In other news... Looks like we'll be facing Spurs at Wembley. And Ivory Coast won so those that though there was any chance of seeing Yaya and Bony will be disapointed.
Revenge is a dish best served at Wembley.
wow, torres is actually back now, finally. Happy for the guy tbh.
+1
I'll say Torres is back when he puts these numbers up for the whole season. But I still stand by the fact he shows up for big games. Its the 40+ other games where he falls asleep.
Lmao Torres.
He really does enjoy being home again.
+1
Atletico are blessed, strikers just shine there.
+1
Lol torres is such a troll, I am happy for him though.
Maybe Torres plan all along was to play like s**t so defenders would give him more space because they thought him so useless and harmless. Now he can just use that space and try for real now...

Lol.
+3
The FA are so incompetent I actually felt pity for suarez for a second facepalm.........
Omg Torres again. within 50 seconds.
Friendly reminder to all to update your fantasy teams by selling costa!
Remy or Drogba to start vs City? Whats your take?

I am personally pushing for Remy. Since the beginning of the season I have been looking for him to come off the bench and it has consistently been Drogba. Dont get me wrong, I love Drog...but he's half a season away from coaching. Let the young stud Remy get in the game. He has more pace and links better I think.
City would rather face Drogba. Remy is very very under rated.
Drogba is only going to start to hold the ball up and pass it to Hazard.

I would rather have Remy also, but Drogba does have the ability to show up in big games, while doing nothing against the likes of Bradford.
Like Theo mentioned Drogba will start and I think it is a right decision to start him ahead of Remy for big games.
Drogba to start, and remy if we need to chase the game.
Poor Remy. Playing chicken minutes behind a 36 year old. I hope he leaves before good career gets ruined.
+1
^ Best thing that happend in his life was - He failed the medical at Liverpool. I dont think Remy will just give-up an opportunity to play for a top club easily. He clearly knows this is Drogba's last season and he will be our 2nd choice next year.
Mourinho will randomly buy another striker - if Remy does nothing this season, he won't be 2nd choice next year.
He will leave in four years, until then he is our player to do as we see fit.
Costa has been charged by the FA. and faces three match ban for his actions yesterday

Thank God. As much as I am sad that he will miss city match I am (for once) very happy that the FA was sensible in this situation. He just can't go around being as violent as this, in my opinion it is an utter disgrace the way he does this(Costa). It happens a occasionally but Costa crosses/d the line way too often for my liking. I'm also very happy this has happened now and not later where it might impact us much more. He needs to learn.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9685192/chelsea-striker-diego-costa-charged-over-stamp-on-liverpools-emre-can

Its official...this is not even funny anymore. If this noobs can fine a Manager for coments aimed at the media even when the Ref publicly acknowledged his error then u can't put anything beyond them as long as Chelsea is involved. In every other organisation the Club and fans will get a apology for Ref ineptitude but not in football.
As long as he can appeal and play against City, I don't really care.
He won't appeal. That would result in further punishment, 5 game ban. Not worth it considering he's guilty.
+6
@Theo is that how it actually works? He has until Thursday @6pm to appeal it. If he does, he is still able to face City?

Can anyone shed light on this, not sure how appealing and the FA works.
He can deny or accept the charge. Accept and they will give him an immediate 3 game ban.

Deny and he will get a hearing but most likely it will be after the City game. If he loses the appeal though it will be a 4 game ban.
Like Chelsea61 mentioned..no need to appeal when we know he is guilty.

I have seen enough cribbing all day from Liverppol , City and Arsenal fans about this...hopefully this ban will help them a bit.
Costa deserves the ban no doubt, but i want to see this consistency from the FA with other players of OTHER clubs, and this i'v yet too see frankly.

Can't wait to see what Mourinho's reaction is to this, hunger strike? :D
Looking at the schedule, it actually makes sense to accept I guess. We have 2 home games and and away at Villa coming up. We can/should cope, especially if Fabregas returns soon.

If he misses any more games, he'll be out against West ham away which will be very difficult.
So the refs clearly standing in front of the play looking at Costa and Can, doesn't see it. Meanwhile, Skrtel elbows Costa at Anfield out of view from the refs and no-one saw it, theres video replay that shows it happening, FA does nothing. This is the kind of inconsistant punishment that needs to change. There's a clear dislike for Jose, obviously, so the FA will be looking to make example of any Chelsea players misdeeds. While missing a call against our opponents a couple times a game is nothing.

#FAdoublestandard
Like some of us havd quite rightly pointed out there's no need to appeal. He should just accept it and we carry on with available players. It will keep him refreshed and ready to " fight " when he returns as well as fresh for UCL matches.

In another news Christiano got a 2 game ban for violent conduct after punching someone. Normally VC results in a 3 game ban but Real face Atletico in the 3rd game hence the decision of a 2 game ban. Football is corrupt to the teeth
+1
If the penalty was more than two games the league Madrid derby at the Vicente Calderon against Atletico Madrid (7 February) would be lost, because in between the Real Madrid must recover the postponed match against Sevilla on February 4.

Edit: Interestingly enough, the ref did not write in his report that Ronaldo's red card was due to Violent conduct. He listed a kick on Edimar while the ball was out of reach as the reason for the red card.
and the AS Madrid wrote to the committee before the punishment was delivered.
@Naija: He didnt punch anyone, but he did kick someone lol
http://www.espnfc.com/capital-one-cup/story/2269346/diego-costa-charged-over-stamp-on-emre-can-against-liverpool

There is no right to appeal. Cup matches panel is a little different to the Premier League panel.
+1
Bwfyid, he actually punched, kicked and slapped in the same game, but only the kick was focused on.
Costa is a big miss, but not as much as we'd miss Matic. For the City game, given cescs injury situation, Matic, Hazard and Oscar will be the most important players I feel.
