Chelsea have 28 players on loan? That's ridiculous!
The real 12th man

Ba, 2 games, 2 goals, 6 points for us.

Thank you Ba for being patient and helping us getting 6 vital points

Ba is our saviour.

Love him.
Ba is boss. He deserves better than playing second fiddle to Torres.
A somewhat reputable source is claiming the Costa deal is close:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10768620/Chelsea-closing-in-on-80-million-Atletico-Madrid-striker-Diego-Costa.html

80m ;O

It's a 32m fee and 180k a week in wages. I think the wages are to reimburse him for paying his buyout clause.
Still cheaper than Torres. His wage could have been better but reasonable deal imo.
I hope we'll get him. Best option for us atm amd he'll be yhe missing piece fr our striker.

But lets not get too far ahead since its still a long way to go
And better deal than Rooney as well. His new wage is close to 350,000 which is more than 18M a year. Plus the transfer fee we would have to pay.
torres earns around 175k a week.
Lol @ 80 mil! His release clause is set at £38 mil. What reason would Chelsea have to pay a penny more? Especially if we waive the fee Athletico are contractually obliged to pay for Courtois playing against us.
i'm sure the 80 million includes his wages
£80M came from £38M (Transfer Fee) + £46.8M (5 Year x 52 weeks x 180K)

It's not exactly 80M but rather close to 75M.

If we would have gone for Rooney, we would have ended up paying double that amount (including his wage and transfer fee).
Rooney's wage is £350,000 = £18M a year -> £80M for 5 years and transfer fee close to £45M-50M. £130M NOT WORTH IT

So yes, if this deal is true, it's pretty decent transfer with reasonable price for fantastic player.
at this rate rooney will be making 500k per week by the end of the season

if costa cab reproduce his form for the last two seasons this would be a bargain deal
Didn't Costa just come off an injury and again got injured or something? I hope he doesn't become another Torres for us.
They were really minor injuries if I remember correctly.
Sore hamstring/knee and crashing into a post are signs of an injury-prone player.
His game isn't reliant on pace and confidence lol.
I have a good feeling that we will get through !

I think Ba will start ,lately he has
been more treat than any one .
+1
I won't be surprised if Mourinho plays Schurrle up front vs Atletico. It would be suicide to play Torres, he'll probably score an own goal for them. Ba and Eto'o won't be any good since we'll be sitting deep and pressing.
+1
Eto'o can't score away from home. Ba should start at the Calderon.

He can win long balls and knock it down for the AM's unlike the other 2.
+1
If Eto`o is fit, he has to start hes clearly still our number one striker and lives for these big games, definitely not a fan of Schurrle up front he looks even more clueless then Torres as a CF.
+3
Schurrle is more effective when defenders are occupied with a striker. Eto'o is probably the best option, as long as Schurrle is on the wing, Ba as an impact sub.
+1
yea i agree, eto is our best striker atm.
Eto'o will play at the bridge, not the first away leg. like Theo said, he has zero away goals.
I agree with Ba or Eto'o starting. but saying Torres playing is suicide, or him scoring an own goal is too exaggerating it already. he's never done such a thing with us, and he probably won't.

But I still think Ba should start. they will be attacking, so Ba will have some space to run in behind.

Eto'o will be best at home.it's like he thrives when the fans are chanting and getting behind the team.
Meh, for me our best players should be starting, his away goals is not a legitimate reason to not play him, I know Ba got some important goals but Eto'o is the better striker

Worth a look in. We are certainly going in the right direction and not as much of a financial bully as we are often portrayed

Seen...apologies, points noted.
Simeone on Costa: "It depends on him and what he believes is best for his future. I will support any decision.

"It is normal that Chelsea are interested in him. He has good economic potential. Eto'o gets older and (they want) Diego Costa to do their work, but now he's ours."
I think its safe to say we will be seeing Costa in Chelsea blue next season. I'm pretty sure he will be our Aguero.
Simeone told Spanish radio station Onda Cero: "Fernando is always with us, obviously I have sent messages to him, he is very happy with everything that is happening to this team, he is always present, wishing us luck. Of course he would love to come back to the club he grew up in and where he was very happy."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10766979/Chelsea-are-very-keen-on-Diego-Costa-and-we-want-Fernando-Torres-admits-Atletico-manager-Diego-Simeone.html

To quote the great Liquidator,

Please let this be true.
Please let this be true.
Please let this be true.
Please let this be true.

We don't care if he goes to Atleti or Inter
We'll ship off the nightmare of 2010-11 winter
You can take him, take him for free
And happy all of us can be

He says he wants him now >_>...

What would be funny if he gets in the form of his life again.
+1
I hope his time machine is still functional, because there is literally no way that he could regain what he had. Unless, of course, we can replace his body parts. In which case, he'll be around for longer than Eto'o.
@NAOTA
i'd say he will improve
His best friend is David villa too (Torres). Looks like Ba and Torres might go
This pretty much confirms Costa will be at Stamford Bridge next season. A manager doesn't come out and say something so blatant without serious talks going on behind scenes. I'm sure the final nail in this agreement is whether Courtois will be going back for another season.
Athleti want him back. it's true.
I guess it could be another bargaining chip for Costa to to the other direction.
