What if City finish 5th and Pep Guardiola was relegated to managing on Thursdays how beautiful would that be

pellegrini sweet revenge
Biggest reason we're becoming a team of mercinaries (IMO):

The treatment of legends like Lampard, Cech and now Terry. These men won us everything. Sadly, Roman decided casting them out was the easiest thing to do. They all deserved royal treatment, not neccesarily playing time, but they should have all been treated like kings and kept here until retirement, ALL OF THEM!

The young aspiring players see this kind of treatment towards club legends and quickly realize how expendable they are. That the club won't even show proper respect to the players that worked so hard for so many years. Where's the incentive? Its all been handled so poorly. I can see why the dressing room is in such chaos.

At least Drogba had the sense to take matters into his own hands. But its been pretty much the worst way to handle a group of aging players that meant so much to us as fans of this club.
Lol how did we mistreat Cech? Mourinho made him second fiddle but he was still world class so he wanted to get first team football. Frank could have stayed but we are not 100 percent sure of Terry as anything could have happened
Talk about how a potential legend in Mata was treated by the special one
+3
Cech is still better than Courtois. We sent him away. Thats how he was mistreated. The experience he gained through all those years was never passed on to Courtois. We just expected that Thibaut was going to pick up where a legend left off. If you think we aren't worse off for letting Cech go then you are not paying attention to our position in the league.

There's a case for Mata as well. And yes, alot of this was done in a time when our decisions were being made more confidently because we trusted we had the best man doing the job. But then all the players decided Jose needed to go. Pretty ironic really. Especially if those players themselves leave over the next few years.

We went from having a foundation of great players and staff to rubble in the course of 7 months. And as of yet, no-one has explained whats happening. I'm angry and I want answers! I spend thousands of dollars on this club every year. I get a shirt every summer, I pay for the premium sports package to watch every game, I get Chelsea gear for Christmas and birthday's. If Roman won't listen to my voice then he can talk to my credit card, lack there of.

The truth is, this game is more about confidence than any other sport. Something our club is lacking right now. And they aren't exactly building confidence in anyone right now. Yes, we've stopped the bleeding but not before we were 7 points from relegation. F**k!

I know most of us feel very strongly attached to certain players but the idea that any player past or present made this Club is farcical to say the least. Roman Abramovich is the singular reason we made the step from an "Arsenal mentality team" ie top 4 finish to proper domestic and continental heavyweight. The likes of Lampard, Terry, DD, Cech etc should be grateful to Roman and the Club for offering them the opportunity to compete in the top flight and earn star salaries to go with working under the best Coaches in football. The truth is Terry could have been a Nottingham Forest player and would unlikely have achieved his current status playing alongside mediocre teamates, Lamps could have remained at West Ham and followed his Uncle Harry on his sorjourn in the premier league mostly ending in failure.

After spending millions on a player, paying them crazy wages and buying some of the best to play alongside them I think players owe more gratitude to the Club than the other way round. I have heard in the past of Roman giving his yacht to some of our players to party in and Cech's recent transfer just goes to show jow much the Club love and respect their players. Would Daniel Levy at Tottenham do that? He wouldn't even allow Modric come near us and sold him cheaper than he could have got from us.

Players must learn to accept when its time to call it day but greed and personal ambition (selfishness) beclouds their reason instead of working for the greater good. I will always respect DD bcos he accepted that the Club has to allow younger players to do his job to secure our future whether the said players were as good as himself or not didn't matter. He went with his head held high instead of doing what Terry did. This Terry who slept with a colleagues fiancée, made racists jibes at a player and all sorts of mess which the Club duly stood by him to fight.

The board and Romam deserve more respect from us all...lets not allow one horrible season make us forget winning 13 trophies in 10 years iirc. We have achieved this without ant stock market backing (Mam U), sweetened deals from sister companies (City), monopolising TV revenues ( Barca and Real) or being a wealthy team among paupers (Bayern). All our achievements have been of hardwork and dedication with a bit of luck but no helping hands from any one outside the Club whatsoever
. Lets respect that please
+2
Technically they were all mercenaries except for Terry, some of Chelsea fans really need to move on and get over that golden age syndrome
Saw this on Facebook:

Last time Liverpool won the league, Schmeichel signed for United, won 5 times, retired, and now his son is about to win it.
+3
Ranieri would have won the league if he stayed longer and I think fate is rewarding him for that unfair treatment by Roman with winning the league this season.

If ever the board was considering Pellegrini today's match should put paid to any such idea.
i know the sacking was wrong but José won us the league and set us a great foundation

i like MP but he has no plan B .
+2
Naija, AS I stated the last time, Pellegrini is the last man Chelsea should be looking at.

No passion; No plan B and very boring. Tactically nonexistent

Say what u may about Mou but we really f**ked up by letting him go.

Pep once stated that Mou was 1 of the reasons he left Barca and took that break...

will we ever get a manager who loves the club as he does? whom the fans love regardless of his off the field antics?

Pellegrini for me should be a no go at all.

Yes he's a gentleman...neutrals have no problem with him but that's not how football works
+4
I think we should have sent Mourinho on loan to get his straight and brought him back for next season XD.XD
you mean to sent Mou on loan to Vitesse?
Lol yep
huuuuuuuttttthhhhhhh. i remember chelsea fans chanting his name like that whenever he touched the ball at thee bridge during mourinho era
Leicester!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who else got reminded of Leicester city this season as us last season? Park the bus football(counter attacking football for others regarding Leicester city) capitalize on set pieces, crazy aggresive defence.

Only difference is that everyone hates us for that kind of approach lol
Do you guys feel it will be good to bring Lukaku back to bridge in future..I think it was a mistake to sell him. I wish it was just a loan Damn!!
+3
We always knew it was a bad deal to let go Lukaku and also De Bruyne. But the situation was such that we had to let them go as they wanted play time.
+1
I'm sorry but we sold Lukaku and bought Diego - That was one of the best deals we made. Costa is a country mile ahead of Lukaku.

I couldn't see Lukaku leading his team to the champions league final and to a La Liga over Barca and Real Madrid, scoring 38 goals in the process.

Costa is just suffering from our overall s**t play this season. Don't you remember Diego last season??
@Rajmahal: Bro it's not about Costa vs Lukaku here. It's about Lukaku being our backup while getting a decent play time.
Chelsea have reportedly rejected a £57.5m January bid for Oscar from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, according to reports

Thats way too much money I would have accepted for such inconsistent player.

What bout yall?
Omg should have accepted wtf I've said it already better sell him when his value is still high
That's alot for Oscar lol. Reports suggest that they're going to bid again come summer.

Add it to the Pogba fund perhaps?
I think any club would accept that offer, not sure if Oscar would want to go there though...
why didnt this report come up during the transfer window? just a bullshit rumor, some journalist just looking for something to write, Oscar is a complete no 10 who offers us a lot, he is still very young and will be one of the best in his position in few years, its not just about money coz we may cash in big money for him and wasted that money in another Cuadrado type of player.
+5
Obinocarlo...totally agree with you. £57m is not a crazy bid for Oscar he is easily worth that amount in today's market plus he's not even 25 yet. We sold Luiz for £50m a couple of years ago and he wasn't as important for the team as Oscar is atm starting every game.

They will have to bid in excess of £65m for the Club to come to the table.
Obinocarlo - the transfer window in China is open till the end of February
even Guardian reporting this now....Anyways it would have been a mistake selling Oscar now without signing a replacement
Pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Oscar is overrated, average no. 10.

And this is coming from a once big fan of Oscar. Sell him.
+1
If Jose moves to United..brings Mata back?
i rather keep Oscar
+1
Sell Oscar lol let cesc be the no.10
I would sell but only if we get someone like Isco. Without getting a replacement hell no for less than 65 millions.
@SW61HS playing Cesc at no 10 havent worked and i dont think it will ever work, if you saw whenever he plays there he will even dropped deep in midfield leaving the striker to do all work while he is the one supporting the striker, also he is not good in pressing for ball when we lost it which Oscar do very well. all his assist comes when he is playing in Pivot which he dictated the pace of the game from there and loop the ball behind the defense.

Interesting debate on Chelseafancast, (which i reccomend EVERYONE to listen too, cause they bring up excellent points). Does anyone have that kind of passion that they used to for Chelsea? I know that I am really struggling to like this club like the way I did before and get behind any of the players. Sure, I do like some, but most of them are mercernaries to me, not like our old gaurd that played for the badge.

I get so irritated when these guys turn up for Arsenal but play half ass against lesser teams, that player siege mentality. Thats why I can respect the likes of Costa, Terry, Ivanovic, Mikel, Willian, Azpi, who despite being hot and cold here and there, give it their all for the badge.

Hope I'm proven wrong when the likes of Hazard, Courtois etc. stay even when we don't have UCL football.

That passion I had for Chelsea however, is slowly dieng i'm afraid, not sure about how you guys feel.
I dont think players purposely turn up for Arsenal and then switch off for lesser teams that argument can go either way if Arsenal fans say their team switch of against us and play well against others. Our confidence is still fragile and teams like Arsenal always want to attack especially at home so that allows more space for our creative players do thrive.

We have struggled against organised and hardworking teams since 2013 when we couldn't beat mid table teams while winning against title rivals. Atletico demolished our team thar year as if to further butress the point that we strughle against hardworking and disciplined teams who play compact.

What we need going forward is to be able to diversify out game especially in attack so we dont just play narrow. We need proper wingers and attacking Fbs to widen the game if its too compact in the middle.

All those who want players sold should think twice bcos the quality of a teams bench has a huge bearing on their season

The old guard is just that, old.. give it up. I initally became a fan solely because of Drogba. Clearly am still a fan but we had a fantastic team for a while and took it for granted. These guys are old now and the board/managers need to realize that and give these young boys like BABA, RLC, KENEDY a effing chance to prove themselves in meaningful matches, meaning START THEM... Azpi, Zouma and Mikel are trash to me. Why we let Filipe Luis go I will never understand, why we don't start Baba when he's clearly a creator as well as a defender I will never understand, Mikel is not good, one decent game and he starts every game, I dont even know how he's still on the team..but whatever, keep it BLUE
I was taking you seriously until you said Azpi is trash. Zouma and Mikel, understandable. But Azpi, trash?

I hope that's a mistake on your part, or else we'll just have to agree to disagree.
+1
Just REALLY dont like watching our back line except for Cahill who hasn't played n idk how long, also he cant cross for jack s**t which is crucial for 4-3-3, and where Ivanovic redeems himself at times
Well if you play a right footed RB at LB and expect him to cross.. sigh.
he want him to cross with his head, play A Cole,Alaba, Marcelo and other left footed players on the RB and expect them to cross with their right foot. Ivanovic is one of the worst RB in terms of crossing.
I'm with Bluff. In nearly 30 years of passionately following this team I've never felt so disconnected from the club. There's no manager out there that would take on the job and make it so personal. And the players that cared about the club are all gone. Now were just a paycheck destination between clubs that care. At least thats how I feel lately. And nobody's proving me wrong.

I think we have a real issue with a lack of English players. Our core group is brazillian and that group is getting larger with Pato arriving. We need a manager that understands them and wants to work with them. Not just a guy who fills in when change is afoot.

Its difficult to understand how it all went wrong so quickly but I guess the slack summer we had was the catalyst. Everyone came back fat and lazy. Hungover from living like kings and resting for the first time in a long time. Well, look what resting did. There'll be plenty of time for resting when these guys are retired. Until then, we need a manager that'll ride them all like the donkey's they are.

I want to see passion again. Its certainly not coming from any of our players. Especially Hazard. He f*****g chose us. And the only time he 's gained any recognition is when he was pushed outside his comfort zone. Obviously something's broken inside him. Nobody has a fall this big without a mental block of some kind. Its really quite shocking and its driving me away from the game for the first time in over 30 years.
