.

Jeez so many away games, counting on a few 0-1 wins.
Would you guys take alternate seasons of finishing 1st and 10th? xD
Lol good question. Yea i probably would...lol
Nope.
I want consistency. or else we will start losing key players, sponsorship deals because of UCL money etc
Which means we will win 5 league titles in 10 years? Not too bad, but 5 champions league entries in 10 years is just not good enough.
Would u rather finish 2-4 for 10 seasons? I'd rather 1St and 10th.
Well it depends on what I have on the other plate. My preferences:
1. At least 3 epl titles with top 4 all the time ( i would pick 5 titles and 5 years no
Champions league over 2 titles and every year On CL)
2. Alternate seasons of finish 1st and 10th
3. 10 seasons with CL but no title
Wake me up when someone give us some challenge to our 16/17 title *cocky voice*
I feel since teams started playing 3 at the back we have struggled somewhat offensively. We were scoring very freely and creating lots of chances. The last 5 or so wins we haven't been so free in attack I feel, though very solid in defense.
I wonder how we would play with 3-5-2 with Cesc in midfield and Hazard and Costa up front. Cesc is so important for us in terms of set pieces, creating chances from open play as you saw last night.

On another note anybody notice Cesc keepin his beard and growin his hair long? Tryin to look like Pirlo so conte will play him xD
our two best performances this season were playing 3-4-3 against united and Everton.

In-spite of not being fluid in attack recently. We have score 3/4 less goals compared to Arsenal and liverpool.

I agree on having Cesc in the team helps a lot...would be good option against Pool next weekend.

3-5-2 will help us control the mid-field against big teams.

Not easy playing vs 5 at the back and everyone but the striker defending, and it doesn't help when we play Kante-Matic against those teams.
It will be so good to seeConte and Chelsea in UCL next season. With couple of signings I think you guys can give any European side a good run for their money
I wouldn't say we have struggled offensively I think teams have learnt to sit back against us which is what the PL is all about. You can surprise teams for so long with ur style or tactics but it wont take teams long is this league to figure a way to nullify you. It happened when we last won the league when we were the most entertaining side and by January we had to grind out results. That we are still winning games is a testament to the teams mentality and Conte's relentless pursuit of excellence from every player. There is a togetherness in this squad that has not been seen in a Chelsea team since 2012. The regulars and fringe players all seem very happy and no one is showing any sign of feeling left out.

Long may this continue

Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason has had surgery after fracturing his skull during Sunday's game at Chelsea.

"Ryan is in a stable condition and expected to remain in hospital for the next few days," said a Hull statement.

Wishing him a speedy recovery..such a scary injury and it could have easily happened Cahill as well.

55 points at this stage of the season has only been achieved 4 times. 3 of those have been Chelsea. Won the league each time.

3*2 + 2 points clear of Arsenal
3*3 points clear of the s**t from the lane
3*3 + 1 points clear of Liverpool
3*4 points clear of Manchester City
3*4+2 points clear of Manchester United

When was the last time Arsenal beat us at Stamford Bridge?
5v3 where theo, santos, RVP (x3) scored

you had AVB as manager, and MAZACAR still if i remember correctly
Better questions would be when was the last time Arsenal beat Chelsea twice in a row
2003-2004 Season:

Sat 21 Feb Chelsea 1 - 2 Arsenal League

Sat 18 Oct Arsenal 2 - 1 Chelsea League
All in all, what a great gameweek!

Also the media drives the narrative and how they want people to think. I'm sure they will highlight two things extensively, the foul on Hernandez by Cahill and the stonewall penalty by Alonso. They will ofcourse not mention our stonewall penalty not given and non-offside call.
+3
No mention of those in the post match comments. Typical.
I think the Pedro one would've been soft. Definitely not "stonewall" IMO. Cahill did not foul Hernandez and I feel the refs made 2 big mistakes - Alonso penalty and Diego goal ruled out. It evens out, but it's still bad officiating.
