The Hypocrisy of We The Fans
--------------------------------------------

I know this wont be popular around here but if Costa somehow escapes a retrospective ban, I would appreciate if the club fines him or cautions him.

Its so funny that when suarez does it, he lacks class, when Aguero steps on Luiz he is a "terrible person", when Yaya slaps mata "He is been a stupid bully that deserves no respect" but when Costa does it, "He is just a FIGHTER who has fire in him". I am sorry, call me naive but that is a lame defence.

Quote me, the stupidity of costa will cost us dearly someday, remember the "Drogba slap on vidic that cost us the UCL final", the "stupid Terry tackle on Alexis that almost cost us the semi-final", I dont get the excuse that an adult who is paid millions of pounds to play and be a role model to kids and yet, they do stupid things all in the name of "heat of the game".

As for costa, i know he had a rough upbringing, same way with a lot of us from Africa and South America but you dont see everybody acting in a stupid way in their daily roles and jobs just because of their upbringing, I am a big fan of this guy but everyday I watch him play dirty, I lose a tiny bit of respect for him, most times they aren't even needed .

For the excuse about upbringing, Bison(Essien) had a much rougher upbringing on the cold streets of ghana, he however always seemed to maintain a cool head, same applies to kaka who is really calm, i know people are different but I would appreciate if the club can take a stand on this and let him know we are club of values, we don't condone such behaviors.

I don't expect the FA to punish him because they have let others go in the past but if he stamps on someone else again he should be banned.

Football projects more to the world than just the game, I loathe players who do these things. If we win, lets win fairly and if we lose, lets lose fair and square.
+8
the skrtel might be unintentional but he deserves a ban. But I hope its after the city game.
"cold streets of ghana" LOL, i been there many times & it aint exactly chilly Dawg.

But I absolutely agree with you and I´m glad you´re bringing it up. I also think its just classless to do these kinds of things, no need for it, same with diving which hurts my stomach when a blue shirt does it.

One of my old team mates always took dives in the most embarrassing way and he was good at it too, always got us pens and freekicks..
But after half a season I had to tell him that what he was doing was disgracing the team and i was loosing respect for him. I hope someone in the Chelsea squad does the same for Costa.

I will say this though; the pressure of playing front of 40.000 + fans can get to anyone, no matter how rich they are. People change when the play football, I see it every week.

@Kokm1: Lol.. It was a figure of speech. I am from Lagos, Nigeria, the closest we in that region have to cold is "harmattan". Lol
+1
i know man :) " tis the jolly banter of the pensioneer forum harf harf harf"

Never got to Nigeria, although there are quite a few Nigerians in Accra I seem to remember.
Nice. I hope he cuts out this part of his game. I don't mind taunting and physical challenges to a certain extent, however i draw the line at injuring opponents. (There's also his snot throwing... don't know how i feel about that.)

This aggression was already evident in his Atletico days. I suspect it might be an integral part of his game. If so I think he should punished only when he crosses the line. He has done well so it is up to us to manage the risk of having him in our team.
@Samcrosoft
good post, i know what you mean and i'd be lying if i didn't think about that exact same thing ("the stupidity of costa will cost us dearly someday")

Even Suarez's stupidity cost Liverpool dearly you can say. But as long as the player belongs to your club there will always be that attachment and a bias/hypocritical mentality, its quite normal.

Can't do anything about it except wait and see lol.
I think the first stamp is on purpose. The 2nd looked accidental but either way i dont care
^ i think we'd all care if the ref catches him during the first stamp and sends him off no? Or the FA ban him for 3 games including the City match etc...
I hope Filipe Luis's injury is minor. I thought we played better with him.
Mourinho: "Branislav Ivanovic's boot should be in the Academy, for the kids to see, the boot is full of blood. His foot was cut
+1
So where's the guy who was hating on Ivanovic? If you cannot see Ivanovic as one of the top 10 to 20 defenders in the world, you're clearly blind. But what's admirable is his tenacity, something pretty common amongst Mourinho's men for some reason.
+1
I am usually very critical of him but I respect his ability to affect big games. One of our leaders in the dressing room.
Brana!! 18 goals for a defender in the Prem is pretty great! (200 apps)

I think alltime 5th place is 25. ( Terry at second with 35 in 440 apps)
With all the doubts and injuries our team vs Man City is prolly

--------Courtois--------
--ivan----Cahill---Terry--azpi
-------Ramires---Matic------
--willian---oscar---hazard
-----------costa----------

I think Cahill would start after not playing vs Liverpool tho I hope Zouma starts..but u mbr know. .we might need Cahills experience in games like this. Ramires and Matic in the pivot cuz it'll be quite a miracle if Fab plays. .. if Fabs fit, id put him at CAM instead of Oscar.

Costa will prolly get the official ban next weel. These incident report takes time
as much as i want us to win but i can't see it happning ..id be happy with one point.
@Toronto1: City's defense has been poor for some matches now. It means we will possibly score at least one goal, so it all comes down to how our defenders and defensive midfielders handle City's attack. It's not really tough to beat the current City team without Toure. Aguereo and Kompany have just returned from injury and are not playing that well. So I believe we are in a good position to win.
lol Jamie Redknapp.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31014422
Just watch the Bradford match 2nd half, gotta say Cahill was extremely shaky in defence. Zouma had to make a few clearances for him
Didier was completely useless in that match though, wasted 3 great chances, almost like making a clearance for the opposition
DUDE LOL
HAHAHA :D Let it go, let it go.
Still extremely gutted about going out of FA cup to Bradford... and the disappointment is even stronger when you realize IT WAS NOT BROADCASTED.. therefore you can't even see WHAT ACTUALLY WENT WRONG
Let it go
Let it go
Can't hold it back anymore...
+1
...
^Haha didnt see you had written the lyrics to "Let it go" beneath me :D
"Fabregas reported a tight hamstring. He said he wasn't yet injured but that he would be soon if he continued," Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said.

So seems like it was just a precaution and hopefully Cesc should be good to start against city. IMO we should use Ramires in the pivot and push Cesc to no. 10 role for big games

-----Ramires-Matic------
Willian--Cesc---Hazard--
He won't start just 4 days later imo, hammy problems are quite tricky.
+1
So for how many games will Costa get suspended for 3 right? I hope the suspension is after the city game. In that case he will miss Villa, Everton and Burnley games.
3, normal red card ban.
@Bazinga - are you assuming that Costa will get banned? He might get away with it. Aguero literally jumped on Luiz and survived the aftermath.

I personally don't want Costa banned.
Knowing its Chelsea and Costas reputation, ban is very likely lol

Lebron James got nothing on Bane!
